whats the difference between HD versions of IOS games?

ive been interested in some games but there are 2 versions, regular one and HD, you could think the HD version is the one for the ipads but the ipad screen doesn't really have any advantage on the iphone 4 display, so what gives?

the ipad screen is bigger, so if you play iphone version they are not as clear

Very pixelated on an iPad

Yeah the HD versions are just optimized to run in full resolution, full screen on the iPad. The iPhone version you either have to play in an iphone sized window on the screen, or double it which makes things very pixelated.

Some apps are optimized to work fine in both, but if there's an iPhone and iPad version (regardless of whether the iPad version is called HD) that's the difference.
