I'm leaning heavily towards this game. It's a shame I won't be making the tournament in LA, wanted to try for that one.

Is that the one that I keep hearing commercials for, COD XP?... was it something like $150 for 2 days, concert, free swag, and a voucher for the hardened edition.

Voucher for the hardened edition? Now I'm going to cry a river. Granted it was gonna cost me $650 to fly out and an additional $150 but that pays for half the tourney tickets right there.
 
The game has a ton of potential and if I could find a $20 GC from somebody like Walmart or Amazon I could probably not resist picking it up. I am interested to see more about the multiplayer though, as we know next to nothing about killstreaks, perks, even weapons and attachments. Also unknown is if the COD Points system has returned.
 
Shit, I just read more about the event. Paintball on real life scrapyard map. Geeze that might be worth it, how much is hardened edition anyway? 4 slots open for the $1M tourney for attendees (maybe a raffle or elimination tourney before hand - no specifics given yet). Basically the already invited tourney members are from COD BO...

If you really want to come out Mad, I am only about 45-60 minutes out from LA. You could crash on my couch if you want.

To be completely honest, the three people I had asked were completely unavailable. It's a 32 team single elimination with probably the qualifiers taking place on the 2nd and the finals on the 3rd. Without the three requested, I don't think I'd stand a chance remotely of winning and so it'd be an expensive investment for a Hardened Edition copy of MW3. I wanted a team to go all the way, unfortunately things didn't work out that way and so it'll be scrapped until the next tourney.

If you're wondering, I asked Snake, Nokill and Nokill's brother. Two already in California and our precious "Snaaaake!"
 
I'm still iffy on MW3. Probably will wait until January-February when it's on sale for ~$35-40, like what I did with MW2. I just can't justify pre-ordering it.

Are you still breaking controllers? It's cheaper to hit a pillow and you could get MW3 on release day. :lol:
 
Yes. Everyone that likes CoD must be a sheep. Nobody can just like the game because they think it's fun, right?

Hopefully this thread can stay on topic and not turn into a troll fest. The whole Battlefield 3 vs Modern Warfare 3 fanboy/troll wars has to be one of the lamest, saddest things I've ever witnessed in my entire life as a video game fan. Seriously.
 
I've never even played battlefield but yeah go ahead and babble about a fanboy war. I'm just dissapointed to see so many preorders when the last few COD were garb. MW3 isn't even being made by the same people so I don't know why people even would preorder such a game especially one were the best features are the unlockables. The gameplay is far and away one of the worst out there and i feel like gamers are pathetic when all they do is fall in line and get served another round of slop. It truely is a horrific newbfest and it should be a Wii only title cause its for casual gamers.

C'mon now everyone is entitled to their opinion but their are at least a few good or fun things about the Call of Duty series. It seems the hate train has reared its ugly head against CoD now, when it used to be for Halo. Again anyone can dislike the game, but constructive criticism is always better.
 
And we were doing so good ignoring the troll. All he does is bitch about how through game is bad because he sucks at it. Ignore him and all he does is his little potshot posting.

Haha nah, I've learned to stop taking video games so seriously. I'm just getting BF3 and trying to build a new computer, for MW3 isn't really in my budget.
 
Who was complaining again? Oh, that guy...the one who does on any and every MW thread. Pass the Haterade please. It's just a game, get over it. You think it sucks, yeah for you. Obviously there are millions (and millions of the Rock's fans) who don't think so.

Back to the point....I'm on the fence. BO was a let down and this is a new group doing this. I know I am getting Dark Souls, not sure what is next after that.
 
I'm down on getting it. I was totally shocked that Black Ops sold well as it did.
Just shows how strong the franchise is. I skipped World at War and Black Ops. Planning on jumping back on with MF3. Looks amazing, much more of a upgrade to the series vs a mod to a pre-existing game.

And yes, I"m buying BF3 as well. Telling u, spending about $400 -$500 in games... with a day job and g/f, its hard to juggle.

Kids these days....change g/f to wife and add a kid or two, then come back and talk to us. ;)

You missed zilch with BO unless you like RC cars running around everywhere.
 
Zombie mode in BLOPS is good, and i find S&D in BLOPS to be pretty good, but the netcode is pure trash in the game. Skipping right past BF3, online code means i cant take it to other peoples places and play it on their systems, so they can take their game and shove it.

LOL - Oh, I'm aware. approaching 30 and with the g/f for 8years. Marriage and kids are coming... just dont know when. =P
 
Im just glad the reveal is over with so we can disect the videos and get more details. It looks like MW2 Super Turbo EX edition, but with 16 all new maps and most of the BS from MW2 removed, its well worth the 60 asking price. Still day 1.
 
It is definitely turning out to be a very good looking upgrade from MW2.

The only things that concern me is how they did a whole dedicated feature to quick-scoping & noob-tubing in their main multiplayer trailer... just really? They then go on to bitch & moan about how secondary shotguns were over powered, while they show some one with a Dragunov sniper rifle as a secondary....

Another thing I would like to be elaborated on is their pointsreaks/perks, and how they correspond to the 3 pre-sets (Assault, Support, & Specialist). Are we limited to what pointstreaks we can & can not pick, by our pre-set class...?

Customizable Custom Games look to greatly welcomed for us, with the increased game mode list. Along with the whole Clan System.

My biggest request, by far, is that they make separate playlists with out: Snipers & Explosives (Grenades, Grande Launchers, Claymores, RPG's... etc...)

As for that Juggernaut footage; It looks easy enough to take down, but I welcome the addition of that. The only downside is it comes from a Care Package.... It will yield un-named amounts of laughter for us, in Private Games.

All in all, I think Mad just blew his load after plotting all of the devious things he can unleash, with his new box of toys.

So, that whole thing about collecting the dog tags, "kill confirmed" "kill denied"; I wonder if that just goes to the match death count, or if there's some sort of medic/revival type possibilities...Go to the tags to revive your teammates, if the enemy collects the tags you can't/auto go to respawn...

I just preordered the Hardened ($100 edition). I think I may do a blog about if it actually makes me better at the game. I've slightly improved from MW - MW2 - BlOps (.3-.6.-.9), curious to see what happens with MW3.

yeah, I think I bought COD4 around the time WaW came out (maybe later). I was a year or more behind the curve. 1st FPS I tried since Doom. Since then I've been getting slightly better with each game released.

At least you had 3 iterations to learn. I cut my teeth on MW2, I had like a .7 and was largely negative up until my last set of Prestiges. I'm looking forward to a fresh start with MW3, the people who were playing at XP looked pretty noobish from the vids I've seen. Lots of fail in the vids actually, I think the Nubble brothers, Snake and I coulda made some beastly promo vids at XP.

Hopefully they have one next year and I have nothing going on and I will definitely go!
