What are some franchises that need to be resurrected

I think about this alot. I would like to see some straight up reboot and not just HD spruce ups. Others I think just need some sequels.

Advent Rising: Felt like the story had a ton of potential, the game just had too many issues.

Brute Force: Cool idea poor execution.

Star Wars: Republic Commando

Star Wars Jedi Knight/Outcast games: Lightsaber battles should be fun and strategic, not a quick slash here and there.

Now if the early games are good then the better the remake will do. If socom offered a collection using PS1/PS2/PSP then that would really help get them back on track.
 
Not necessarily on consoles but X-Wing and Tie Fighter deserve another run. Especially Tie Fighter. I'd love an excuse to buy another flight stick.
 
its wayy to many to name but a couple i Would love to see wild amrs, fear effect. bloody roar, .hack , xenogears :hot:, galerians, the bouncer

I opened this thread to post Colony Wars and that was the first one on their list. I also agree with Syphon Filter.

As far as stuff not on their list, I'd like to see Dino Crisis get revived with proper treatment (i.e. not an Xbox game about Dinosaurs in space) and a Fighting Force beat em up would be cool.

I'd love to see NBA Street Ball games in the vein of Vol. 1 & 2. Seems like this gen had to take every fun light hearted series and make it all intense and gritty and just ruin it.
 
Deadly Creatures 2 on WiiU.
And I third a new Oddworld, but more similar to number 2. I want a new Out of This World/Flashback style game so bad.

Lair...lol. I wish that this game could be remade but not as a joke like it was before. Just thinking about the success that skyrim had with dragons I feel like a trluly great action dragon game with a decent story could do well.

Loaded / reloaded. I'd like to see this series come back at least for a reboot on psn.

Descent. One of the first games I plays on psx.

Streets of rage. At least an hd remake trilogy would be nice. Rather se Sega remake this rather than trying to shovel sonic crap down our throats.

Heavenly sword. Game was too damn good not to have a sequel. I'd take this series over enslaved any day of the week. I think naiko is a great main character that can sell systems. But for me I enjoyed HS and I miss the franchise.

I kinda thought HS was God Of War but with a chick and minus a damn jump button. I tried to like it, but the forced SixAxis portions of the game made me hate it.

Oh and I believe the characters name is spelled Nariko btw.:razz: To me though, she sounded like Peta Wilson from La Femme Nikita.
 
I am trying to figure out why rockstar made midnight club LA instead of making an awesome smugglers run game. My ps2 came with two games but the first game i bought was smugglers run. I would like to see a shinobi since the last few ninja gaidens seemed to be a joke.
 
Another one I'd like to possibly see resurrected is NARC. I actually enjoyed the 2005 game from Midway and the effects when you used some of the drugs you confiscated from the criminals were downright hilarious.

I'd also love to see a reboot or an upgraded version of the first Suffering game. The first one was excellent and I couldn't stop playing it, but somehow, some way Midway fucked up the second one....BAD.

Personally, I liked it better than God Of War. Also, once I figured out the SixAxis portion of the game, I liked that aspect of it.

It is actually Anna Torv, who later went on to star in Fringe. Personally, I liked all the cheesy over-the-top acting in the game. Too bad Ninja Theory wanted to go multi-platform.

I'll second HS, I enjoyed it so much and I liked it loads more than GoW3... And yes, the Sixaxis parts were too cool once you got it down, especially at that time period.

Also, I'm still waiting on a proper sequel to Super Mario RPG: Legend of the Seven Stars. Gimme more Geno!!!

Don't know if you can call it a franchise since there was only one of them, but I'd love a new Downhill Domination.
 
the warriors. it wasnt a franchise per se but the fucking game was awesome and if you made another one or hell even just remade it from the ground up with 2 to 6 person co op and let people create their own gangs and fight over turf that game would sell like crazy.

i loved the hell out of the 2 player co-op so being able to experience the game with more people from all over would be sweet.

:applause:I had an absolute blast playing this last gen and I would love for Rockstar to make either another one or bring out an upgraded version for the PS3.
 
I'd like to see ikaruga turned into a side scrolling shooter. And a life force remake would be lovely. With the hdtvs we have now I think it's better for shooters to be side scrolling rather than vertical. (IMO).
