Anyone in the Miami Fl area collect retro games? If so how do you all survive?
From what I can tell all we have are Gamestop's, and then finally when we got a play and trade anywhere near me, it closed down! I know that a lot of people go online to get things, but i've always kind of liked the thrill of going into a store and not knowing what you are going to find.

I visit the flea market...and that's about it. We had a few retro shops around, but they closed down quickly because of the areas they set up shop in and were always surrounded by a GameStop nearby. :\

Miami seems like it'd be a decent place for Craigslist finds. I'm in northern Florida and rarely find anything, maybe the whole state is just bad for it >.>

Thats y i love tampa. Its not a far drive to st pete, clearwater, largo, lakeland, etc. There are deals all over those areas if u know where to look.

As far as miami goes, one i went down there but all the play n trades had closed, leaving just gamestops. And my friends down there tell me the flea market is overpriced.

So it seems like there really isn't much hope for me is there?

I think there is a Play N Trade that is relatively close to my Girlfriends house that I am going to check out one of these days.

It all depends on when you go and who's selling. I've come out of the flea market with some amazing finds and at great deals. Just always be sure to avoid the obvious dealers and you should be good.

There's a Play n Trade on 87th Ave. and Miami Gardens Drive.

Don't ask me how the selection is though, I rarely go in there.

This is true, I saw many retro game in the Flager Flea Market but I think they closed it down with the new Magic City Casino there. Should hunt at the next nearest flea market.

Before that magic city casino was erected that flea market used to be an awesome place. Games were totally overpriced but there was usually always something you would be itching to buy. When i go down there i concentrate on the very few and far between small thrift shops. One time i bought about 15 sega genesis games including a very cool venom game i later flipped for like 35 bucks on ebay when i bought it for 50 cents. This place was on flagler and 51st ave. Church thrift shop.

Funny. Every Play-N-Trade in Orlando has shut down and been replaced with a GameStop. Pretty sad, but I guess your best bet is to go to different thrift stores and garage sales. I've seen a bit of Atari games and systems at thrift stores in crappy places.
