When you get awards for doing things on the site (e.g. www.cheapassgamer.com/forums/member.php?u=10036#awards), they have hidden point values associated with them - the points total you're seeing is sum of those values. We're not doing anything with it yet, but it's probably going to be used in a more significant way after the next version of the site goes live.
