Gohastings 30% Used games valid May 22nd only

Thanks for the post. Nothing for me though. Was going to pick up Asura's Wrath for ~$30 shipped, but I'll probably get a free rental down the line or something.

Edit: Catherine (X360) ~$18 if you missed out on the Gamefly sale. Not a bad deal at all.

Nothing for me either. I cleaned up on PS3 HD Collections during the last sale, and just don't have much left to buy. (Still want Goldeneye and Just Cause 2, but this sale won't make either of them cheap enough for me).

A lot of prices seem to have gone up... Sly and PoP HD trilogies are both $30+ and inFamous 2 is also $30+.:whistle2:/

(And yes, I realize their prices are set by market. I'm just saying I'm surprised that they have increased so much.)
I just bought a used game from this last week! I should have waited :bomb:
Did you see what the game is priced at now? GoHastings is not averse to jacking up their prices will simultaneously offering a timed-percentage discount. (So the true savings is less than it looks.)

All I'm saying is you might not necessarily be out too much dough.

You know, I was wondering why a lot of the games I was looking at had different (and higher) used prices when I clicked on them compared to what the price was on the search page.

Halo Anniversary, for example, has used marked as $17.93 when you search for it but has a price tag of $22.24 when you click on it. Guess I won't be giving 'em my business too often, even if it means losing out on a few bucks - I'm one of those crazy people who don't like it when businesses play that kind of game.

this. everything I had an eye on had its price raised, I maybe save a dollar over what I would have normally. Ill pass.

Seems as if everything that was in my wishlist has gone up in price by a lot. I'll just sit back and wait for the next sale, along with waiting to read the complaints about how "shipping kills the deal" and people asking "what the difference between used and previously viewed is" along with "do used games come with manuals?".

Thanks OP. This promo is actually not too bad. Finally picked up Uncharted Golden Abyss for sub $30 shipped, along with Wipeout 2048 which got knocked down to $18 before tax and shipping. Only thing is, I will still need to buy the online pass for it later, which I've seen as low as $5 online. Usually don't buy from Hastings as they are known for downright criminal shipping charges, but this time it was tolerable considering you are saving 30%. Thanks again!

Thanks OP!
I just picked up Gears of War 3 Limited Edition for under $25 shipped

I almost bought this from amazon for $44. Good thing I waited
I noticed the same thing.
Probably a temporary glitch.

Was able to refill my cart just now as the items returned to stock.
Uncharted 3 CE is $40 after code. Tempted to trade my vanilla copy into BB for $24 (after promo) and upgrade...
Hmm...what are the odds that you'd actually receive a complete one? Or is this one of those situations where they're selling new ones as used (like with the Skylanders bundle).

I've dealt with GoHastings customer service in the past and have always been taken care of. If it didn't come complete, I'd just return it. The only holding me back is the fact that this would be cash out of pocket versus using the BB/AMZ/GS credit that I have.

Gears 3 Epic Edition would be about the same price if anyone else is interested...

Hmmmm Metal Gear Solid collection for $25 shipped..... I still think I should be able to get this for under $20. I;m going to hold out.

Most prices were too high but I was able to pick up 2 games for Xbox 360...Forza 4 for about $28 and WWE 12 for $23 before shipping and tax. It was about $59 total for both after everything.
Thanks OP, picked up Chrono Trigger on DS for $9.76 and was about to grab Picross 3d for $6.99 when I noticed a new copy was $4.96 :)
Chrono Trigger's popping up as $16.97 before savings for me. Do they have multiple pricings depending on the used condition or something?

Oh, also, I'm going to go ahead and be that guy that talks about shipping ruining the deal and muse about how movies cost ~$1.30 less to ship when they're the same size as most video games.

DAMN IT! I wanted to SAVE money! Why'd I have to come here!? ....I picked up that Marvel Super Hero Squad (Not the uDraw one) that my cousin has been bugging me about. It was 12 and change, so not a huge hit...BUT STILL! Thanks OP...I guess.

I swear, the one game I've held off on buying and waiting for a price drop refuses to budge. lol Kingdom of Amular has been $43 for months on their site. I refuse to cave in. The moment I buy it, the price will drop like a rock. So frustrating.

Picked up Jak and Daxter HD+ Pikmin Wii Play (want to play it before Pikmin 2 Wii play comes out) for 45 total, not terrible, but this damn website keeps making me spend over budget =P.

Keep an eye on AWD. I believe they've been as cheap as $29.99. Currently it's $39.66, but the price fluctuates. This may be a cheaper way to go, especially if you have Prime.

not seeing it. Gears EE is still near msrp before discount.

Maybe, mine was $13.94 pre-coupon, either that or they bumped up the price.

ill give a hint on why kingdoms of amalur is still at a high price. its a freaking LONG game. I started it a few days back and im trying to power through it. I have almost 40 hours into the game and I doubt I am halfway through (though I did a lot of DLC). And I POWER through games.

This means not many people are trading it in yet since they haven't beaten it or are waiting for any possible further DLC. Another month or two this game will drop once people start getting rid of their copies.

Dark Souls is a pretty good price... $21.86 shipped. I've seen it hover around there on eBay, but usually it goes for around $30 used. Cheapest new price I've seen is on Amazon ($36.99, though currently $39.99 on :360:).

Just another random deal I found was on Twilight Princess. They're asking $9.99 for a used copy. They have the Nintendo Selects used version listed separately, so it should be the plain box art without the tacky value labels. Normally this goes for $15-$18... so not bad.

Anyone know why gohastings used game prices fluctuate so much? Some games seem to double in price, since the last 30% off sale.
Snagged Dead Rising 2 Off the Record for $10.18 shipped - thanks OP!
Just got my cancellation notice...

This is addressed in the FAQ section of the GoHastings thread http://www.cheapassgamer.com/forums/showthread.php?t=303198.

Answer: GoHastings.Com claims to not raise their prices prior to sales. Their pricing is based on algorithms that consider things like supply, demand, competitor pricing, market rates, etc. If a game was $10 before the sale and $15 24 hours into the sale, chances are there were only a couple of copies of the game and someone bought one when the sale started, thus affecting the supply and demand. You are not the only one monitoring a Wish List on GoHastings.Com. However, there have been some clearly documented instances of raising prices right before a sale, especially with books rather than games.

I did notice that a particular game on my wish list is about $2 more today than it was during the last sale, but I'm not sure if it's an evil scheme or algorithms.
