Completion Log

3/23 :360: Mass Effect 3 (WRPG) - 43:15 (44h 13m), Paragon Male Soldier, Casual
6/30 (Most Recent Date Played) Multiplayer - 324h 36m, N7 600, 24/24 non-human characters, 16 character promoted
Total Playtime - 368h 49m, 1 playthrough + Multiplayer
- 8/10: Shooting mechanics are more polished than Mass Effect 2 and missions have more variety. However, this entry takes steps backwards in terms of RPG mechanics: Fewer choices, conversations with teammates are sparse, only one "town" to explore. Ending is as disappointing as advertised.

6/12 :360: Costume Quest ("JRPG") - 5h 1m
- 7/10: Fluid and fun diversion, but lacks depth.

6/12 :360: Costume Quest: Grubbins on Ice ("JRPG") - 1h 27m
- 7/10: Short but sweet. Cliffhanger ending suggests perception may improve if all current and future DLC and original game is considered one complete item.

7/4 :360::ps3: Hard Corps: Uprising (Scrolling Shooter) - 8h 57m (Bahamut)
7/4 Saiyuri - 4h 35m
7/4 Cooperative: Harley Daniels - 4h 54m
7/6 Extra Playtime (Most Recent Date Played) - 6h 41m

Total Playtime - 25h 7m, 3 Playthroughs
- 8.5/10: Deepest Contra game yet with fluid platform/shooting mechanics and addicting upgrade system. Farming points can be grueling though, unless somehow exploited.
7/12 :360: Bastion (Action RPG) - 9h 24m
7/13 New Game+ - 3h 26m
Total Playtime - 12h 50m, 2 Playthroughs
- 7.5/10: Narrator enhances fairytale atmosphere, but distances the player from the characters. Environments are beautiful, but repetitive. Large arsenal of weapons, which are well-balanced, but gameplay itself could use more depth.

7/14 :360: Beyond Good and Evil (Adventure) - 14:45+ (18h 0m)
- 9/10: Easily likable characters and a rich (if small) world that is bursting with personality are supported by a decent storyline. Incorporates a wide variety of gameplay elements including stealth, fighting, photography, exploration, shooting and chase sequences. Though none of these elements are particularly deep, the whole is much greater than the sum. Lots of potential for BG&E2 if Ubisoft can improve on all these aspects (and if it ever comes out). Great music.

January (1)
:ps3: Uncharted 3 - Story was great and really kept the game moving but the combat was Uncharted 1 frustrating at times. Also some awesome set pieces.

February (1)
:360: Dead Island - Pretty fun co-op experience, though it goes downhill from the starting area. The story had a nice hook at the start but had a bolted-on Wesker ending.

Currently Playing
:ps3: LA Noire Complete Collection
:360: Space Marine

Hm, well I haven't been very good at keeping track of these things lately, but I've also not beaten many games in the past 6 months as I was pretty hooked on Monster Hunter Tri. Though I suppose I can try again now that I've purchased a 3DS and have been playing other games.

1. Braid (Mac) - I bought this one on a whim when I noticed it was on sale in the Mac app store for $4.99. I had heard good things about it, so I decided to give it a try. Of course, it ended up blowing me away. The visuals and music especially were so fantastic, I wish more developers wouldn't shy away from more traditional instrumentation in video game music. Even though it was short, the length was perfect for the price. Some puzzle pieces took me quite a while to figure out, but I never got bored of trying to find the solution. 9/10
2. Kirby's Dream Land (3DS) - Not much to say here, it's Kirby before copy abilities were introduced. It's decent fun for about...30 minutes. But I'm not complaining, it was free from Club Nintendo. 5/10
3. Fallout 3 GOTY Edition (PC) - This game was pretty daunting at first, and it took a little while to get into it (along with taking a while to get it to work on Windows 7...), but once I did it was so rewarding and immersive. 10/10

4. Mario vs. Donkey Kong: March of the Minis (3DS) - Fantastic puzzler, also got through Club Nintendo coins. All 100 gold stars obtained. 8/10
5. The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword (Wii) - Finally completed this after sending in my broken Wii and getting it back. Not going to act like this game wasn't a chore to play some of the time; I really had to force myself to play it to get to the good parts. The bad: controls were frustrating/not as intuitive as I hoped, visual mish-mash of realistic style/cartoon style, worst overworld in a 3D Zelda. The good: item collection/forging system (though it could've been fleshed out more), later dungeons (especially the last one), Silent Realms were fun. Overall, my least favorite 3D Zelda (my list: WW > OoT > TP > MM > SS). 7/10
6. Aladdin (SNES) - My roommate's SNES is set up in our kitchen, and I beat this in about 45 minutes while some friends were over just hanging out and drinking some beers. I've beaten it once before but I don't think I listed it, so now I am. It's actually a fun little platformer, if simple. 6/10
7. Fluidity (Wii) - Probably my new favorite WiiWare game, topping Cave Story, Mega Man 9 and 10, and World of Goo. It's an incredibly innovative platformer/puzzler that ended up being so much more than I thought it could, given the premise. You play as WATER, after all. I would just repeatedly find myself giddy with glee over a unique puzzle that I just solved. Sometimes the puzzles include little games within the game too, like pinball or controlling a firetruck to put out flames. I also thought the difficulty was perfect. 9/10
8. Kid Icarus (Wii) - I downloaded this years ago, but got stuck on level 1-3 and quickly "shelved" it. A few days ago I started over, and quickly became addicted to it for a short period. When I read more about the game and how to level up, it became more enjoyable and somewhat easier (though still pretty difficult). There's good variety in the levels, and it's one of the more intricate/complex NES titles I've played. 8/10

9. VVVVVV (3DS) - Downloaded and beat the game in one session, very charming. Love games like this that push the envelope. 8/10
10. Mario Party 9 (Wii) - I bought this on a whim, I really just wanted a party game to play with some friends and hadn't played a Mario Party game in a while. I flew through single player mode during the last couple days and even though it is even more luck-based then I remember other Mario Party games being, it seems like it could be a lot of fun in multiplayer. I have yet to play with other people though, so I don't feel like I can properly rate it.
EDIT: Finally played it with others and we had a good time. We played one time through the normal game, then everyone decided we should just play minigames, which was more interesting for everyone (though I still enjoy playing the actual board game as well). 7/10
11. Super Mario Land 2: 6 Golden Coins (3DS)- Fun game, but way too easy. The only challenging level is Wario's Castle. 7/10
12. Super Mario Bros. (3DS) - I got to level 7-4 before having to use save states, then I had to resort to saving and loading to beat the rest of the game. I would like to try beating it without them sometime though, I'm sure I could do it (after I learn the trick routes in some of the later fortresses...) Also, I didn't use any warps. It's amazing how well this game actually holds up. 9/10
13. Kid Icarus: Uprising - This game is incredibly impressive and I can tell I'll probably be playing it for a while. The only area that I can fault this game in is the controls, which by the end of the last chapter, I STILL didn't feel like I had a good grasp of them. I'm starting to replay levels though and also play online some and I think it's finally starting to settle in. It's really nice to see voice acting in a Nintendo game, quality voice acting too. Also a fantastic soundtrack. Also tons of achievements/unlockables. 9/10

14. Metal Torrent (3DS) - Free Club Nintendo game, and boy is it bad. I just played it for the first time last night on the easier of the two modes and beat it in about 15-20 minutes. It's a vertical scrolling shooter with none of the parts that makes those games fun. First of all, the hitboxes are WACK and even though it looks like you're getting hit a lot, I actually hardly got hit at all til the later levels, but getting hit doesn't kill you, it just takes some of your health away, which regenerates in a few seconds. Because of this, I only died once the whole time, which was on the last boss (who happens to be the same as the first and second bosses). You also start with the ability to shoot your lasers 5 directions, filling almost the whole screen. Why they start you off this overpowered I have no idea, and powerups are non-existent. I could go on, but meh...3/10
15. Castlevania: The Adventure Rebirth - Beat this game on easy after watching my roommate beat it on normal. It only took about an hour. Next I gotta step it up to normal (and my roommate is going to try hard...) 7/10
16. 3D Classics: Kirby's Adventure - Beat this on the NES a while ago and now I've completed it again on 3DS. 100% file. 9/10

I think I'm going to retire this and future completed game posts in favor of just tracking my beaten games with the Backloggery and GameFAQs. This just adds a third method of tracking that is not really needed anymore.

EDIT (8/2/12): well I do enjoy doing these mini-reviews so I think I'm going to update this list a bit:

17. Art Style: Pictobits - Quite the fun little puzzler. Blocks fall, you use existing blocks to match to falling ones of the same color via the touch screen, then they form pictures of familiar 8-bit characters. Lots of nostalgia in this one. 8/10

18. Xenoblade Chronicles - This was definitely my main summer game this year. 80% of my gaming time from April 6th until mid-July was this game. I'm sure I will have great memories of this game's music and environments for years to come. Seriously, it's probably got the best environments of any game I've ever played, and a top 5 contender for music. 10/10

19. Pilotwings Resort - I really enjoy the Pilotwings series, though this is probably the worst of the 3 games. I wish they didn't "merge" it with the Wii Sports series; my biggest complaint is only having one environment to fly around in, and that environment is ripped from another game! Still, quite enjoyable and relaxing. 7/10
20. Pushmo - Probably the most innovative game I've played in recent times, the polish and presentation is beautiful. 9/10
21. Limbo - Great little puzzler/platformer with atmosphere out the roof, but in general the puzzles never reached the excellence level of Braid. 8/10
22. Fallout 3: Mothership Zeta - Probably the worst of the Fallout 3 DLC because of the repetition, but still pretty fun. The best part of this one is definitely the Japanese samurai, I was LOLing at him every time. 8/10
23. Super Mario Kart - This game is so frustrating, I know it was the beginning of a great series but I can NOT look back on this and say "this is a great game." I just got gold medals on all four cups in 100cc. 5/10
24. Fallout 3: Operation Anchorage - I love how the different Fallout 3 DLC packs feel like different games sometimes. This one did. I loved the setting and how this felt more like a Tom Clancy game through a Fallout lens. The best part? You can't pick up every little damn item you see! You can only pick up things that glow RED! Part of me wishes the whole game were like this. 9/10
25. Fallout 3: The Pitt - Really not much to say about this one, nice story and setting and kept me interested the whole time. 9/10
26. Super Metroid (VC)- Finally got around to playing this, and of course it's fantastic. One minor complaint: the map icons don't change after you've found a powerup! So confusing. 9/10
27. Fallout 3: Broken Steel - I was a little skeptical about this one until I reached Adams Air Force Base. Wow. The Tesla Cannon is so much fun. 9/10

EDIT (11/14/12): Just read your post Arben....I'm updating for ya!

28. Kirby's Pinball Land (3DS VC) - I love Nintendo's pinball games, and this one is no exception. I beat it using save states because it's ridiculously hard to beat without them, although I have made it up to Dedede without them before. 9/10
29. Super Mario Land (3DS VC) - I beat this when I was younger but I ended up re-purchasing for the nostalgia factor. Enjoy this one more than SML2 actually, for level design reasons. 7/10
30. Face Raiders (3DS) - not sure if I should count this...but a pretty fun pack-in game for 3DS. And it's developed by HAL Labs, I believe. 6/10
31. Portal 2 (Steam) - This past August I started getting back into playing games on PC via Steam due to my interest in the new Counter Strike GO (which I purchased and have since played more than any other game listed here, but won't be listing for the obvious reason that it is not beat-able). Portal 2 was one I picked up during the summer sale, and I have to say I was blown away just as much as I was when I played the first Portal, which is saying something. 9/10

32. Super Meat Boy (Steam) - I've never played a game that's made me feel like I've improved/made progress as much as this game has. Some levels I've started off thinking it was impossible, and minutes later I'm completing it. It was brutal to be sure, but never to the point of me getting mad, even through the thousands of deaths. I actually got 106% completion/Golden God achievement! 9/10
33. Kirby's Return to Dreamland (Wii) - Co-op playthrough with my girlfriend. Lots of fun, and I love the move variety with each different copy ability. There are so many moves! 8/10

34. Wizorb (Steam) - Great little RPG/breakout hybrid (though very light on the RPG and heavy on the breakout). First game I got all achievements for on Steam. 8/10
35. Kirby's Dream Land 2 (Wii) - Good game, not much to say about it. Much more fleshed out than the first. 7/10
36. Pilotwings (Wii) - One of my favorite SNES games. Finally beat the damn helicopter level that I was stuck at years ago, AND the second one which was pretty crazy. 9/10
37. Bit.trip Runner (Steam) - Very fun, very hard/unforgiving. One hit and START THE LEVEL OVER. Love the style though. 8/10
38. Code of Princess (3DS) - Somewhat disappointed with this. I just don't enjoy the combat as much as I thought I would, and the slowdown with 3D on is atrocious; it's the first game that I play without 3D on the system. 6/10

39. Radar Mission (3DS) - Kinda fun old GB game with two game modes, one being classic Battleship and the other being an action game where you try to take out enemy ships with your submarine. Beat both modes with save states. 6/10
40. Jamestown (Steam) - Beat Divine (second hardest difficulty) with 2 other friends...it was pretty brutal, but this is a very well-crafted game. The music is FANTASTIC and I really love the presentation. 9/10
41. Just Cause 2 (Steam) - After starting the first Just Cause and getting near the end and quitting in disgust of how bad it is, this game is a breath of fresh air. It's everything the first one tried to do, but done right. The grappling hook/parachute combo is the most fun ever. 30% completion at time of endgame, continuing now in Mercenary mode. 9/10

42. Bioshock (Steam) - Really great atmosphere and gameplay. My problems lie with the repetitive environments. I much prefer outdoor areas to indoor when it comes to FPS's, though obviously that wouldn't have worked with the setting. Also I felt like I got too overpowered by the end of the game. All those wrench plasmids...powered up wrench + swing faster + getting health and eve for every wrench hit = kill everything easily except big daddys. 8/10
43. Rayman Origins (Wii) - Awesome art design and music, but I wasn't a huge fan of the controls or the hit detection. Actually completed this one. 8/10
44. Colour Bind (Steam) - Neat little puzzle platformer that starts off simple enough and becomes incredibly infuriating at later levels. It is very difficult to control your car. 7/10
45. The Binding of Issac (Steam) - I know there's plenty more to do in this game, but I did beat Mom for the first time. It seems like a pretty deep experience that I'm looking forward to playing more. 8/10
46. Mario's Picross (3DS VC) - Beat every single puzzle without hints. Some of the later ones are very difficult and require some good guessing, but it was fun. 7/10
47. Paper Mario Sticker Star (3DS) - Really enjoyed this despite all the flak it got. Some puzzles are very frustrating, yes, but I can't deny how charming the game looks and feels. It's very well-polished. 8/10
48. New Super Mario Bros. U (Wii U) - Challenge mode is the best thing to happen to NSMB ever. 9/10

This is interesting to me. I have done a lot more collecting than completing lately. I'm going to set a goal of 40 titles finished this year, because I'm already losing if I say 1 a week.

Hooray for Page 5 - I flip through when I update but so many of these posts are already abandoned, and almost nobody writes anything about their gaming (I know it's more about listing, but I like reading the capsule reviews and such). Cheers to melatonin! But then after he quit the thread, Booooo to melatonin! But then after he came back, hooray for melatonin!

Not much gaming in March. Mostly TV and writing. +10 to movies in the first week of April though!
Then in April and May and June I went back to doing stand-up at nights, and in June and maybe May I spent time reading books instead of playing games or watching movies.... Anticipating a return to videogames as the foreground recreation activity if the summer steam sale hits. Through July and August, gaming time has been dominated by the boardgame Arkham Horror. The summer has seen over 30 games worth.

Final Edit:
I'd say this project was a success. I didn't finish 40 games, but I did play at least that many. 30 completed, with 5 that have no real end point, 7 more that are in some state of progress. I'm glad I kept up with it throughout the year. Of course, it's still a net loss on the backlog, or the shelf crowding, but there you go. The story continues in 2013 HERE

January (4):
:pc: - Bastion - finished once - going through in NG+ for the other ending, achievements. 3/5
:pc: - Medal of Honor (2010) - Glad it was only $2 from Amazon. The campaign was 4 hours long on hard mode. I expected this going in and thought for the price, short is fine, it'll be like a cool action movie. It was like Lions for Lambs: The Movie. 2/5
:ps3: - Conan - I was told this would be fun by someone that I hope was thinking of another game. I have never read the Conan books or seen the movies all the way through, but from this I gather it's the story of the world's worst swordsman, or perhaps a foot soldier separated from his regiment and quickly killed. Buggy, dumb design, bad acting, stay away. 1/5
:pc: - Zuma's Revenge (Adventure Mode) - Thankfully, neither this game nor Picross 3D have gotten the obsessive hooks into me the way their predecessors did back in the day. One level towards the end gave me a lot of grief, so I finished on my last life, which was pretty exciting. 4/5

February (2):
:ps3: - Uncharted: Drake's Fortune (Platinum) - This was fun. Much more the 'action movie' experience I was looking for earlier. Hunting around for shiny treasure breaks the cinematic experience a little bit though. UPDATE: My first Platinum trophy! Played through Crushing mode, then went back to find the treasures I missed, then went back through to get the treasures I just got but didn't save properly somehow. 4/5
:pc: - Coinbox Hero - Just a little diversion. Not as much fun as Achievement Unlocked, from the same dev. Sure, it's weird to count this. 3/5

March (1):
:360: - Crackdown - This was a little like Brink meets inFamous. Open city, people constantly shooting at you like crazy, story doesn't make a lick of sense. All I wanted to do was collect green orbs and I ended up killing a crazy amount of so-called "criminals." I ended up with 444/500 green orbs, 88/300 blue orbs, and 435/1250 gamerscore. I jumped everywhere on rooftops and barely got in any of the slow, fragile cars, so I'm not going to bother with the 16 driving achievements. Overall, more fun at the beginning than the end, since there was no more leveling up to do in the last third of the game, and the third borough is much less friendly to jumping around everywhere. 3/5

April (1):
:pc: - Faerie Solitaire - I won this on steamgifts.com. Played it extensively while doing some research tv-watching for a script. I've finished the story and got every achievement except the one for finding all the (randomly distributed?) pets. 3/5

May (1):
Posted Image - Hero Academy - Didn't think I'd stick with this as long as I did, but I've bought 2 expansion teams, racked up enough wins to get into the top 2000 players (of 170k or so) and got almost every achievement for the teams I have. The art design is terrific. 4/5

June (1):
:360: - TMNT: Turtles in Time - Hard mode. Local Co-op. Almost no achievements. 3/5

July (6):
:pc: - Borderlands - Played as the sniper. This is like Diablo FPS - shoot and loot. And fetchquest. I'd gotten about 1/2-2/3 through a while back, and since lost the save game. Definitely got a little dull by the time I made it to about that point again. Doing all the missions meant I was perpetually a few levels ahead of the mission ratings. DLC awaits. 3/5
:pc: - Borderlands DLC: Mad Moxxi's Underdome Riot - This isn't beaten exactly, but I'm done with it. What a slog. 25 waves of enemies you can fight for no XP, times three, nets you three levels of 100 waves each. This expansion is like a 2 gallon bowl of Kellogg's Frosted Flakes. Iiiiiiiiiiiit's Tedious! 1/5
:pc: - Borderlands DLC: The Zombie Island of Dr. Ned - For contrast, this was lots of fun. I think I had more fun working through this self-contained module than I did playing the main game. Some nice design touches, couple good jokes, and that irritating Defiler. 4/5
:pc: - LIMBO - This was terrific. Interesting and stressful and worrisome and also fun. And there's bear traps! I like bear traps. Short, works with the 360 controller, puzzle platforming but not overly fiendish. :applause: Only picked up half the achievements on the first run, and finished it in one sitting except for pausing to recommend it to someone. 5/5
:pc: - Insanely Twisted Shadow Planet - Also pretty rad. A little like Pixeljunk Shooter, with looks not unlike Samurai Jack, with exploratory gameplay like Super Metroid. Maybe 6 hours to complete the story. Now I want to play the MP mode and go back to figure out how to get in the one area of the map I missed. 5/5
:pc: - Bulletstorm - This feels like an arcade game that should have a big rumbling plastic machine gun. Hopefully it's supposed to be a joke version of a Gears of War. Some fun set pieces and cool levels. Lots of quick time events. Lotsa bad dialogue. The AI companions love to stand between you and a target. It's lucky bad guys don't know to shoot barrels. Tricky plot, which made for a longer game than I'd expected. Beat the story in one 8-10 hour evening, mopped up some achievements the next day. Don't plan to try the multiplayer, but I got my $5 worth. (I guess that seems like a lot of negative bullet points, but they don't all have to be home runs. Singles and doubles are fun too.) Also: There's kind of an underlying Buddhist or Zen (I don't know either one from the sound of a hole in the ground, really) message to the whole thing, as various characters keep proclaiming that the only way out is through. 3.5/5

August (2):
:pc: - Hero's Adventure - A very short RPG from Terry Cavanagh. Almost scratches the itch I get from playing Torchlight or even Insanely Twisted Shadow Planet where I start to get the sense I'm not the good guy. 4/5
Posted Image - Tiny Tower - I'd been playing almost daily since February, when they had their scuffle with Zynga. I have done every achievement, and every mission. I have the zippiest elevator and a large surplus of coins and bucks. I have 170 floors, which is every floor plus one empty one where there's nothing left to build. The tower is at full capacity of citizens who are all working in their dream jobs and have a 9 skill level in that job. This game is DONE.5/5

September (1):
Posted Image - 10000000 - some blog or another was raving about this, so I tried it out even though I don't especially like or feel good at bejeweled type games. Took about 4 hours to collect everything and win my freedom. Catchy song, although it reminds me of something else. 3/5

October (1):
:ps3: - Heavenly Sword - The ending of this game would've made me cry. If I'd purchased it at full list price. As a goozex trade, it's a little better. Quite short, but that's a mercy. A God of War clone where every level of enemy can easily block you, and they all know unblockable techniques! That's in the button-mashing sword levels, not the almost-sci-fi gun and crossbow levels. Co-starring Bjork as your flighty little sister on the goofy, video-game inside jokey comic relief.2/5

November (1):
:pc: - Frog Fractions - My next, apparently quarterly weird internet game. The first time I found it, I just lost a couple rounds and quit, but after sticking with it, I was impressed with just how far it went. Mathematical!3/5

December (9):
:wii: - Guilty Party - Silly, but fun. Kind of like Clue(do). Played through 2-player co-op story mode and then 1 versus game. We had a good time being detectives for about 4 hours. Uncovering clues, playing mini-games that were at first numerous enough to be delightful and then familiar enough to be dreaded, eating pudding, just doing all the things detectives do. Would have been kind of a drag at list price though.3/5
:wii: - Kirby's Epic Yarn - Played through in co-op. Finished the story at around 91% complete, telling myself I'll go back and collect the last few things. at about 18 hours, we hit 100% complete! Liked the variety. The ice skating and sledding levels were lovely. Decorating Kirby's pad is kind of boring. The soundtrack has songs that have a musical phrase here or there that strongly reminds me of various unrelated tunes, but it happens in like, constantly.4/5
:wii: - Batman: The Brave and the Bold - The way the training re-uses dialogue in the first 3 minutes had me worried for this one, but the dialogue turned out to be the best thing about it. It's a brawler with cameo-based special attacks like X-Men on the Genesis, and gets a little repetitive with some of the same goons and security robots apparently employed by a staggering range of villains. The quality of the levels and their humor declines steadily over the four episodes. Also, they contain an unusual number of Flash villains. Maybe the bat-villains were all licensed elsewhere. Huge plus for including the Gentleman Ghost, minor minus for him being kinda lame. 3/5
:ds: - Picross 3D - Done! Finished it! I put too much time in back in the beginning of the year to not get this one on my list for the year. Finished every puzzle with 3 stars / no mistakes. Some of them took a while. 4/5
Posted Image - The Room - A puzzle box you open with your ipad. Or, like 4 or 5 of them. Really satisfying and delightful to solve, not terribly tricky. Worth a buck, and I gave one as a gift just now. The final chapter was a little dull compared to the earlier ones, but at the same time, I wish there had been several more chapters. 5/5
:pc: - You Have To Burn The Rope - You do. And I did. This won prizes? I feel like I'm just padding out my year-end stats. 2/5
:pc: - Gravity Bone - Yawn. 2/5
:ps3: - Journey - I saw it through to the end, but I know I'm going to have to go back to look around more and maybe understand more of what's happening. It's great when there's a friend running around with you. I love the gliding / surfing around kind of moves. I dream about stuff like that. I was also delighted that I, myself, personally, referring to me, found the ending a little underwhelming. After all, it's about the Journey! (also, I played it twice. I see some people counting beating and rebeating a game, but I don't think I would count that in one year - I didn't for Uncharted. But I did count the Turtles game and I've played that before, so when I run through Journey in 2013, it'll be back on that list, I guess.) 4/5
:ps3: - Papo and Yo - Very strong start - I really liked the way the initial interactions with the world made sense in a daydreamy, imaginative way. I wish that aspect had not only been the main subject of the game, but the main mechanic explored. I could have done without the robot, or honestly even the conflict of Monster (although of course Monster is the point of the thing) since I was having fun exploring the world. I think some of the puzzles stopped making 'on camera' sense, and especially needing to fix the robot to fix the problem with the monster caused by fixing the robot… The ham and odd message of the ending detract from the opening experience, which I was enjoying more than Journey. It's weird that this serious game on a somber topic comes with a 'collect all the fun hats!' new game+ mode. 4/5

Played and Enjoyed but not beaten, or essentially never-ending: Team Fortress 2, Left 4 Dead 2, Letterpress, SpyParty, FTL.

In Progress: :ds: Trace Memory
Posted Image Final Fantasy 1
:360: Spider-Man: Shattered Dimension, LA Noire, Lego Batman
:wii: You Don't Know Jack, Lost in Shadow

I'm also including TV and movies, since I keep track of those anyway, and a lot of the TV coincides early in the year with working on Picross 3D. (I've seen now that there's another thread where people keep track of movies, but for now I'm keeping it here.)

Claiming a spot.. I might finish a game this year, that'd be amazing. Hah.

KOA: Reckoning
Bioshock 2

September (now playing):
Now playing Prototype

Based on loving KOA: Reckoning and Bioshock, can anyone recommend other games I might enjoy?
