buy.com Marvel v Capcom 3 $40 shipped (PS3/360)
Is it worth $40 with Super MVC3 around the corner?
While I don't doubt there will be a super version, where did you read a super version will release this year, or even next year by Feb? It's probably going to be a good year + off.

There's never been a "Super" version in the VS series. If anything I'd expect a GOTY version with the DLC characters on disc somewhere down the line, but the same can be said about virtually every game released nowadays. The only thing close to Super was when CvS 1 & 2 were released on different platforms.

I'd expect two more DLC characters before announcing another version of the game.

I thought i read that Capcom said they are all done with DLC for MVC3. I think I read it on the G4 app on my phone or the GameFly app so a link is not possible for me, which seems unlikely because Capcom loves money so much, unless it means they plan to re-release with more characters

I'm hoping there is a re-release of MvC3. I'm usually against those kind of things but MvC3 lacked alot of modes. No Spectator or Tournament modes. And the fact I can only go against the CPU in Arcade mode and not a Versus type thing kind of irked me. The actual fighting is top notch. Might bite on this offer though to get a copy for my PS3.

I can't pay more than $30 for a fighting game. To each his own but that genre doesn't really make me wanna run out and buy titles. Besides, the prices always drop quickly.

So very tempted by this; but seeing as CAPCOM is about to release their 3rd version of Street Fighter IV, I don't trust them to not do the same here, especially with Marvel so tightly involved.

Besides, after seeing how much content is stuffed into the new Mortal Kombat, it's hard to pay over $30 for a CAPCOM fighter these days.
wait for super marvel vs capcom 3 arcade edition
I think you mean Super Marvel vs. Capcom 3 Hyper Fighting Arcade Edition.

Honestly, i love the game, but disapprove of Capcom's money grabbing practices as of late. I'll wait until MvC3 drops to $20 so i can justify paying extra for additional (missing) content, or i'll hold off for a complete version of the game... and then probably wait until that drops to $40.

Everyone who says they will wait for a new "complete" version are just ill informed. Yes Capcom has done similar things with the Street Fighter series but not with every game they put out. If you choose to wait for a version of the game that doesn't exist yet, fine, but don't discourage other from playing a good game now in hope of a better version down the line.

And so it begins...

This was exactly what I predicted with this title. I decided that a one day rental from Redbox would be suitable, and that's all I'm giving it, and I still feel ripped off for that $2. Too many characters missing, too many modes missing, etc. People can deny it, but everyone knows there's going to be some Super MvC3 Tournament 3d Arcade edition.

Yeah, Capcom should get sales for this game, but they fucked it up and their reputation at this point IMO.

You want another game Capcom has done this to, how about Lost Planet.

It's CAG, people here will use any excuse to not buy a game now... Even if there isn't a SMvC, we'll still be happy when we buy it for $20 in a couple months instead of $40 now.

People, please have some pity for Capcom . . . they've had some terrible bombs lately and lost tons of $$. A few to think about that failed:

Lost Planet 2
Bionic Commando
Dark Void

So they need to make money back SOMEHOW, right? Its really a shame they've released so many failed games lately, even more when you think about the huge library of older games that they COULD be tapping for GOOD updated re-releases (like the Ghosts 'N Goblins series and countless other old arcade classics).

And no, I'm not kidding . . . Capcom really needs to turn things around somehow, things have not been going well for them lately.

Are you serious? What a load of crap! LOL
I have an idea why don't you just buy 30 full price copies of Lost Planet 2, Bionic Commando and Dark Void? that way you can support the Capcom Empire :booty:
This is CHEAPASSGAMER.com not CAPCOMBENEFACTORS.com

Maybe they could steal other developers ideas and release them on the iphone to make up for some games that bombed.
angry birds mega man version please
Mega Birds. Once you kill an evil robot pig general, you can steal its powers. And you can charge your default bird.

I've been regretting buying MvC 3 since the week after release. I really wish I had waited, but at least I got a $15 gift card out of the deal at TRU. After getting Mortal Kombat, MvC 3 seems so incomplete in comparison.

I love the VS series, but feel I should've stuck with my Dreamcast version of MvC 2.

Great price for those that held out.
I was gonna post something contrary to you, but your sig speaks volumes already.

Hilarity.
i was thinking the same thing.

I would totally go back and play a 10 year old fighter when there was an updated version thats just as fun and has the same features if not more, but hey thats just me.

Mvc2 is eternal. No fighting game has ever come close to it's complexity and deep engine. It is a game that requires not only skill in execution, but very strong mind games and a heightened sense of awareness. Street fighter bows down to it.

*I apologize if this comes off as trolling, but I try to back up my statements with sound logic and reasoning.

Street Fighter 2, Street Fighter 2 Championship Edition, Street Fighter 2: Hyper Edition, Super Street Fighter 2, Super Street Fighter 2: Somethingsomething...

Haha, I still remember how many times they re-released Street Fighter 2. Capcom's not changed since the old days. They'll milk anything people are willing to keep paying for.

If the 10 year old fighter is a helluva lot cheaper and apparently is "just as fun," then well yeah, I'd probably just play the old one I'm used to. ;) Plus, I'm pretty sure lacking a number of characters is more than a small amount of missing in MvC3.

Newer is not always better.

Anyways, I'm waiting for this one to hit $15-20, then I'll get it. Just too much taken from the classic game for anyone to pay $40-60 for imo.

You, Sir or Ms., are a very confused individual. So much so that I can see it's not even worth the time to further debate this with you. Have fun in your little world.

I got it day 1 $45 @ BB with a pm of the same TRU offer so I can't complain been playing it alot. Will get a decent TIV for it to put towards the complete edition whatever they will call it.

But anybody can get it for $30 now @ TRU if you another $60 game to go with the b1g1 50% off. Chances are you still should be able to get $25-$30 for it if you don't like it.

If MK sales blow MVC3's out maybe this will change capcom's strategy down the line.

All pricing aside the game isn't god awful like most people say, and even though it doesn't have a big roster of characters the ones chosen are pretty sweet (Mike fuckin Haggar).

Waiting for the Super Deluxe Mega Ultra version with DLC characters and new play modes.

Give me Megaman and Ken please!!!!
Been very tempted by this as i'm much more of a MvC guy then a MK guy, i'd love to hear more feedback between the two
MK is definitely worth full price since it has soooo much stuff to do (awesome story mode, 300 challenges, etc) and plays like the old school ones (its on a 2d plane). MvC3 is fun (plays like a mix between Tatsunoko vs Capcom and MvC2) but your basically going to be buying it for arcade and versus. If you want more bang for your buck go with MK, I own them both though.

All I know is I paid extra for Street Fighter IV to get the Collector's Edition with the crappy Anime movie, Cheap Plastic Figurine and free DLC Brawler costume pack. When Super Street Fighter IV came out, they gave away the DLC Brawler costume pack for free. Slap in the face one. So I'm like you know I'll buy Super Street Fighter IV and be done with it all, months later they announce Arcade Edition... I'm like you are you serious, bro? Definitely the last Capcom game I buy for a while.

Then I hear about Marvel Vs. Capcom 3, I enjoyed playing MVC2 back in the day. I was tempted to buy it but remember what they did with SF4. A few months later I'm seeing that they're pulling the same type of crap.

lol... MvC2 has one of the simplest engines, which is why it was so popular. If you want a complex game, go learn Tekken, Arcana Heart, BlazBlue, Guilty Gear... pretty much most other fighting games.

It was easy to pick up, but certainly not master. Tekken, and blazblue are great! I find that street fighter players (because of its popularity) believe that mvc2 is far inferior, but it is those same players who can't hold a candle to the mvc2 players while players that play mvc2 can play street fighter quite well. do you play mvc2, and are you any good?
MvC2 and Alpha 3 (when played at a high level) are pretty much the most advanced and complex fighters Capcom ever put out.
Don't disagree with you there. But I do disagree that MvC2 is the most complex of fighters, like someone else was suggesting.
