I'm just trying to get back into Street Fighter. I loved it as a kid, but haven't played it much for the past few years. I find now that I have a very hard time linking moves due to not being very consistent with the d-pad, and my left hand always ends up hurting before long. That said, I'm thinking I want to get a stick to alleviate both problems!

I'm looking at getting this one:
http://www.amazon.com/Real-Arcade-Pro-V3-Playstation-3/dp/B0041SGD44/ref=cm_cr_pr_product_top

But I was also thinking it would be nice to get one that works on PS 2 AND 3 instead of just 3. Any advice on on any of this? =D

You should try it before you buy it. Some people prefer those HRAP 3 sticks over the MadCatz TE sticks, but don;'t believe what anyone says. Play whatever's comfortable for you. I own a MadCatz Round I TE Stick, and while it is a great stick, I'd rather play with my Xbox 360 pad (or PS3 controller).

You can also check out the Qanba Q4ARF. It's pretty similar to the MadCatz TE stick, except it has an octo-gate restrictor plate (TE sticks use a 4-way restrictor plate), you can plug it to your PC, Xbox 360 or PS3 without having to mod it, and some other minor differences. Here's a link if you want more info on it:

the TE is awesome for Mavervl vs. Capcom games because of the response, button layout and quick combinations...also great for any SF game, though the 360 controller works just fine for SF and MK.

but definitely try it out first if you have a buddy who owns one etc.

All of these are good options but if for any reason you would want it to work on ps3 and 360 and dont want to mod it yourself. Get this one(comes out this week in America I believe):

They are sold out on that site but there was another site that was not sold out. If your interested in getting this one Ill look it up for you. I'm actually waiting for the mail to come because I bought a SSF4 TE stick off of someone on shoryuken.com

I'd like to know where I could get one of those!

If you dont mind the button config. The MK stick that is bundles with TE is awesome. I just arrange my config for playing SF2 or MvC3
all I got is a $50 hori ex2 (square gate) from amazon. I love it. Mines on xbox though, do they have ex2's for ps3?

http://www.amazon.com/Xbox360-Fight...2P6Q/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1305323391&sr=8-2
Yes the Fightstick 3 though I wouldn't recommend that or the Ex2 since both are a complete pain in the ass to mod and feel rather cheap. Now if you are trying to get one that works on the ps2 and ps3 you may just want to get a ps2 stick and use an adapter for the ps3 when needed. So something like a Namco Arcade Stick http://cgi.ebay.com/Namco-Playstati...0782813265?pt=Video_Games&hash=item3367ae6051 and inpin converter http://www.etokki.com/iNPiN PS2 to PS3 Converter
LMFAO. I like how you asked a question and then abandoned your own thread while posting elsewhere on the board.
I like how you deleted your comment >_> take a chill pill. Last time I looked was at the build your own comment. I hadn't noticed that the thread was updated.

Does anyone think there's likely to be a sale of some kind on TE sticks when SSF4AE comes out, or perhaps a bundle? I'm not sure whether or not there was something similar with the release of SSF4, but I'm hoping I'll be able to get a TE stick for around $100 rather than the standard $150 price.

Also, what's the difference between the standard TE, TE Round 2, and TE S sticks?

TE & TE Rd 2 are exactly the same except for the artwork and the case (the TE has white edges, TE2 is all black). The TE S uses a slightly newer PCB that allows you to lock the start & back/select buttoms, and gets rid of the sides completely.

As far as deals, MarkMan mentioned their Power-Up sale a few weeks ago was going to be the last one for a while. I know the supply is slim on TEs right now so you probably won't see another sale until closer to EVO.

The TE is great. I have two of them (and an SE) and absolutely love em. The newer HRAPs do look very nice though - I just wish the start button wasn't on the face.
