I usually go with first party controllers and accessories, but according to Amazon user reviews, the Logitech controller seems to be a little better. Does anyone here have experience with either of these?

I've always used the Logitech ones myself. They've been extremely good.

Isn't the officially licensed one actually made by Katana rather than Sony?

I bought the licensed PS2 Wireless controller from GameStop. It was terrible. The Analog sticks were extremely inaccurate. Playing Battlefront 2 on it was atrocious. I ended up taking it back.

I have a wireless logitech (up on my tradelist, as a matter of fact), the old model for the Cordless Precision that is shaped most like the dualshock and logitech's PC gamepads, I found the rumble was great, all the buttons swift and responsive; and the analog sticks were superior to Sony's Dualshock 2 sticks. Never encountered any lag, either.

I use the corded controller because I didn't like the extra weight from the batteries. but, if that wasn't such a sticking point with me, I'd be using the wireless controller.
