I don't think this is a deal for everyone. It depends on your current Xbox Live status. One of my accounts was silver for about a month and about every week there would be a different Gold deal. Half off 3 month, 3 month + 1 month free, $35 year sub, etc.

Yeah I've got this one as well. My Gold ended last Friday, and this has been on my dashboard all week since going free again.

My dtr's gold ended today and it was on her dash. Not a very good deal unless you only plan to use gold for a short time ($50/yr if you were to get that rate for the whole year)

$1 a month is a deal; otherwise 48 hr cards work just fine. But that's just me.
