I'm in need of a solid iPhone 4S case. The one I have/had was awful, so I'm gonna toss it. I stopped by the Verizon store earlier, but I know they always charge ridiculously high amounts for them.

I heard the Otterbox ones can cause some problems and are pretty bulky, so I'm looking to avoid those.

I'd prefer whatever it is to be on Amazon, since I've got a crap ton of gift cards there.

I've got an Otterbox defender case. I feel like I could throw my phone on the concrete as hard as I could and it wouldn't do a thing to it. It's some serious protection.

Yea otterbox is really a must have in my eyes only way you can get anything better than it is getting a case thats like a otterbox and waterproof;)

but seriously get a otterbox I havent had any problem with them since I start using them a long time ago when I had a 3G they also got them in amazon warehouse so you could get one for a good price from there

Ended up ordering the Defender one that comes with the holster or whatever. It's the only one I could find sold DIRECTLY from Amazon and assured it'd cover the 4S as well. Some comments on the others said it fit the 4 fine but not their 4S, which I thought was weird.

Cost me like $32 in gift cards after I paid for one day shipping with my prime account. Not bad since Verizon wanted $60 in store for it.

look here might get one you like cheaper than that[/QUOTE]

Yeah, I checked those. The guy I talked to at Verizon recommended that I just get one on Amazon, but said to avoid buying those used if I can. Sometimes they warp or take damage in certain spots that I guess can affect it or something. Either way, not too concerned.

I'll give a heads up on Friday when I get the one I ordered. Thanks for the help, gentlemen (and possible ladies, I guess).

Only the otterbox defender is bulky.

I have the Otterbox reflex and love it. I went with it as it's thinner than the defender and it's in two halves so I can just slide the bottom off and stick it in my speaker dock at night to charge and listen to music.

I've been using it since I got the phone last fall and haven't had a single problem.

This. Absolutely love the Reflex case.

Awesome, thanks to both of you. I'll check the Defender one I have out tomorrow and if it doesn't suit me, I'll send it back to Amazon in favor of the Reflex.

Some of the reviews say it scratches up the sides of the phone pretty good, but they could be idiots. The sides don't really matter that much, I guess.

One person gave it 1 star on the fact that the purple, called "plum," was too dark or something

Any thoughts on the Ballistic cases? Sprint store sells those. He said that it is weighted on one corner so if dropped it will strike there and it is protected.

I have an otterbox defender, reflex and an Incase slider. Of them my favorite is the slider. I like the look and feel of it, and it is the only one of them to have protected my case (not that I don't feel safe with the others, I just never dropped it while it was in those.) I dropped my phone from about 5 feet onto cement, I heard what sounded like a shatter and pieces hitting the side wall of my garage and figured I would have to go get a new phone. When I picked it up the only thing broken was very bottom of the case.

I bought the otterboxes to try something new. The defender and reflex both feel really solid, but the defender was a bit bulkier than I liked. I really really like the reflex, except for the fact that the plastic hard case that goes on over it broke on mine, just with normal in and out of pocket use. It looks like it detached from the edges and created a sharp point. I cut off the part that was cracked and a week later the bottom developed the same hairline fracture. Other than that I do like the case, the style is top notch.
