It was briefly mentioned in the Origin Sale thread as being YMMV, but I confirmed that GameStop carries $20 EA Game Cards and there is in-store signage for a $15 sale price through 4/1. I have not redeemed mine yet, but they state that they are good for any downloadable games on Origin, more info is at http://www.eacashcard.com

I'm planning on using this to purchase Mass Effect 2, Dead Space 2, and some other Origin games that I've been eyeing.

EDIT: It looks like these can be used for physical games as well, and this is a great way to take advantage of the sale while using the GS credit many of us have amassed recently.

EDIT, 2: Some people have reported having trouble using a combination of EA credit and a credit/debit card for their transaction. So far, it looks like you can do this, but it must be split into two orders. Place one using just credit, and then you'll be able to place a second order using both credit and a credit card without any errors. I don't know why it works, but it just does.

This is kinda, sorta related, but hypothetically speaking if I were to buy (2) $14.99 games and (1) $9.99 game, would I get free shipping. Only reason I ask is because I know that you get free shipping on $39.99 or higher, but in the situation I described above that would result in the transaction being $0.02 short. Would they let it slide and give me free shipping?

So I can buy $100 worth of EA cards at Gamestop for $75 and use those $100 worth of EA cards (that I spent $75 on) to buy $200 worth of "physical" games from the EA store that are currently part of the 50% of sale? (i.e. Battlefield 3, FIFA 12, Dead Space 2, etc.)

So my OOP would be $75 for $200 worth of MSRP games?

I don't buy digital downloads... so I just want to make sure these EA cards can be redeemed on the EA store for physical items.

Sweet! I didn't saw this on the Origin Sale thread so thanks OP. Picking at least two of these.

just try it. it's not like you have to put your cc info in at that screen.

Hmmm, not worth the trouble to refuse shipping and maybe save $10 after a rebuy for games already coming. Too bad I didn't know about this earlier.

Great deal for those that get in on it.

Damn, no go at my local store. They have every kind of gift card imaginable but nothing from EA/Origin.

I wish Gamestop sold these online - hate it when you can't buy everything online that you can in a store.

Added a link to this thread from the Spring Sale thread and gave due credit. I just don't want people seeing one without the other.

Just checked one of my local stores as well and they didn't have them either.

Thanks OP, just left a local Game Stop with 5 of these cards. Even if there is nothing for me during this sale Origin seems to have several good deals a year.

Scored two at my Gamestop. The sales rep didn't even know they were $5 off, but they were checking out at $15 each.
Can the cards be used to buy Bioware points for the Bioware PC game DLC?
I use them for simpoints so maybe? /no help at all

Yes, you can. I've done it before.

So wait, let me see if I understand this. You can use the cards on physical games. So that means I could spend $45 and get $60 worth of cards, and get Mass Effect 3? Or do Bioware games not count? Because if that's the case I'm-a go to Gamestop tomorrow!

Well Gamestop has just tweeted this deal so it should be official everywhere. I wonder if my store was just full of it when they said they don't carry these at all?
Go to gamestop.com then hit "store locator."
Not sell online?

*sigh* I'm not in US/CA.

they might not even know what they are. They do say EA on them, but not too large. I know what they look like from working at target, so I knew what to look for. The most common one seems to be green with sims, pogo.com, madden guy, and creeper shepard in the corner. It's great.

but gamestop hipster man had no idea what it was. And the display the cards were on had a sign that specifically said EA $20 for $15.

Can't find them on the massive gift card racks? Check the right side of the display in the bottom right corner...that's where they were at two of my local stores.

I now have 4 of them which should be plenty for me! Pulling the trigger on my order tomorrow; I want to see if a birthday code shows up.

Had already ordered SotD and can now add Dead Space 2, orange box (not half off but still not bad at $15 shipped) and Dante's inferno to the list thanks to the extra 25% off.
So it's confirmed they work on physical games too? I just want to make sure before I buy some cards tomorrow.
They do. I put $40 of the cash cards towards my Mass Effect 3 Collector's Edition preorder.

Thanks for the info. I'll have top run down there again today and double check.

Sweet - went to another store this morning and they had about a dozen of these things. The associate didn't know they were on sale but they rang up for $15.

You da man, OP! Picked up three of these cards. 1st Gamestop (in the Lincolnwood Mall, Chicago) I went to said the computer listed 20 cards in stock but nobody could find them?! -_- 2nd one on Howard street had about 5 left.

Thanks OP! Got a couple of cards from Gamestop @ Paramus, NJ. I still have to redeem them though. Hopefully I could get ME3 DLC with it!

Origin is the worst online store I've ever experienced.
I bout 2 EA cards, redeemed them, ready to check out but the tax came out a little above $40 which is the credit in my "EA Account Balance".

So it goes to a page asking for credit card number, I entered and it directed me to the confirm page again, hit confirm it directs me back to the credit card entering page again.

During the confirmation page it does say use EA Account Balance but I am not able to choose to use my credit card to add to that balance anywhere on the site.

Their live customer service info is nowhere to be found on the site. After googling and now calling their EA support line, finding the options to talk to a live person, I've now stayed on hold for more than an hour.

No email info and when I try to post something in the EA Origin Forums it says "Oooops.. You don't have sufficient privileges to access this forum"

I can't return my cards at Gamestop since they are used at store.origin to turn them into online credit... but now the site won't work and I can't contact anybody....

Did anybody have the same experience or work around? I've heard how Origin is spyware and didn't think the store could be this shitty too... right now feels like this card thing is an out right scam.
I've redeemed EA cards no problem.
I've redeemed them, they show up in my EA Account Balance, the problem is I can't seem to use my credit card to pay for the difference in total and won't allow me to complete the purchase because of this.

I've never had that problem either. IIRC, they just apply your Origin balance to your order and then allow you to choose how to pay the remainder.
