Beyond the Kairosoft "Story" games, I have never owned a mobile game that really hooked me.
Then I discovered these guys.

I'm totally hooked on Battleheart and Zombieville USA 2. Zombieville is a fun Beat 'em Up/Shooter with awesome unlockables and a neat little skill system. Battleheart has a nice battle system and requires fast thinking and shooter reflexes. Both games have great Castle Crashers style art and animation.
If you haven't tried the Kairosoft games I recommend those as well. Especially Game Dev Story and Mega Mall Story - followed closely by Grand Prix Story.
