Anybody have a list of cheap ps2 or gamecube games that I can trade in there from gamestop?

Yes me and a friend both checked out at the front registers and the only thing weird that happened was she had to scan our drivers license. Other than that she didn't have to type in anything or get a override.

She scanned the game, scanned the coupon, removed the spiderwrap, then scanned my id, and hit total and it came up 10.71 after tax. I watched her the whole time and she didn't type anything in. Only button she pressed was total which applied the coupon.

I thought the coupon wouldn't work because the bundle was 1 cent under the coupons stated starting value (coupon says 29.99 but the bundle was 29.98) but it worked without a hitch. This was around 3pm central yesterday.

HMM, my visit was about 9 pm central yesterday, so they may have changed the coding. My bundle was 41.xx, so the only reason I can think of is that it is now coded as hardware by target.

Just looking on Targets website, here are some decent games that are $29.99 (at least online). Some of them show for only one system so I dunno if theyre different prices for the other system or what.

Uncharted 3
Portal 2
Dead Island
Crysis 2
Rayman Origins
Gears Of War 3
Sonic Generations
Kinect Sports
LA Noire Complete
Shadows Of The Damned
Left 4 Dead 2
NFS: Hot Pursuit
Dead Rising 2: Off The Record
Assassins Creed Revelations
Dance Central
Homefront
Dead Space 2
The Lord Of The Rings: War In The North
Deus Ex
Blazblue: Continuum Shift
Cars 2

Also Prototype 2 releases today + you get a free 12 pack of Mountain Dew with it's purchase.

And Darkness II would be $20 after a coupon if anyones looking for that.

This could very well turn out to be the coupon of the year. Sure, it can be a hassle/time drain pulling it off and YMMV from one extreme end of the spectrum to the other, but so far this is awesome.

I just got through trading in a dozen old games, mostly garbage OG XBox games that I had picked up at the gamestop clearance for literally $.10 or $.15 each and even a couple of ancient PC games in CD jewel cases that he entered as PS1 generic games...only 2 of the Xbox games even showed up in their system - for the rest the guy simply used "Promo game 1" and "Promo game 2".

For all of the disc only games, I simply went to thecoverproject.net and printed case inserts off for the games, along with an extra copy of each insert that I cut up and folded in half and inserted in the case to use as "manuals". So if you're looking to shop around at Gamestop for $.99 games, you could try printing off new case inserts and "manuals" from coverproject for those loose/disc only games.

Their list had over a dozen systems with games eligible - PS3, PS2, PS1, X360, Xbox, Gamecube, Wii, DS, 3DS, PSP, PSVita, and I believe a couple more.

BTW, I spoke with the Target mobile gentleman at length, and these Target mobile employees actually work for Radio Shack. If you run into any problems/issues, here is the Radio Shack corporate number to call. 1-800-843-7422. The guy told me he personally had traded in a dozen analog phones the week prior when they had the phone trade in deal.

*You can trade in older gen games such as DS, PSP, PS2, PS1 etc.
*You can use coupon on PC games.
*You can use the coupon on games, points, or accessories. Total must be $30. (ex. $20 XBL card and $10 game will work).
*You can not use coupon on pre-orders.
*You can not combine coupons to use on one item. (ex. Can't drop $60 game to $20 by using two coupons)
*If game doesn't scan, tell your Mobile Rep to type in "Promo" and then add it to cart. These SKUs (Promo Game 1 and Promo Game 2) were made for this promotion in this particular case.
YMMV

BTW, does anyone have a coupon still in their posession that could post or PM me the 26 digit numeric code under the UPC? I'm curious as to whether the coupon code/UPC is generic for this deal, as all of my coupons printed with the same 26 digit numeric code.

io, have your clerk specifically read the details of the promotion if there are any problems/issues. One of the 4 or 5 bulletpoints under promotion details specifically states, "If you cannot find the game listed under the system it is for, search that system for "promo game" and select that option for the game."

They should take your NBA Live 07 and just about any other crap as long as it's for a valid system they take trade ins for, is complete, relatively scratch free and not cracked.

This needs to be in the original post.

Things have been smooth for me. My last trade took under 5 minutes to complete. Rep didn't even scan my PS3 games, just went straight to promo.

*You can use coupon on PC games.
*You can use the coupon on games, points, or accessories. Total must be $30. (ex. $20 XBL card and $10 game will work). Only highest priced item gets discounted. This is not mentioned on coupon terms so it is YMMV
*You can not use coupon on pre-orders.
*You can not combine coupons to use on one item. (ex. Can't drop $60 game to $20 by using two coupons)
*If game doesn't scan, tell your Mobile Rep to type in "Promo" and then add it to cart. These SKUs were made for this promotion in this particular case.

It was exclusive to PS3 and were for launch as in first run / preorder bonus, so only common in as many as those prints in circulation.

To the gamers who are having trouble looking up games when doing the search feature the reps are suppose to type in Promo, you will be using this for game one and two....

At the game system selection screen, pick the system your game belongs to,

Type and search for Promo Game #1
Pick Promo Game #1
They then ask you 3 questions about quality and condition of game

2nd game..
Type and search for Promo Game #2
Pick Promo Game #2
Same questions as before

Each game is valued @ $10 x 2 = $ 20 discount coupon toward any game $29.99 or above

The directions for the reps should be on the game section of the browser.

It's ymmv if your rep takes multiple games, the rep I had said one trade in session per day per id

So you could effectively get 50% off point cards, correct? Or I guess more accurately a B1G1 free.

Ie buy 2 $20 cards and it will take $20 off...

I was lucky enough to get a VERY knowledgeable Mobile guy when I did my trade yesterday. When he logged into the system, and email was already opened on his screen. I asked (playing dumb because I've read enough of this thread to know there is a mythical 'word from corporate') "what's that?"

He said "It's an email from corporate. Apparently the ad was supposed to say 'select games' but it basically says any games. So these are the instructions to enter a promo code for games that don't show up'

I played dumber: "So I could trade in any game? Even if it doesn't show up in the system?".

He said "Just about. As long as it's for one of these systems. All because of a typo"

Am I the only one who finds this hilarious?

At least it's a sign that the promotion will stay in effect all week, which is epic. I plan on doing some T-to-BBY flipping on Thursday with six more traded-in games. :applause:

Also, I'm going to sound like a broken record, but do we have confirmation that the coupon will work on XBL point cards and/or Live subscription cards, or is it like the PSN cards in that you'd need an unobservant/uncaring employee to allow the coupon to work on them?

It's incredibly YMMV - it takes a manager over-ride to work and those are few and far between and getting fewer as the week goes on.

NVM the code is (somewhat) unique.

So far I've had problems only in getting a TRU PM (needed to print out the entire online ad for a PM) and getting the coupon applied to the DS3 combo packs (had to do return/rebuys on them, as the "missed coupon" wouldn't work on just the receipt + coupon possibly due to the time passed since I purchased the bundles).

Thanks to whoever mentioned the $.01 jampack/sampler/demo discs for PS2, Xbox etc. - I forgot I had a bunch of those and got those traded in as well.

I'm at the point I'm just using the coupons to get 1st party Nintendo DS games for $9.99 each as I've already gotten everything else I want for $9.99

seems they only take certain game sand they need to have the original box and instruction. They wouldn't take Hot Shots Fore! I traded two other PS2 games and did the BB price match to get KoA for $20 and change. Excellent day.

Don't forget Witcher 2 on PC, you can get the vanilla version for $10 and download the 10 GB patch to upgrade it, or you can get the current version for $30 (yes I've seen both in-store.) If you can get Target to PM BB, you could also get SWTOR for $20. Witcher 2 on 360 is also $40 after coupon.

Beware that many Targets have Homefront on clearance so that wouldn't be an option.

That's Target's policy. Any game rated M will prompt to check ID, and as far as I remember, you can't bypass it without scanning the customer's ID. When I worked there a few years ago, I had to card a 90 year old woman who was buying a Call of Duty game for her great-grandchild. That was awkward.

I think a manager can override that but that's YMMV.

It did not qualify when I tried yesterday. The clerk scanned both the PSN $ and the coupon and my total was still $50.

They are on sale for 40, and 20 bucks is a nice price for one.

Yesterday when I went in the stores trade in system was down -_-

Yeah, but PMing them to $29.99 via TRU and then getting the coupon applied so you get them for $9.99 each is even better.

So far I've gotten MGSHD collection, FO:NVUE, and RDR GOTY for $9.99 via the PM. Any other $39.99 PS3/X360 games worth doing this for? Too bad as others have stated there's no Silent Hill collection in Target stores
