The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Game of the Year Edition Preorder (?) $20 + tax for XB

CAGiversary!
I have no idea why they list this game as a pre-order, as it has been out for quite some time, but it says you can pick it up starting September 13th for $20: http://www.bestbuy.com/site/The+Eld...402870447&skuId=3447104&st=oblivion&lp=1&cp=1. Maybe they are dropping the price and getting new inventory?

I've been waiting for the Shivering Isles expansion DLC to go on sale, since it costs 2400 MS points or $30. I don't know why the hell it still costs so much, since this game is so old. The Game of the Year Edition comes with both the Shivering Isles and Knights of the Nine expansion.

I haven't bothered to keep up on prices for this and just stumbled upon this today after browsing Craigslist for any cheap GOTY or Anniversary editions, but Amazon is selling it for $43 (http://www.amazon.com/Elder-Scrolls...72PG/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1314932596&sr=8-2), which is strange, considering the 5th Anniversary edition has more stuff and is going for only $30 (http://www.amazon.com/Oblivion-5th-..._1?s=videogames&ie=UTF8&qid=1314932934&sr=1-1). Whatever, now I can finally 100% this game and not pay overpriced DLC.

i don't get it. why are they releasing this version (5th anniversary in an normal case) when they already have a GOTY? or is there additional content that is not in the GOTY?

Oblivion 5th Anniversary Edition Contents

  • The Complete Oblivion Saga - The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion, The Elder Scrolls IV: Knights of the Nine Expansion Pack and The Elder Scrolls IV: Shivering Isles Expansion Pack.
  • Collector's Steelbook - A beautiful collectible metal case masterfully embossed with Daedric symbols.
  • Making of Oblivion - A behind-the-scenes documentary on the making of Oblivion.
  • Oblivion Game Map - A full-color map of Cyrodiil and the Shivering Isles.
  • Savings on Skyrim - Contains a $10 mail-in rebate offer for the purchase of The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim and a Skyrim strategy guide.
that's a better deal for 30$ for people whove never played it.

btw, to the OP. if you get the goty edition, you can just install the 2nd disc (the 2 expansions), then sell it to make it even cheaper for the expansions (since it sounds like you already own the normal version of the game). just a thought.
