I think when Sunday rolls around if you just go to the BB site and sort the BR by price.

Here is a link to all the $9.99 movies. It's actually the $7.99-9.99 price, but sorted high to low.

Here is a link to all the $10-$14.99 movies sorted by low to high.
if i remember correctly isnt this where you trade in a DVD version of the Blu-Ray you want to get $5 off the purchase?

if so.. hello Blu-Ray Batman: TDK, Saving Private Ryan, Braveheart, V for Vendetta, Troy, Black Hawk Down, and The Walking Dead: Season 1

do you need the dvd cases too? if not, i'll add Gladiator to the list too :)

I hope its on any. I have a shit load of DVD's that I can get rid of and at $5 coupon a piece I'll be more than glad to accept.

Same here.

Do you need to spend that upgrade price right away or can you save it in credit form or even give them two or more to get a more expensive blu-ray? Thanks.

no and no, it's a $5 off coupon good only for the sale time and only one per item can be used

if i were to trade in lets say... superbad... but i didnt want superbad on blu-ray, could i use the $5 credit on a different blu-ray title?

this is most likely the same promotion that has happened the last 2 times.

you trade in ANY dvd and its case and you get a $5 off coupon good on any blur ray on the list.

this should also stack with any manufacturer coupons as well. ymmv on a competent (or incompetant, depending on how you look at it) cashier.

some places may imply that you spend it at that time but you can ask for the coupon and you should get it to use when you want within the promotion period.

yes. you can trade in any dvds as long as they arent porn.

Yes. Since DVD still has, like, 20,000 titles not available on Blu-ray.

It's any BD (offered in the deal). The "any BD" is still not confirmed.

OK. so now i guess we all just wait for the confirmation sales ad next week.

too bad we can't stack $5 coupons for one blu-ray lol.. and just to verify, can we save the $5 coupons to use for a later date?

They have had an expiration in the past (the end of the promotion)

Based on the past times this has happened as well as the current unconfirmed info, here is what we "know":

  • Trade in ANY DVD as long as it has the case and is not porn or a burned copy
  • Get a $5 off coupon good for a certain amount of time on a blu-ray
    • Does NOT need to be a BR version of the DVD you just traded in
  • Should stack with MFR coupons since those are as good as cash
  • Can be used on a different day after you trade in the DVD (as long as it is within the effective dates of the coupon of course)
  • $5 off can be used on ANY Blu-Ray $9.99 or more *UNCONFIRMED*
  • Works on sale prices
    • The coupons in the past stated they did not, but when you brought the movie to the register and gave them the coupon it worked on sale prices.
Again, this is not a confirmed deal, so the details we have are based on when this promotion existed before. Hopefully this helps people who have questions.

So u can't upgrade all your DVD porn to 3D/ blu-ray porn

I thought previous sales had a selection of movies it worked on...not ALL movies.
I thought previous sales had a selection of movies it worked on...not ALL movies.
This is true, but the OP says that this time the coupons might work on all movies, but it's unconfirmed.

Awesome, I was just wishing they'd have one of these again the other day. Between the last two times I think I've dumped over 20 DVDs. If they do it on any bluray over $9.99, I'll probably get rid of at least 30 to 40 DVDs.

I remember the last time they had this offer, I was at the CS section and someone was trying to trade in a Blu-ray to get the coupon. A major Blu release too (can't recall what, but it was a Tom Cruise movie I believe) and they rejected it saying it has to be a DVD. You'd think they'd welcome anyone who wants to trade in a blu over a DVD but that's Best Buy for you.

great deal, lets hope for a great list, bring it 2012! i need another year to go broke! goodbye new years resolution. *crowd awwwws*
Meh, $5 off is just a trap to get me to spend much more on Blu-Rays.
Very interesting. Thanks. ;)

Don't buy shit like an $80 HBO boxset, but there are lots of blu-rays that will be $.99 to $2.99 if the OP info is correct.

http://www.bestbuy.com/site/olstemp...pkg=false&pagetype=listing#storeInventoryLink

I'd be in for Heat for $2.99 and American History X/A History of Violence for about $1.49 a piece (sort of).

http://www.bestbuy.com/site/America...u-ray+Disc/2684272.p?id=2193835&skuId=2684272

Most of the cheap blu rays are shit, but there are several decent titles for $2.99 (after coupon) depending on your tastes.
kinda stinks that they cant stack and I cant trade in my jurrassic park dvds for the trilogy box.
actually it's VERY logical for them to not stack. otherwise we'd trade in a bunch of crap dvd's from the dollar store or something and get a ton of free blu rays that way.

Is this deal live? Or is it still upcoming? I just happened to dig up a few old dvd's that I picked up for $0.50 a piece at a yard sale a while ago. Looking to trade these in and jump on the blu-ray bandwagon (I'm a late adopter, but usually just watch movies on netflix lool)

The start date for this deal is in the title. :)

GG I totally missed that LOL. Thanks!

I'm gonna trade my dvds i have had for years that i got for free from best buy. Like a hell boy preview, umcoming media, and a muic video compiliation all from best buy and they were free.

As long as they come in cases and has a cover, you'll be good. Not sure about the things you listed. Usually when I get free stuff like that, it comes in like paper slips. And from what I hear, paper slips (even if it has a cover) will be up to the store if they will accept it or not.

So u can trade in any DVDs and also can u use it on pre-order's

Any DVD as long as it is not porn or a burned disc. And I am pretty sure it needs to be on an in-stock item, so no pre-orders.

Can you use a rewardzone certificate in addition to the coupon? Looking to pick up moneyball and would like to be able to use a coupon and a rewardzone certificate on it.

Yes. Rewardzone certificates are like giftcards.

I was excited for this at first but with tax, gas and the prices I just don't see it being all that worth it vs getting something on Amazon. Unless someone can help me out here and tell me a way that would make it more worthwhile than Amazon

Um, when you can trade in movies you don't use to get a movie for $5 compared to amazons $10, it's still 50% off. If your BB is an hour away, then I can see the issue. But I am rather familiar with the Tampa/ St Pete area and know there are quiet a few around there.

If you get 5 movies for $5 each, so $25+tax, making it like $28 or so, instead of $50, plus you get to get rid of some DVDs you won't watch again I see it as a win-win.

Plus it's a great way to upgrade, like I traded in an Office Space DVD and got it on Blu-Ray for $3 (this was the very first time this sale existed).

@Saix_XIII, thanks for the links. I'm hoping some of these sale prices are still in effect when Trade & Save starts this Sunday.

$5 blu-rays, nice!:D

$5 Blu-Ray's I want:
- Braveheart
- Glory
- American Gangster (maybe)
- Knocked Up
- Kickass (maybe)

Is "Good Will Hunting" a good movie? Going by the cover it's received awards/nominations. Opinions would be great! :). It's only $5 too.

$6-$10 Blu-Ray's I want:
- Alien $8
- Gangs of New York $8
- The Dark Knight $10
- The Town $10

The only $15 Blu-Ray I'd get:
- Saving Private Ryan

That's great and all if you can find $9.99 blu's that you want, but for instance: The Town is 14.99 on Best Buy. It's 12.99 on Amazon. $5 off would make it 9.99 + .67 tax so you're looking at around $10.5. Take into consideration time driving and gas and you aren't really saving anything.

It seems to me that you'd have to find a lot of $9.99 Blu's to make this worth it. I just don't have that many movies I'm interested in I guess.

Here is what I found, nothing really amazing jumps out at me, but for 7 movies for under $40 inc tax, I may bite on them, if not prob 4 or so.

Inglorious Bastards (9616843)
Ghostbusters (9333429)
Dogma (8708632)
Happy Feet (8254042)
Jackie Chan 4-Film Collection (4755203)
Kill Bill 1 (2683591)
Kill Bill 2 (2683761)

Granted some of these may go up in price on Sunday or other movies may go on sale this Sunday, so I rather not plan until I see the new pricing.

maybe it was just the holiday sales, but most of the blurays I bought just before thanksgiving went on sale for less than -$5 price at BB. They would not price match so essentially I gave away some dvds.. One CSR felt bad and gave me $5 off a blu-ray I was buying that was not on the list..
We need to compile a list of the good $10-15 blu-rays that would be good to grab with this deal.
probably will have to wait until sunday for a complete list unfortunatley as a lot of blurays that are $9.99 are on sale. They may not be the same price next week and there may be new titles that are $9.99 come sunday.
