Mass Effect 3 Space Edition FAIL

Copies of ME3: Space Edition were launched into space from San Francisco as part of a promotion for the new game. They were to be recovered by lucky fans who would then get to keep them as a price.

however both beacons they sent into space from San Francisco ended up in unaccessible areas and no one has been able to recover it. This one ended up on a tall tree and the video shows an attempt to recover it using a slingshot:

Seriously this promotion was so dumb. How could they not expect them to land someplace inaccessible or dangerous or on private property.

People are reading and talking about it though, so... win?
 
You would think they would have used the CE of ME3 for this and not just the regular game. From some of the pictures I have seen of it they did nothing to protect the game from water damage if it hit water.
 
I think they should call Caesar from Rise of the Planet of the Apes to climb up that tree and give them the copy of Mass Effect 3.
