Edit:
Looks like Amazon is out of them as the front item page is now a $39.99 third party seller. But you can still go to their "New" section and get an order in for it from Amazon at the $19.99 price, but it is shipping in 1-3 weeks now from them.
Thanks, scott_matthews. :)

Go ahead tempt fate, I could use a better deal on this anyway.

I Would recommend anyone wanting this game to get it now. I highly doubt It will drop in price. It was $20 at gamestop a few months ago but it's jumped back to $40.

I personally loved the game one of my favorite Wii games. The negative reviews are exaggerated. The only real fault with this game is that it's a survival horror game that is not scary and is very easy. Sometimes the game can be a bit boring, but it's worth pushing through to see what happens next.

There really is nothing like this game, the graphics and art direction is gorgeous, the story is gripping, it's just really unique. Sometimes the game can be a chore to play, but I would still recommend it to anyone who is interested in this game.

Gah! Just stop! I need this game, but I can't buy until tomorrow... I hope the deal lasts until then.

I have a real problem with T-rated survival horror games. I almost didn't buy the first Fatal Frame because of the T rating.

The thing about calling this game a survival horror is a bit off; in terms of analogy, I would compare your standard survival horror to Fragile Dream as one that pairs up hardcore pornography to arthouse flick with nudity - your typical survival is about blasting weird things and all actiony; Fragile Dream has more of a plot and almost a philosophical approach to it.

Tha'ts my 2 cents.

Thanks, OP; I've been waiting for this to drop to an affordable price, and it's still going for more than this price at Gamestop used! :applause:

The negative reviews are in no way exaggerated. The actual 'game' portions of this game are pretty terrible. Clunky interface, wonky waggle, terrible combat, and flat out horrible backtracking that every area requires.

With all that said, I would still recommend it to someone who loves a very interesting story with a beautiful presentation. A very unique and polarizing experience.

strange it defaults to the 39.99 but if you look under the 'new' page you do see it for 19.99 from amazon

i have a copy but i think i'll get one to keep sealed since this game was kinda hard to find for a while there. now to find something else to get to get to 25+ bucks for free shipping

Is the calling good? Its only 13 bucks

Dammit! I didn't think this would ever happen. Bought a used one off Gamestop a while back, but would've definitely preferred this...

Thanks OP, in for one. Looks like Amazon is out of them as the front item page is now a $39.99 third party seller. But you can still go to their "New" section and get an order in for it from Amazon at the $19.99 price, but it is shipping in 1-3 weeks now from them.

i found the game too boring to play through until the end.. probably my short attention span.. but it was very pretty to look at and i like how they kept the original japanese language on there for people who want it.
Is this a turn-based RPG, or action-based RPG?
It's an adventure/exploration game. No real RPG elements to it. It works well for the most part, but like everyone has said, the combat is pretty damn terrible.

Cool, thanks. If I didn't have that typical, CAG-backlog, I'd probably get this.

Thanks, OP! I missed this at Gamestop and it seems like Gamestop is doing a good job recently of jacking items back up in price.

I was same way but I bought it based on what others said about story. Story is pretty good from what ive heard

I picked it up a while back... really cool environment/universe, but combat was pretty uninteresting (mash the A button, or waggle, I forget which) and weapons break really quickly. I think I lost interest in the first hour because of the weapon breakage; you basically had to stuff your inventory full of sticks leaving little room for loot (which needed to be brought back to a store to identify anyway), and if your weapons break you're essentially helpless and just have to run to a store to get more (think your unarmed attack did 1HP damage)... I definitely need to pick it back up again though. It felt like it was worth playing despite the combat and at times cliched characters. Like there's got to be an amazing experience hidden in there if I just give it a chance.
