Is Sony seriously charging $60 for GOW: origins?

For those that don't know, God of War: Origins collection is an HD version of the two PSP games (Chains of Olympus, and Ghost of Sparta). This didn't seem too different from having HD revamps of games like God of War I and II, but I look on amazon and see it's going to retail for $59.99. What.the.fuck?

People bitch when these collections are priced at $40, there's no way in hell it's worth $60. Hopefully the listing is wrong, or Sony comes to their senses

I had heard it was going to be $40 - similar to the Splinter Cell and Tomb Raider re-releases.

I want to pick it up but refuse to pay more than $35 brand new for most games.

just wait till the price drops if i remember correctly the gow collection dropped pretty quick ill pick this up when i can find it for 20.

Probably just a placeholder price to get the pre-orders rolling in without the possibility of having to honor orders at a cheaper price.

I see them putting it at $60 as a "just in case". If they price it $40 and the official price is $60, their pre-order price guarantee means they're going to be honoring those $40 pre-orders. Whereas if they price it $60 and it goes down to $40, they don't lose anything.

I see nothing wrong it. Get $60 from hardcore GOW fans early and drop the price in phases to get sales from less hardcore.

no way,
sony has yet to brake a game and make a real hd remake, all they do is brighten the color of the blocky looking people in the game
They haven't announced a price yet. It's a placeholder price.
That's what I'm thinking. It's just odd that Amazon posted it. Often if they don't have an official price, they wouldn't list a placeholder one

I'm concerned that Sony looks at these PSP re-masters differently than they would PS2 ones and feel justified in charging more for them. They also added 3D support and some other stuff which may also help justify it in their minds. But hopefully I'm wrong there and it is $40 or less

And yet another internet person falls victim to "Jumping to conclusions when they dont know the truth" yet again. Damn you infernal internet you make people jump up and down bitching like little girls over stupid shit when they infact did not hear the information directly from the source.

Now, if you will untwist your panties you might notice that sony DID NOT confirm a price or even announce it yet. Maybe you should wait for a official confirmation from the source instead of assuming things.

Placeholder prices are like placeholder street dates. They put in something just so they can list the product and will adjust details when its official. They probablly listed it at 60 since that is the average price for a new ps3/360 game because they dont know the true msrp yet. Do you think they are stupid? What did you think amazon would say "Well 60 seems unfair so will list it at 30 and let people pre order it", then what happens if the msrp is 40? Amazon just lost 10 bucks for every pre order made.

I think they should price this one at $30. The two console games were 8-10 hours long but the portable ones are much shorter. Chains was only 5 hours long and I heard Ghost of Sparta was only 8 hours long.

^^^ it'll be $40 but it releases in sept. you'll be able to get it for $20ish on black Friday. Just hope it's in stock b/c it will go FAST. hopefully there will be a chance to get early access to BF deals like I did last year. Most of these collections will be $20.

This is what is happening and what will happen.
Id pay 60 for the Ico and Shadow of the Colossus bundle but not this...
Fukcing this, fuckING THIS!!!

Except luckily Amazon is only charging $40 for this. Plus it showed up in my Gold Box 2 years ago so I'm getting it for $37.99.

yeah ico and the sotc collection is definelty worth 60 considering how much a copy of ico goes for lol that to me would be a deal on top of that both games were off the charts amazing to this day i say the zelda creators need to look at how sotc did boss battles and work that into their franchises then maybe loz games wouldnt be so damn repetitive and stale.

This is MOTHERfuckING hilarious coming from the dude who basically guaranteed that Oblivion: 5th Year ed. would have trophies (see quote below). Something I showed was not the case and owned your troll ass. You haven't gone back to the thread to admit your failure.

And since you clearly have problems reading. I did not jump to any conclusions. I asked a question in the title, pointed to an observation made at Amazon, and concluded by saying hopefully the listing is wrong or Sony comes to their senses. I know your extreme post above was your way of compensating for me owning you in the other thread, but it just comes off being pitiful. What a complete and utter failure.

Still waiting for your response in the Oblivion thread. I left some nice crow in there for you troll and it's getting cold.
But this like I said is a new sku thus its considered a new release, they arent simply just making more of the exact goty thats already out. The ps2 re-releases is my point, they were games released on the system AFTER mandatory trophies and thus had to include them.

Im not going to debate it with you. When it comes out it will have trophies, Im right and your wrong, nyah nyah nyah and so on. Ill make sure I come back to bump the thread with a quote from you just incase you forget after the game is out that it has trophies.
I don't want to listen to your logic. I came in here to RAAAAAAAAAAAAGE at this great offense.

Maybe SOTC is worth that much, but Ico was a fuckin' snore to me. I had a copy from Sears that I think I paid $10 on clearance for. I opened it, played it for 2-3 hours and I was falling asleep playing it. Moreover, I hate, hate, HATED having to drag that helpless bitch in the game along with me. Such an annoying but pretty game, but pretty is just not enough for me to like a game.:whistle2:#

i can see the complaints about ico but that whole mechanic has been in alot of games and for me it was less annoying to deal with in ico than alot of other games where you have to escort this person from here to there without them dying. and at the time the look of the game was so fresh and amazing even now ico imo looks alot better than a number of games from this current generation.
Should be $30 at most. They are PSP games, incredibly short and not very impressive.
As far as action games go, these games are the two best action games on the system.

Also, their quality top notch. Sure, they might be a little short with UMD limitations but playing on the hardest difficulty you still got to sink a good amount of hours into them.

Action games are generally short.
Even on the 360 and the PS3

Just because a game is pretty does NOT make it fun imo. I'd take an ugly ass game that looks like an Atari 2600 title as long as it has some fun factor versus looking purdy and being shiny.:booty:

Why did you post this? Half of his comment was about the gameplay.

I was simply speaking on the tendency of many folks this gen to play only 'pretty' games and favor them over ones with actual gameplay.

I didn't really see the portion of his comment on the gameplay, but now that I do I again say that gameplay will always be tantamount over a game being 'pretty' to me.;)

I understand and agree with your point. I just don't see how it is pertinent here.

I still kinda liked the game but it isn't up there with SotC. Still psyched for the collection. (and this GoW collection, I never wound up finishing the first PSP one or buying the second)
What game is the last part of the video from?

Why wouldn't they charge $60? That's too full games that originally retailed at $80? Why is that a bad deal?

Still too pricey for me. I'm not one who'll buy it just for trophies right out of the gate, so I'll wait for it to drop to $19.99 before I pick it up. Plus, I played the shit out of both of them already, so I might not get it at all.

don't lie

I'll prob wait for the inevitable price drop as well, but no way I won't buy this someday. Love me some Kratos :bouncy:
