Hey guys, I thought it would be nice to make a thread where users can can post which celebrities that they have:
Met in person
Twitter contacted (ie been mentioned or Re-tweeted)
or any other method of communication

I will leave what you judge as a celebrity up to the poster.

I will start, I will self edit my celebrity list due to me not seeing the people as celebrities as they are more aquatints as I played high school basketball and I played against many NBA players (and current NCAA tourney players)

My list:
CheapyD - God of all Cheapness (tweeted back and fourth mentioning me)
Rudy Gay - NBA player (didnt play in high school met at a camp)
Digger Phelps - basketball sports analyist (spoke at a camp I was working at)

YOUR TURN! :bouncy:

My list:

I once stood on a sidewalk in London as the Queen's motorcade went by. I didn't meet her, but if her window had been open, I could've high-fived her.

Also, Robert Beltran is my uncle... (I suspect only a few hard-core Trekkies know who he is.)

my mom is good friends with vince vaughns mom. They go out drinking and stuff lol

I met captain tony alot in key west

I got a picture with lou ferigno at a chicago expo, and afterwards he wanted money for it and I said no and walked away

My mom ran a club in downtown chicago and met alot of celebrities like johny candy and john belushi. I met them when i was a baby.

I met OJ simpson at a bar in key west. he was with a white chick.

I also met a baseball player when i was working at a restaurant. I don't remember his name, but he was black, and retired, and i guess played for one of the chicago teams. need to find out who that was

I met denis savard from the the chicago blackhawks

I met Papa Roach WAY back in the day; they were pretty cool dudes. I actually wound up meeting them again a few years ago and they were complete asshats.

I've met Slug from Atmosphere, Mac Lethal, and Greyskul.

I met Paramore a few years ago when I was lucky enough to attend a private acoustic concert they put on for probably 20 people. Here's a short vid I recorded of the performance.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fRGdli-6gKE

I've met and shot the shit with CM Punk multiple times back at ROH shows in like 2004/2005.

Even though I rarely enjoyed watching Voyager, I know he played Chakotay on the show.:booty:

As for celebrities I've met, do 1980's pro wrestlers count?

If so, everybody except for Hogan and Savage from the 1980's WWF lineup. We used to go to the one local venue where they had shows at least once every 2-3 months back in the 80's and early 90's here. I met everybody from Andre The Giant to Hacksaw Jim Duggan.;) Savage was here a couple of times(at least) but musta snuck in and outta the building before the fans could catch him.:whistle2:#

When I was a kid I met Dick The Bruiser (wrestler), Clayton Moore (The Lone Ranger), and Jim Nabors (Gomer Pyle).

As an adult I met Robert Crumb and worked and drank with Don Ed Hardy.

Oh and I'm second cousins with Patsy Cline. At least that is what I've been told.

The end.

Sasha Yvonne Wallach (not really a celebrity but a local actor who is outrageously hot in person, imagine Sean Yseult from White Zombie with curves)
More metal bands than I can recall
More MN Vikings than I care to count
Due to an internship I met 98% of the MN Wild team from the 3rd season when they made the playoffs
P.O.S. and I had an almost hour long discussion at an Obama campaign concert
Whole mess of the MN media
etc...

I don't really get starstruck and the only person who has ever made me shy/awkward while meeting them was Amanda fucking Palmer & Neil Gaimann while they were out walking their dogs.

Met the band RED a few times. Really awesome, down to Earth guys.

Jeremy Hummel (former drummer/co-founder of Breaking Benjamin) used to shop at the grocery store I had my first job at. Cool guy. Used to go to high school basketball games with a mutual friend of mine also.

Davy Jones (The Monkees) also used to shop there. He was a really nice guy, always friendly and willing to speak with anyone who came up to him.

As for twitter bs, retweets don't really mean much other than the fact that they (or their publicist) read your message. Who cares?

Terrance Zdunich, Lloyd Kaufman, the guy who played Boba Fett, I think I met the guy who was Darth Vader, most of the Dragon Ball Z voice actors at gaming conventions, random B-listers, MC Frontalot, mc chris, Schaffer the Darklord, all of Abney Park, The Men That Will Not Be Blamed For Nothing, and in May I get to meet Darren Bousman finally. There might be more... I don't know.

Oh, and for Twitter, I've had Kevin Smith reply to me a few times.

Was able to meet Mick Foley, Shawn Michaels, and Harley Race.

When I was younger, I snail mailed Joe Montana a few times. Although it took a year or more, he did eventually respond back with autograph items (one of which I sent to him to autograph, the other was an 8x10 pic he signed).

The McElroy brothers read a few of my questions on their MBMBAM podcast.

Price Chopper near me used to have Chief Saturdays where they would bring in a KC Chiefs player or two and have them sign autographs. Most weren't big names, but I was able to meet Will Shields who is one of the best linemen ever IMO.

Exactly. About 6-7 years ago my one ex convinced me to make a MySpace account. I had it for all of a week before I got sick of all of the complete strangers trying to be my 'friend' who just came out of nowhere. I viewed it as a popularity contest where idiots were impressed by how many 'friends' the other idiots had on the service. I imagine Facebook and Twitter are just more of the same.

Only time I joined FB was to try and get some promo code from Hastings or some other retail chain. Otherwise those social sites and all of the self important people on them can (insert graphic visual here).

Whoa sweet. He was in one of my all time favorite music groups (Deep Puddle Dynamics).

Celebrities I've interacted with in person: Tony Danza, Quentin Tarantino, Marisa Tomei, Katie Holmes, Marc Summers, Dennis Bermudez, Clay Guida, Anthony Pettis, Scotty Jorgensen, Matt Riddle, Dale Murphy, Davey Allison JR, Don McClean, Ted Nugent, CeCe Deville, Band members of Poison, Slayer, Ratt, Dokken.

I've probably met almost every metal band in the early 2000's due to my band playing with them back in the day (Sevendust, Filter, Taproot, Drowning Pool, Ill Nino, etc.)

But I will mainly list the ones that stand out to me:

Howard Stern: Met him while on vacation in NYC. I was like 15, he was cool as shit and took a picture with me, which I still keep up in my apartment.

Nicko McBrain (drummer of Iron Maiden) - Lived down the street from me when I was 15/16...invited me and a buddy into his house to hang out for an hour and gave us t-shirts and took pictures. Was truly an awesome experience!

Tank Abbott (UFC Fighter): My band licensed music to the UFC, and they used one of our songs for Tank's entrance theme, so we went to an event and met him.

The Undertaker: Met him at the same UFC event...friends with Tank Abbott

Joe Rogan: Again, met him at the UFC event. He mentioned us on Pay Per View, which was badass.

Enrique Iglesias: Another UFC story. I barely met him, but UFC paid for my band to record at this famous studio in Miami, and we were taking band pictures outside by the sign, and there was a Mercedes in the way, so we went inside to see who's it was so they could move...and it was Enrique's, who was recording in the studio next to ours...he kindly moved his car for us, lol. We also hung out in the game room of the studio while Missy Elliott's posse played pool...that was interesting.

Megadeth: I was 15 (1994) and we signed up for the fan club and received backstage passes. Got to hang out with the whole band for like an hour. Was pretty badass!

Dee Snider: Never met him, but I tried starting a fanzine thing when I was 13 about Twisted Sister so I wrote him, and he sent me a hand written letter back with his publicist's contact info...nothing ever came of it because I was some young stupid kid, but was still cool nonetheless. I still have the letter, as well as another letter he sent me after that.

Overkill: One of my favorite metal bands of all time. I have met them on many occasions. The singer (Blitz) and his wife own a German Chocolate shop in the town I am from in NY, so I went to visit family on vacation and stopped in. His wife sold me some chocolate covered pretzels and talked to me about how my band (old high school band, not Scars of Life) played with his band in the late 90's. I catch up with Blitz everytime they are in Florida. He is always awesome and says he remembers me, but who knows...lol.

I think that's it for me, but on a side note, but Dad dated John Travolta's sister in the 1960's.

Is Ted Nugent as bathshit crazy as he seems on tv?

He was in a real hurry so he didn't really talk much. He didn't come across as very friendly though. I just went to his room and grabbed a big metal case and he got the other one and we threw it in his truck and he thanked/tipped me and he rushed off.

Let's see here:

I have met:

George Lucas twice
Carlos Santana
Huey Lewis
Farrior, Starks, Harrison, Kiesel, Coach Tomlin, Hines Ward and a couple other Steelers
David Copperfield
Tech N9ne
Krizz Kaliko
Andre Nickatina
Slug twice
My stepfather used to sell drugs to Dave Mustaine when I was young, Megadeth and Metallica have all been to my house numerous times
Green Day at a show they did in a bowling alley in Palo Alto around the time Kerplunk came out
Gallagher
The guy who played Wilbur in Mr. Ed
Robin Williams and his daughter Zelda
Cuba Gooding Jr.

Let's see if I can remember a few:

Met a bunch of PBA bowlers back in the late 80's when my father entered a Pro-Am tournament. I had photos, but they got lost during one of our moves. I was 6 or so at the time.

Marc Summers - Got his autograph and got to shake his hand after the Family Double Dare tour waaaay back in the early 90's. He was actually a bit reluctant to do a meet and greet at first, but eventually came out.

Ron Howard - This was back when he was promoting the movie ED TV. I was with a class trip to NBC 5 Studios in Chicago, where we got to see a bunch of behind the scenes stuff with the morning show. Ron Howard was the guest that morning. I got a brief moment to chat with him, told him I thought Ransom was an awesome movie, and got a photo with him. Nice guy.

Steve Dahl - Famous radio personality in Chicago. Met him, got his autograph and a handshake. That's about it.

Bubba The Love Sponge - Radio personality. He was in Chicago two years ago filming a pilot for a television talk show that never got picked up. He met the entire audience, took photos and even cracked jokes with a few people. I have a photo with him on my Facebook page. Pretty cool guy.

All I can remember off the top of my head, really.

What about Alicia Fox?

Lived near and met Bruce campbell, tobey maguire(he is so short!), patrick duffy, kristie alley, and kevin hagen.

So why would you come into a thread asking the celebrities you've communicated with then? This seems like the last thread you'd want to be in.

Met dennis rodman at a airport in florida. Not really a fan but I wanted to interact with him a bit cuz he played with jordan. Shook his hand and said a few words. There he was waiting for his luggage just like the rest of us commoners and he's just talking to no one in particular and just being obnoxious. I didn't want to really say what's up to him but I was a little star struck (never met any celebs before) and my wife was pushing me to go say hello. He was a jerk to some older lady and this boy (12y/o?). But he'd be more friendly with attractive females. He wasn't an ass to me but I really dislike those types of people. He acted the way he looked; a dick. I regret meeting him. He's tainted the image of the bulls that jordan lead back in the day.

Friends with and interact with Bryan Erickson of the industrial band Velvet Acid Christ over on FB. Granted hes a whiney little attention seeking bipolar whore.

Hung out with Jason Darr former lead singer of defunct band Nuerosong after their set at The NorVa operning for Army of Anyone back in 2007. The guy was super awesome and very talkative with me and my ex. He made it a point to grab all his band members that were walking by the merch booth to sign the CD I bought. Brought up that it sounded like there was some Beatles influence in a few of the songs and was astounded that we got that as hardly many didn't

Ran into the lead singer of Tapping The Vein back in 2003, she was cool. Very Quiet off stage. Same night almost went up to Edsel Dope after the show outside, but he was acting like the prick that he is so I didn't bother

Not sure if it counts, but my best friend of the past 22 years, from childhood, is Van Hughes. If you've seen American Idiot on stage, you've seen him. He was a back up for many of the original Broadway run, but worked with Melissa Ethridge and of course Billy Joe Armstrong. Currently he plays Johnny in the touring company. Heres the Cast page of the show http://www.americanidiotthemusical.com/team.php and his personal page www.vanhughes.net and his commercial reel

I played pingpong with Jay Slater. In between takes, even. He was totally chill, if you didn't know any better you'd think he was just another guy, not a world famous actor 15 minutes away from filming a scene that would win him armloads of awards. A friend of a friend got me on the set, it was crazy.

When I was in high school, I did some of the landscaping work on Olivia Alves's place. She was a different story, she was totally stuck up and didn't even acknowledge that we were there. I tried to be nice and yelled out that I really liked her show, but she acted all annoyed. *Total* bitch.

Finally, I was drinking at a bar one time and thought I saw Xarles Monty across the way, but it was really hard to tell. If that *was* him, he was effin smashed.

When I was 10 I ran into Muhammad Ali at the O'Hare airport in Chicago back in 1995. His assistant gave me a nation of Islam pamphlet and the champ signed it for me and was super nice. Threw a little punch and let me give him a high five.

All thanks to conventions
Lou Albano
Virgil
Kevin Nash
Curt Schilling
Yoshinori Ono(saw him but too crazy of a scene to talk to him)
Kenny Brit(Friend of Friend owns a memorabilia store)
Jesse Armstead(Another store signing)
Otis Anderson(benefit dinner along with Ex-NY Jets LB Chad Cascadden)
Brian O Halloran(Clerks fame)

Giants Event 2 years ago(was working an exhibitors table with my friend)
Eli Manning
Kevin Boss
Brandon Jacobs
Hakeem Nicks
Mark Bavaro
Phil Simms

Hannibal Burress (comedian - on The Eric Andre Show and John Oliver's NYC Stand up special) and FrontRowBrian (mma reporter) responded to me on Twitter recently. And Eric Andre favorited one of my tweets.

I should add to my list:

LeVar Burton (Gordi on Star Trek TNG)
Kate Mulgrew (Captain Janeway on Star Trek Voyager)
Thomas Dekker (John Connor on Terminator Sarah Connor Chronicles)
among other random sci-fi actors at a convention in Maryland

I had nergasms when I met Peter Molyneux and Cliffy B.

On Twitter Pam Grier (hottest old chick alive), Dwight Howard, and somebody else follow me. That videogame girl/ex porn star Misti Dawn has replied to like 3/5 tweets or something.

Handful of friends who are either famous athletes, or at least former pros.
Ex Steeler Richard Seigler (now a coach at Portland St), ex Saint James Allen, ex Seahawk Keith Heyward Johnson (now a coach at University of Washington), then really good college buddies with former GB MLB and defensive captain, current LB with the Bills, Nick Barnett. He's one of the coolest, most down to earth, loyal dudes I know. Incredibly kind.

Also met my look alike, Brent Barry. Oh and literally ran into former NBA player Damon Stoudemire. Like, I walked around a corner, didn't see him, and bumped into him kinda hard. I'm not that tall, but he is TINY!

I've never been caught up with celebrity or reaching out to celebrities. I've seen people, on Twitter, beg celebrities for retweets, replies, and follows, and it's pretty disgusting. Just my two cents, tho.

I've met Jamie Bamber(Battlestar Galactica), Felicia Day(The Guild) Julie Benz(Buffy, Dexter), Wil Wheaton(Star Trek: TNG, The Guild, Big Bang Theory) Shawn Michaels & Mark Henry(wrestlers) and I guess Tycho & Gabe of Penny Arcade count, I used to work at a Best Buy they would regularly come into. I had a classmate who was on the Wonder Years as the little sister of Fred Savage's best friend.
