Thanks for the input on getting a DS . . . no regrets . . . the Mario and Wario games alone are making the purchase worthwhile!

Do you guys know much about screen protection films for the DS . . . do they work? cut down on response?

I'm loving the DS and so is my 3-year-old daughter . . . get the idea? I cringe as she holds the stylus.

here is one best buy has:

Let me know what you think of these.

much like screen protectors for PDAs it all depends on what brand you get, some might be a little thick some can have an od texture. They all take a little getting used to but I think as with any device in the hands of a 3 year old the best protection is hyper vigilance, NEVER take your eyes off your DS... or you kid for that matter while she's holding it. :D Even with a screen protector a good hard stab could hurt something.

Amazon's review have NOT been kind to the Pelican brand though:

Be wary of the Pelican ones. The top screen protector (though not really needed) is terrible. If you ever want to remove it, it leaves thick goo all around the screen. It's not on the actual screen itself, but it's still terrible.

The bottom protector is ok, but it doesn't cover the entire screen. It leaves a small unprotected border around the edges. They did this so you can remove it, since the bottom screen is indented into the system. I found the border to be really annoying but it's still very playable. It just bugged me. The pack does include some extra styli and a nice microfiber cleaning cloth, so it's not all bad.

I don't know if anyone sells protectors that cover the entire bottom screen or not. I haven't tried any others.

I hear the Hori ones are the best since they're licensed by Nintendo, they cost like $10 from lik-sang. I don't have any experience using any myself but if your screen does get scratched, you have the whole year to send it in to Nintendo as many times as you want and that only takes about 3 days.

I read somewhere that someone asked a Big N guy which screen protector to use and he said none since your DS shouldn't be scratched as long as you used the official stylus/thumb strap. Then he continued saying if it was to get scratched, you can send it in.

the pelican from bestbuy for $4.99 will suffice. the top does not need one. goo gone can get rid of the goo if you want to take it off.

The pelican screen protector is terrible dont buy it. I put it on it kept getting bubbles so i took it off and had to use wd40 and rubbing alcohol to get the sticky stuff off. :(

get the intec safe screen. I bought it for about 4 dollars at toys r us and they fit perfectly. When I said they you get ths screen protector for the top and bottom screen.
