Catherine "Love is Over" Deluxe Edition (PS3/360) - $59.99 at Amazon.com

Well this is awkward :) I guess great minds think alike.

To keep the peace I'll delete my thread (even though it was created seconds before :O)

Decent price - it was only a matter of time. But I feel this may go a bit lower before they are all sold out.

This was a good game, but it was a one and done for me. The story was compelling, but the block puzzles got almost impossibly difficult by the end, even on easy. Buy it, play Through it once, and watch the other endings on Youtube.
Yeah, kinda funny how this was supposed to be for pre-ordering only.
Don't remind me... Ugh.

Sorry, I didn't realized that you had posted this before me, I checked before I purchased the game and then I posted it on CAG right away. My bad:error:

It's okay. They were literally posted seconds (less then a minute apart). I just figured I'd shut mine down so that we only had one up and running for this deal.

Now I really want to buy this but only to collect. I don't think any of my local Gamestops have it anymore so my only options is Amazon but I'd feel much better about myself if I was able to get it for < $49.99

Played the demo, was alright but I'm waiting for $15-$20 on the game itself since this CE is just packed with shit I won't use:

Cardboard pizza box - seriously?
Boxers (large) - I wear small briefs for my thunder thighs due to squats. Besides I don't wear ones with decals of any kind of them, especially not video game-related ones. I also laugh in reviews where they mention it has no fly. The hell? I must be the only person who pulls the entire front down to take a leak.
Shirt (large) - Again, decals. & it's a large, I'm not a "ghetto kid" anymore so baggy clothes aren't my thing. Then again I guess both of these pieces of clothing are for their more rotund section of the fanbase.
Pillow case - Decals.
OST - 10 or so songs compared to the ripped game OST floating around on every filehosting site by now.
Artbook - Every single time, I can find scanned pages as well as original art from fans on Danbooru & Gelbooru.

this CE has weird items (pizza box? boxers? pillow?) I guess it fits the theme of the game but still I don't feel I need any of them, the t-shirt is kinda cool though. I'll be picking up the standard version once it hits $25 or less

While most of that stuff is indeed trash, the soundtrack and artbook each have their merits. No scan can recreate the feeling and sheer depth of detail found in an artbook when you hold it in your hands, and similarly, an original CD has infinitely better quality than a standard MP3 rip; you're comparing lossless to lossy in most cases.

I was waiting for this game for ages. I held off on playing the regular because I assumed Newegg was gonna drop the price on the Deluxe sooner or later. Now that more of the fall games came out, do I want it? Not so much. Dark Souls CE is worth the $60 in my opinion. Catherine a box moving puzzle game? Not so much.

This game has been in my backlog for a while now. I lent it out to my one buddy to play and he only played it when I stopped over, so I got to see the entire storyline and at least one of the endings for it. But there's EIGHT endings to this game, so you could be at it a while if you want to play through to see ALL of them.

Mind ya, I just YouTubed the other seven, so I'll eventually get to this game.....someday.

But it's definitely a unique experience unlike any other games so far this gen.

hmmm I have a feeling amazon has loads of this in their warehouse, kinda makes me feel silly for buying the game at launch, but o well i guess the love is over edition isnt as limited as people thought

I think most people bought the deluxe LE at launch because atlus games are printed in few quantities, personally that shirt is cool haha B^)

i'm waiting on $15 for the game only and about $30 for the deluxe edition, hoping for a price drop on black friday :D

If the shirt were at least an XL I might grab this for laughs, but a large shirt on me would end up like that one episode of Family Guy where Peter is at Lois' sisters house n 'hulks out' of one of her ex hubbies' shirts.

I am waiting for this D.E. game to go down to $30 before biting. I have been screwed over so much on collector editions by buying them at release and not getting to them right away, then they are available for far cheaper. I actually waited on this D.E. and its paying off to wait. Plus the game isn't in my top category of games I must play asap, obviously.

it seems like im the only person who found these puzzles easy... even on hard lol

FUUU----

I literally bought PS3 deluxe version for $67 on Thursday.

Well, it's just $8 and I'm really enjoying the game, so it's worth it.

Yep! Atlus was already on thin ice with me but now I wont ever preorder/day 1 buy one of their games again just because its "limited". Atlus built a name for themselves by under printing their games and thus ensuring they sky rocket in value. I have always been ok with the fact that they have started printing enough that that is not always the case. However it pisses me off how often they hint or outright make a game sound like its getting a small print run and WILL be rare just to flood the market. I just cant trust them anymore.

Do you guys actually believe that any printing company/pressing plant is going to take exact number production orders?

"Hey, we received 12,358 pre-orders. Only print that many."

That's not how it works. You overprint something in case of error and to obviously meet the initial demand. Not to mention that these have to be made in time for release, so you get the initial pre-order numbers and run estimations on how many people will have pre-ordered by the time the game actually launches. The fact that there's so many of these still left can be easily explained by a variety of reasons.

You want to hate Atlus for making too many special editions of a highly anticipated title for them? Go right ahead and keep believing you're the center of the universe.

????

Bad Atlus you're not suppose to be making money. ;)

I understand your point, but seriously, if they know they are going to make a profit, they'd benefit from over printing the LE by X amount and making some money vs having to reprint (which probably isn't cheap) to satisfy demand. Instead of having people complain about the perceived value of their item not maintaining like their older releases that were LE's and are hard to find now. (SMT3 with soundtrack & DDS1/2 w/slipcover)

Remember when games were bought to PLAY?:) Ahhhh memories.

Now everybody(including me) keeps 'zomg stuff that should go rarez' sealed and then bitches when it doesn't.

I can't say I blame Atlus for overprinting these, since again the game is a breath of fresh air in a field of sequels and rehashes and relaunches and just crap in general.

Its not about making money. Its about lying to the consumer. Its about making something sound limited when its not. If they had just released Catherine id not have a word to say, hell if you read my post I make it very clear that I do not mind them releasing games and them not being rare anymore. I didnt even mind when they reprinted their older games driving the value of mine way down.

What I mind is them coming out and saying "we wont make more of these then there are pre orders, the demmand will equal the supply" and then breaking that. They have done this with several games now. So basically they built a reputation for releasing rare games and now love to come out and make it sound like their new release will be valuable like the older ones...yet never actually do that.

Yes but you overprint a reasonable amount. If they have 12,000 preorders then yes maybe you print 14,000 or something. It shouldnt be months later and something you hyped as limited is on sale.

LOL at people getting mad about supplies. Especially about people believing any company that says that anything is limited. I bought it cause its a good game, and I liked the extras. If the only reason you are getting it is rare, prepare to be screwed, its your own fault for putting faith in random company people and forum people telling you its "rare". :D

 Cause A = B 100% of the time. I remember hearing that the nano suit version or whatever version of Crysis 2 would be rare and guess what... it is. Sometimes it happens and other times it doesn't.

And show me were someone is complaining they made too many Nano versions? Oh yeah, you can't. My reply is about him whining about something being overproduced. Thanks for the reply though.

I pre-ordered, but then cancelled after playing the demo. Decided to wait for a price drop. Game looks unique, but I don't need to have it at release for $60. $20 would work though.

I likely would have kept the pre-order though if amazon would have offered a $20 credit. I was holding out for it, but when it never showed I moved on.

I always love when others whine about others whining. Nothing like crying about someone else complaining about something online.
