Mass Effect 3 Hard cover strategy guide ($26.12)

I kinda want to get this, but Mass Effect was never a game I needed a guide for. I think I'll pre-order it and make my decision before it ships. Thanks OP

I know I regret not picking up the Skyrim one but I love discovering new things in Mass Effect. Made playing through it multiple times exciting because I discovered new things. I have this in my cart but I'm not committed yet. I may buy it at the same time that I buy all the books for the ME series.

Did you by chance get a ME2 CE guide when it pennied? I got one and really the guide was pretty bad. The author, i dont know was dry, uninterested and it seemed cliff noted, nothing like the Hodgson written guides. Anyway, the maps were okay, but the rest was worth about a penny.

Yeah, I bought the ME2 CE guide at release and it was quite disappointing. But also the game really didn't need a guide IMO.
isn't Prima the worst guide publisher? Have they done anything lately thats been good?
People are loving the skyrim guide.
No, Brady is the worst IMO. Their resonance of fate guide almost drove me nutty.

That guide may have been bad, but my experience with Prima guides is that finding anything competent from them is near impossible. It's great to hear that the company seems to have one good author, but after so many guides filled with lazy writing and misinformation, and even advertising extra content that wasn't in the guide at all, it takes a great deal of confident reviews to make me buy anything produced by them.

The majority of Brady guides have been at least reasonably competent, with a few nice standouts (Marvel vs Capcom 3 is regarded as the one of the best guides from any company). Definitely some junk, though.

Personally, I always become excited when I read that a game is to receive a guide by Piggyback. Bayonetta, Final Fantasy XIII, Resident Evil 5, and Uncharted 3 all had beautiful, exceptional guides, especially their hardcover versions. Too bad the Bayo guide was never published in the US.

I ordered this when it appeared in my gold box a couple months ago

it varies, I think it really comes down to the guide's author more so than the publisher (though Prima did use to have the worst quality binding)
