Politeness edit: Thanks OP! :)

maybe a silly question: do they have problems with DVDs from Blockbuster and/or other region DVDs? wouldn't mind upgrading my Batman begins, pulp fiction and maybe grabbing stupid Crazy love for 5 bucks each

Original dvd in original case

So basically original coverart and original dvd. The blockbuster dvd cases are regular size dvd cases so I had no problem trading those in last time they did this.

Other region might be ymmv, it DOES say any, but store managers tend to be dickish about this one.

Thanks for the input - I will give it a shot, and if I get denied... well I will report, and I won't make a fuss about it

Will get Hugo for sure. maybe Super 8 and Batman Begins too. Wonder what else has gone on sale or had a price drop since last time. Wish I hadn't bought Justified season 2 on DVD.

Going to get Hugo. Have a bunch of DVDs complete in cases I got from Hollywood video for 25 cents a piece when they closed. Never going to watch them, do off they go.

Finally, I still have a box full of 40+ DVDs from last time they ran the program. Hopefully I can get rid of a bunch more this time.

are you able to use the coupon on any movie or do they put the traded in movie's title on the coupon? Would love to dump crappy dvds to save one some Blu's I've been waiting on.
Are all dvds accepted or is there a specific list? And can the $5 off coupons be combined for a single item?
Should be any DVD for any blu-ray that's $9.99 or more, but as always there's bound to be confusion at the stores. Last time, a few locations were demanding that you buy the same title in blu-ray that you traded in on DVD.

You cannot stack the coupons. 1 coupon per blu-ray.

Thanks. I wasn't sure. Missed out last time they did this.

Oh, awesome. I'm going to have to try and get together some more DVDs, depending on how many more weeks this is gonna last...

In for Batman Begins, Crazy Stupid Love (shamelessly, I really enjoyed this one), Gran Torino and Social Network.

I've got a stack of DVDs I want to get rid of so I'll probably take advantage of the upgrade and save deal as usual.

I'll probably pick up AvP for $5 and Leon: The Professional if it's still priced at $9.99 (so it'd be $5 as well).
Hopefully some of the Disney/3D movies I want go on sale over the next few weeks so I can get a $5 break on them too!

INTERESTING! the ad specifically mentions that you can get a Rolling Stones concert blu ray for $5.00 off with the upgrade & save promotion... in previous promotions, music titles were exempted!

Nice to see Justified season 2 at $19.99, almost bought it this week for $29 with some outstanding credit so I think I'll grab it and bring an old DVD for another $5 off. Thanks OP.

Nice that Upgrade & Save is back, though I'm betting you'll see some $9.99 movies drop in price to $7.99 or $8.99 as soon as this promotion happens.

Out of the ad, might be a few items worth picking up assuming I have some DVDs I can get rid of or ones I can pick up on the cheap cheap.

I've still got a stack of like ten movies that I didn't get to take to Best Buy the last time they ran this promotion. HUZZAH!

I wonder if they get in all the TDKR movie cash blu-rays (and what they're priced) before this ends.

And I didn't see this promotion until the day it was gone last time. I've got a ton of awful DVDs to get rid of.

I would really like to buy the best buy exclusive Mission Impossible 4 bluray for $17.99 after coupon. I bet the price is only for $22.99 this week. Anyone know for sure?

does season box set works for the upgrade and save? if so, does it count as one DVD or the amount of DVDs in the boxset? thanks.
Does anyone know if a consumer can trade in HD-DVD's ?
As I recall, other posters (old thread) did and others like me, couldn't. I think its YMMV.

I went to Best Buy today and checked out the dates on the signs for movies on sale now, and most of them were dated to be on sale until 4/28. There is some really good movies that are going to be on sale for this. go make your list now.

Wouldnt mind private ryan for 10, but last time getting them to even honor their own promotion involved an act of god. They told me I had to trade in used electronics for the promtion to work.
too bad most of thier Blu's are vastly overpriced. Can you price match
and also use a coupon i wonder?
I would also like to know this. Will probably hit up my half-price books clearance rack for some cheap dvds and cash in on this.

Don't make your lists now because the prices change on saturday midnight.

You missed the whole point of his post that most of the movies on sale now will be on sale until the 28th.

Thanks OP! So glad to see this sale return. I was just thinking about making another pass through my DVD collection and seeing what I can spare. Going to try some of my unwanted HD-DVDs this time since I can't get rid of them elsewhere.

Definitely in for Justified S2 at $14.99 even though I still haven't watched the first season yet (which I also picked up for $14.99 last sale). Also have my eye on some Marvel movies like Thor and Captain America, though I'm hoping to get those both for $10 or less.

No mention of the NEW Fullmetal Alchemist movie . Its listed for $19.99 :br: & $14.99 :dvd: on the site.
I got a few dvds to get rip off, so probably jump for this deal.
As I recall, other posters (old thread) did and others like me, couldn't. I think its YMMV.
It was YMMV, as I tried it at three different stores with two of them doing without issue and the other one giving me no end of crap on it.

If you have any combo HD-DVD/DVD flipper discs, those are DVDs, so they shouldn't give you any grief over those.

Is Super 8 worth a blind buy for $13? Heard decent things but I don't want to get trolled by JJ again like I did with Cloverfield.

Seems like Marvel Blu's are hard to find cheaply. Iron Man and Hulk took awhile before dipping to a reasonable price(sub $15). I ended up biting on Cap this week because i had a $5 reward zone coup, $15 is a good deal for my favorite super hero.

It's an ok movie but I'd guess by Black Friday it'll be $10 multiple times.

I'm going to grab Justified Season 2 and both Batman movies. I have both on dvd but want to upgrade.

Word.

FYI, a lot of these titles are already on sale for the listed prices in the ad so they're mostly already on forward placement racks and in some cases sold out. Hugo was is shockingly low supply when I was there tonight and Super 8 only had one copy left but the slip cover was beat to hell. Point being, it might be wise to stake your claim now and pick up anything you want for a return/re-purchase on Sunday. Already grabbed Social Network, Hugo, and Moneyball (there's two versions now, one without a DVD copy but for the same price. . .) for myself. GL!
too bad most of thier Blu's are vastly overpriced. Can you price match

Yes on both of them.

People were using the manufacturer's coupon and the $5 TnS coupon on Real Steel.

I really liked Super 8 and I'd say yes. It's not so much like Cloverfield as it is a homage to Spielberg. It reminded me a lot of E.T. I did, however, find the monster to be as disappointing as Cloverfield, but the rest of the movie is solid.

There's a lot of amazing movies currently listed for $9.99 on the site, hopefully they don't change prices overnight.

Here's a list of movies that are $9.99 on the site, making them $4.99 AC (Assuming they don't change the prices overnight). I had to stop writing all of the unknown titles just because there's so freakin' many, but there's a lot of quality stuff in here, too. Examples: LOTR individual releases, Hangover 2, Wayne's World, American History X.. so many.
