That Garuda was a motherfucker!

I remember grinding for a bit and after I killed him, the rest of the game was cake, pretty much.

BTW, your avatar's from dat Berserk, right? Between Tommy Wiseau and that and the DDS, I think we might be the best internet friends ever now.

Yeah that's Mozgus from Berserk, who's the master of facial expressions.

Saw some Dark Souls being played at my buddy's place, it looks like a stupid amount of fun. I also got to see the framerate in Blight Town, I think it deserves an award or something :applause:

I hear the PvP is a lot worse though compared to Demon's Souls.

Dark Souls is great. I personally had barely any problems with framerate in Blighttown, though I understand it's a common problem. I mean, mine dropped a little but nothing that messed up my timing or caused a big problem.

Just beat Rogue Galaxy. It was all right, but there's something that's been bugging me:

This...
...sounds a lot like this, specifically the second part that starts around 0:35.
It got to the point where every time I entered battle, I would be like, "Skies of Arcadia!"

There's no rhythmic idle animations in Rogue Galaxy's battles, though :-(

What the hell! Ever since I got to Chapter 11 in FFXIII I have been getting owned a LOT. I don't know what the hell I am doing wrong or what, but I have died more in this Chapter alone than the whole beginning of the game combined. My party is Light, Vanille and Fang and I'm having a really rough time.

I ended up spending a good amount of time grinding CP even though it was suggested not to. I capped their primary roles but I was still losing to Tyrant and I'm pretty sure Juggernaut would own me too. What am I doing wrong? I have spent most of the time just leveling up in this Chapter and am gonna progress the story tomorrow. I didn't go further after grinding since I got a bit tired..

^ I pretty much did the same thing. Everyone kept saying "Chapter 11 is awesome, hang in there." I got there and did a few missions but ended up getting sick of it and just proceeded to the next chapter to finish the game. I actually perfer the first part of the game to the last part.

BTW Bigpimpin, your avatar is annoying as hell. Just puttin' that out there. It has no reflection on my feeling towards you.

Chapter 11 is the fields of pulse, the cave, tower, and the village if I remember correctly. There are some pretty nasty enemies in some of these places that are optional, so don't feel obligated to face something like Juggernaut, you can go back to him later. Saboteurs are always helpful on the big enemies, try to have Vanille get as many debuffs on them as she can before using Solidarity or any offensive paradigm. The Chapter 11 boss is brutal, let me know when you need advice when you get to it

I'm jealous you'll be seeing Chapter 12 for the first time soon, I think you'll enjoy the ending a lot.

@Rodimus - It is pretty freaking annoying now that I look at it. I think I've had it since I joined and have grown accustomed to it. I also did like the first 3 missions and couldn't even 5 star the second one so I decided to progress the story. Still ran into some trouble.

@panzerfaust - Yeap, that would be Chapter 11. I just got out of the cave and rode that Atomus or what ever that Fal'Cie is called. I then took him back to the optional area and that's where I grinded with those bombs. It went pretty quick since they gave me 7k points a battle.

As for the Saboteur thing I'm still kinda adjusting to it since it was hardly needed during the beginning of the game for me. Same goes for Medic, my HP is at the point where I can't really abuse Doctor's Code and Potions anymore since 300 is piss when my chars have 4k+ already.

Also, isn't there 13 Chapters?

Yeah there are two more chapters to go, and after you beat it you can keep the save file and go back to the hunting missions, which is really enjoyable end-game content as opposed to just grind quests. You also unlock the final Crystarium levels, which will make 5-starring those hunts much more doable.

Sounds good, I think I'll just finish the story instead of taking more side trips. From the looks of it, Treasure Hunter is gonna be quite time consuming. As is 5 starring all those missions. Been a while since I've put my patience to the test so hopefully I still have it in me.

Treasure Hunter is not an enjoyable thing to pursue, but if you must have your trophies than so be it

Yup, Chapter 11 is when things get interesting! The whole "Press A to win" thing pretty much goes out the window at that point. Putting status ailments on enemies is a must!

The enemies in 11 are a bit of a wake-up call but starting with the Chapter 11 boss and continuing through Chapters 12 and 13, the game really gets brutal. You will be a paradigm surgeon by the end, and like panzer said, the postgame bosses are a real blast.

I'm looking forward to FFXIII-2 a lot, despite FFXIII...

It seems like they've learned from their mistakes, and I'm just thinking that it'd be really cool to get a new console RPG that's actually good. What if it was more like what Square's RPGs during the PS1 era?

...but now that I think about it, that's too good to be true.

There's a lot of aspects of the PS1 era FFs I'd rather not see again.

Unless you're saying we need more Vagrant Story and Valkyrie Profile, which I would fully agree to :applause:

Finished up Chapter 11. The grinding I did earlier in the Chapter definitely helped out with the two boss battles. I only failed about 3 times on each before being able to conquer them.

Bart was definitely a pain but I remembered about the Eidolons healing and reviving your entire party.. I got pretty luck again on this one. Vanille and Fang were both dead and Lightning had like 600 HP. I summoned Odin and didn't bother going into Gesalt. Let his guage run out and my party was able to finish him off.

I think having Sprint Shoes for 2/3 of them and maxed out 2nd tier weapons for 2 of them helped me out immensely. I had been playing for 5 hours so I decided to jump off and leave the epic Ch. 12 scene for later today. Looking forward to it :)

Your list inspired me to remember which ones I've done:

Blue Dragon
Tales of Vesperia
Eternal Sonata
Lost Odyssey
Infinite Undiscovery
Magnacarta 2
and FFXIII currently

I picked up Demon Soul's a long time ago for my PS3 but I don't even use it :/ I lent it out to my friend since I doubt I'll even get around to it. Also have Last Remnant and Resonance of Fate in my backlog for 360

Is it bad of me that I just bought another PS2 memory card to just hold the save games for my RPGs?

I had one last night where I bought a Fang action figure for modding purposes. Can't remember what character I was going to mod her into, but it definitely wasn't another FF13 one.

Up to the final boss now in DDS.Got to the second and just got my ass handed to me in one turn.Haven't had to grind at all during this game, but it looks like I'll have to for this.

An amalgam of Yuna and Paine?

Edit: Or maybe that chick from Ikkitoisen, or Tenjo Tenge.

Just finished the story. I swear these things always get to me. No other genre to date fills me with emotion as much as JRPGs do. I'm such a fucking pansy. I really enjoyed the game and I am glad I gave it a chance. All the naysayers online were a bit too brutal on it I think. Sure, it wasn't the best Final Fantasy game but it was definitely enjoyable.

Now the real task begins. Post game goodness. Going to work on the missions and Treasure Hunter. Seeing as I have like 44~45 hours in right now, I'm probably looking at the same amount to 1000 it.

That's what JRPGs are best at, more than anything else.

Popped in Professor Layton and the Last Spector last night, and ended up playing London Life instead. Reminds me of a mix between Animal Crossing and the Sims... Not really sure why it's really considered an RPG yet, honestly.
