Either way, unfortunately yeah, a lot of people ordering these are most assuredly re-sellers. It's hard to tell if this one is moving as fast as Chell's model. I don't see it flipping for nearly as much, personally.

When I preordered on Amazon a while back, it was $139.99. I would guess that's the price coming from Neca, but I'm not 100% certain.

It's hard to tell from NECA's wording. So now will there be 5,240 units in circulation? Doesn't that defeat the whole purpose of having these be limited?

Yeah, sounds like they made an extra 240. They never did re-print the Chell guns. But it seems they're being looser with the P-Body model.
 
Maybe but if you read the above link it mentions that they sold out of all there pre-orders but because of high demand they decided to produce an additional 240 units.

Hell, Chell's gun isn't even going for more then $250'ish right now, and that's much more rare. This one won't have much resale value, I don't think.

What are you talking about? Chell's guns are all going for more than 300.

edit: just cancelled my order. Can't wait till they announce an additional 1000.
 
I think the hype for these has died down... the original Portal gun was wanted by everyone because it was so limited. But this P-body version basically doubled the original supply, even though it's technically different. And though nothings official, you know there's going to be an Atlas version soon.
 
I can't find anywhere where they even state that this model is limited to just 5,000 units. Just that there original pre-order allotment was for 5,000 units. They also keep saying in the same message that it goes on sale July 1st. Does that mean more will be available then?

New Portal Device replica based on P-body’s Aperture Handheld Portal Device
5000 units will be made
Lights are Orange and Red

Sounds and trigger action will remain the same as the original Portal device

Everybody and their brother wanted the Original for years, and that interest doubled when it was announced to be limited. But nobody ever panned for a P-Body. I wont be canceling my order because it'll look great alongside Chell's in my game room. But yeah, this was just a consolation prize from the start.
 
You won't be the only one who cancels because of this. Not a good business practice to support. Now there's nothing stopping them from creating as many as they want. I'm debating if i should cancel my amazon order now, might even be able to get one on sale eventually.

Yup. Stated that they're announcement to manufacture more than the intended 5,000 limited edition units made the item useless to me as a collector.
 
I'm hoping they respect the email but if they don't, I'm refusing delivery and filing a dispute with pp. but let's hope it doesn't come to that.
 
emailed them as well but i have my doubts. i mean why is the order in 'processing' this early? it won't ship till late June, yet the order form cannot be edited.
 
wow so first people are complainin dat da first chell gun was limited and all the resellers brought it up so regular fans couldn't get them now people are complaining this isn't "limited" so you people can't resell it for massive profit. neca should just shoot themselves to have to deal with u people in 4 one because i is fan
 
You people defending Neca are idiots. If they wanted to please fans, then produce 10,000 or 20,000 or 100,000.

But don't say you're making 5000 and then make more.

First them re-releasing the gun as the p-body was pushing it. If i had been lucky enough to have bought the original I would have felt cheated as part of the draw of having one was it being limited. There was never supposed to even be a p-body. Now there breaking there word by producing more p-bodys. If they never intended for this to be limited they never should have stated it to be.
