Fallout Collection $6.13 Amazon

good deal. What I found interesting was the what Amazon recommends to bundle it with. Planescape: Torment normally $80 is only $15. All great games!

huh, ya planescape was pretty sweet too. Looking at the total the game actually puts me at 24.50 >_< .50 under free shipping.. damnit i need somethign else now lol

ya your right the planescape vendor has a not so hot rating. Still, from a decent vendor it would be nice to have a hard copy. I dont like digigal copies of games

anyway the initial post was about fallout, straight from amazon not a 3rd party seller

Hm, tempting, but I feel like it'd be worth it to wait for a sale on GOG, with no DRM and which should be optimized for installation on newer machines.

get the GOG version, it's 10. Then follow their links to the mods that allow you to play at any resolution and widescreen. works on any infinity engine game.

ya a lot of people like digital crap. Personally i need to have a hard copy. I worry about the future of gaming if everything just goes into digitial format. Sucks for collectors

anyway, for those that want a hardcopy that price is hard to beat
never heard of those games are they good?
.... im assuming your being sarcastic with a name like that? lol

Just a bit of warning. This is a European version and they removed all the children unlike the US version. Some important quests will be impossible to complete but games are still beatable. And depending on how new your Windows OS is there could be some problems running this games.

Just get the GOG version without all the hassles.

thanks for the info Laaj, i just canceled my order. Glad i read that before going to bed. I was unaware that they censored the UK version. Out of curiosity why did they remove children? because you could murder them or something? Censorship of any kind is fail in my book. I guess if i want it i'll snag the US version sometime. Digital copies are fail for me

*EDIT* doing some googling it seems the GOG version might also be the European censored version, not the US one. So i think you'll have the same problem getting it there as you would buying this 6 dollar version.

I've got the US disc version and because it uses a pre-Windows XP installer, it can be a hassle to get it installed on modern computers. If you go that route, be prepared to do some workarounds to get it running.

The GOG version is already configured to install and run on modern systems without any headaches. There's a patch that's supposed to put the children back in the UK version that's located right here. I would imagine it will work for both the disc and GOG version, but for $5.99 the GOG one is your best option at this point.

Fallout 1 and 2 were so awesome. I love the voice acting of the MASTER and the boss of the 2nd one :) such great enemies and plots

You can get planescape torment for 9 bucks on gog.com though and it comes with all the bonus stuff, and is meant to run on current operating systems vs buying a old copy thats still meant to run on windows 95. Plus buying from gog.com is the better place to spend your money, those guys really deserve every cent they make. And if you dont like digital, they have it so you can download the entire .exe in full so your free to back it up on medium you wish to and reinstall anytime you like.

They have a lot of really great games on there and recently started releasing EA owned games, so Im excited to see what other EA games they will put out next.
That would be great, but the review states that may be misleading.

I'm running Windows 7 and would love to find an updated version of the trilogy. The version the OP linked is buggy as shit and I've tried patching it.
As a lot of people suggested, GOG is your best bet. No DRM + Extras (like digital artwork, instruction manual, wallpaper, soundtracks, etc.) and they've reworked it so that it's compatible with recent OS's.

Plus, this may seem silly, but their digital bookcase goes a surprisingly long way toward replicating that physical feel.

I used to have to have a physical copy of a game but I am ready to embrace the digital age on PC at least. I have so many games that I am running out of places to put them.

Do you know if I & II are also offered and function on Steam like the GOG?

I just don't want to make another account and don't use Steam all that much.

But, the $5.99 each per title is more than fair, and I can finally play them...

I noticed the GOG version states PEGI and NTSC ratings.
Is the download you get based upon your location?
Since I'm in the states, I should not get the gimped, kids free version, right?

Nevermind - It appears #2 is the gimped version.

Finally, I was able to get this game to run properly...at least what I have seen thus far.

I found this on GOG and used it on my PC copy and voila!
I had done the hi-res patch before, but thought it was automatic and did not realize I needed to go in and change the display.

Now, for Fallout 2.
