Need the best place to get my hands on the next shipment of PSP's-value package only. Noticed that thanks to the craptacular laws of supply and demand, lots of online retailers have been jacking their prices up to astronomical levels. (hear this..$280-500! for the simple value package on a pricegrabber search) screw that.
Hell..even those bundle deals are just ploys to dump some more crap accessories on the buyer and get rid of all those unwanted games.

HELP. THANKS.

What? Jacking up the price? There's more supply than demand, I see them everywhere. Just check local stores.

Kennewick
Moses Lake
Richland
Spokane
Veradale
Walla Walla
Wenatchee

There's a Hastings in all of those cities, find the one nearest you.. Hastings almost always has them in stock..

do you all think this is a sign of lesser demand than the DS' initial launch or just a case in which sony was more prepared at launch and was able to meet demand??

Without these laws, there would be no motivation to develop the PSP in the first place.

its been discussed at great lengths.. don't waste your breath nobody honestly cares.. Sony should just release the damned thing to Europe gamers apparently they'll be rabid over them.. here they had enough to keep everyone that wanted one happy and everyone else.. is awaiting a price drop or something. or at least ONE decent game.

Your best bet is B&M local since as stated earlier the aggregate supply is greater than the aggregate demand. Supposely only 1/2 of the initial shipment has actually sold through.

I believe it's more the high price of bundles being offered + lack of advertising + bad word of mouth about the quality.

What to me is so odd is that I walked into the Elizabeth NJ TRU three days after it's unveiling and asked if they had any, on a lark... secretly I hoped they didn't just so I wouldn't be tempted to get it if they did.

They did.

About 40 of them in a cart.

At 2 in the afternoon.

On a Saturday.

That same day I went into the BB in Secaucus, NJ to get a microwave....

They too had a shopping cart full of them.
No lines, no crowds, just one clerk monitoring all things PSP behind a table.

The time is now 3pm.

Wal-Mart was the only spot that didn't actually have any... but I chalk that up to the fact that EVERYONE went to this Wal-Mart in a 30 mile radius, so I wasn't surprised...
But they were the only ones that actually had a copy of MG Ac!d.

How very odd.

#-oCan someone explain how this is such a difficult thing to get? It's only when you go to the prime sources that focus on video games do you not stand a chance of it. I could go to at least a half-dozen places and get one right now if I wanted to. (Don't ask. I'm not doing that.)

I snickered at the 5 people who asked at my GS if they had any, only to be rejected... as I fitted my PSP for a new carrying case.... Headbanger's Audio BTW makes a great compact semi-soft case.

I would say they *almost* have enough for the people to return their dead pixeled PSPs 4 or 5 times :p

There is an oversupply of these devices in the midwest. I see them in every store in Indianapolis. Your store will have some in a few weeks because the midwest will not need another shipment.

Watchman. I'm amazed, they are completely nowhere to be found in the Woodbridge/Edison area...

Not that I want one anyway. :)
it's a little off topic, but is sony going to sell the psp just by itself?
Most likely no... but really, when you figure in the battery pack, headphones and sleeve alone, that would normally run you the full cost of what they charge now for the value pack.

Granted, I got a better case, but I'll use the sleeve for home use if I want to show it off.

For what you get with it, I would have to say that you for the better part do get your money's worth (Not to mention a free movie if you get one of the special boxes.)

Watchman - you do know the battery isn't an extra, you only get the one, it's a necessary inclusion.

I was personally hoping to hear of a "below regular price" deal as the bastards at Overstuckup.com finally canceled my order for the $225 PSP. Did anyone here get it at that price from them at all?

Iiiii don't know about that... I'd wager they'd still charge at least 200 for just the system and battery alone.

Sure, they wouldn't risk selling a battery pack-less version, but my point is that with just the battery vs. the value pack, this current option seems more ideal.;)

Availability isnt really an issue, they can be gotten, but at what price? I'd like to go out tomarrow and buy one but if you wanted to do it for less than 250 with two games you're completely assed out it seems.
