Not really much of a deal but this is the first SNES game to be released in 14 years. Will have a limited run of 600 copies.

They said they're accepting pre-orders on the first 600 copies of the game. I'm sure they'll print more if there's demand. There have been reprints of two of their other games, Beggar Prince and Zaku. I'm pretty sure that I read that they intend to print more copies of Star Odyssey too.

so they still make dreamcast games and now snes games....guess we should expect some new atari hotness in 2020.

There have been previously unreleased and homebrew games for various Atari systems released over the years.

You guys think this is reputable...and for that matter won't trash my SNES?

Just the novelty of getting to buy a SNES game...last or second to last Nintendo system I was 100% behind. I'm still fairly impressed by SNES graphics LOL

I bought a couple of there games before and had no problems. I'm probably going to pass on this one though.

I can think of about a dozen unfinioshed previous-gen titles these people should have rather been working on, like He-Man.

Although I really want to play a "new" SNES game, $68 for this game is waaay too much for me. Pier Solar is an excellent example of how to make a homebrew. This game looks like poop. I just wish WaterMelon would make a game for the SNES instead of the Genesis.

The music sounds like it's beeing sped up through an emulator or something, I'm not sure why it sounds like that but they could've easily improved the music so that it'd sound much better. It's so bad that if I had to play the game, I'd probably play it muted or with music off if there's an option for that.

It says right on the pre order page that it includes a box and manual.

doesn't look that interesting to me, but probably mainly completist SNES boxed and sealed collectors will be buying this.

I'm laughing at the price, but in reality this will probably sell out with such a low run considering the amount of game collectors in the world.

I don't care how nostalgic this developer is, this should have been released on WiiWare, XBLA, or PSN.

I didn't think you were serious until I checked the site. I'm surprised it sold out that fast.

Damn you had the same joke I did haha. At least the 1% who have an AOL 56k connection can get the patch for new characters and modes. The 4 mb patch will only take 62 hours to download, net reconnections due to IM punters...

Yeah, this has homebrew written all over it. Congrats to them for finding someone to put it in a new cart, but this is not an "official" SNES game unless is that the Nintendo Seal of Quality on it somewhere. I'm not weeing it on their page or in the video posted, so... it's technically not an SNES game.

Taken from the website:

"After giving it much thought and discussing it with our partners, I have decided to honor the wishes of our fans by accepting pre-orders on the first 600 copies of the game."

Sounds to me there will be more than 600 copies of this game.

using the governments cpi index, this would have cost about $42-48 at Egghead Software. I'd recommend preordering Gabriel Knight: Beast WIthin instead, the fmv looks dope.

Looks like there might be more than 600 copies (eventually):

Our 600 copy pre-order limit for Nightmare Busters has been reached as of March 8, 2012. We'd like to thank all of our loyal customers and fans for helping make Nightmare Busters our fastest selling game product since the company's inception in 2004. The game, to be released in 2013, may be put back into production at some point after the initial 600 copies have been shipped.

I'm definitely interested in getting a copy, but I can't justify paying $68 almost a year in advance.

I did a triple-take seeing that it's not out until NEXT year. Sounds really fishy to be that much money and that much time out. Maybe it's been in development since the 90s and is challenging DNF's vaporware record.

Super Fighter Team didn't develop it, they're just publishing it. The game was actually made in the 90s, but got canceled. I thought it was an odd choice to release it now, especially since people are already making repros of it. Although the original SNES version was canceled, a mobile version was released years ago.

Here you go.

Am I the only one in this thread who noticed that the YouTube video posted is of the original, cancelled game? The video must certainly show an emulator-run ROM, which is why the music sounds so awful. I'm not saying the Super Fighter Team version is going to be great or anything, but this video should only provide a glimpse into the game's history, and not represent the final product.
