Pretty standard cost cutting revisions. manufacturing costs only get cheaper for these systems.

Yep, Sony found ways to make the PS3 even cheaper.

30W power reduction? Smaller RSX? I believe the CELL is down to 45nm...

It has been down to 45 nm ever since slim was introduced.

Looks like Amazon ran out of its current stock of PS3 consoles. I wonder if the CECH-3000 line will appear soon.

Agreed. There was some info about this new PS3 SKU posted in a previous thread here, to which I replied:

Rumor has it that the new PS3 will be HDMI connections only.

/edit: Oh so kotaku has that info. I got mine from somewhere else.

Sony responded to that and said it would require HDMI for Bluray movies but everything else would still be in HD through component. Part of some DRM for movies. Prior systems will not be affected I heard.
