Is $250 + $30 GC a good deal for a PS3? Suddenly in the market for one after my original 40GB Phat got YLOD'd, but I can wait to replace it...

I'm confused. Why are people talking about this being $30 or $40?
cheapyd's post said some new ps3 games would be $20 off and 49.99 is not $20 off.

Mom's and kids who don't know what games cost are the biggest sales these guys have. No point in lowering your price to match if people don't know to PM the other price. How can stores keep selling Just Dance 3 for $39.99 when Best Buy sold it for $13.99 and $11.99 before? Wal-Mart sells it for $19.96. And what's up wth BEP Experience? Most stores charge $19.99 for it, even though Toys R Us charges $12.99 and Wal-Mart charges $9.96. What is the point in charging more than your competion? No one is going to buy your loot unless they can price match.

Is there any place on the net that will have the Best Buy TV deals posted from this ad?
Bestbuy.com on Sunday.
I meant that might post them a little earlier than Sunday.

Spec Ops probably isn't worth it for that price point. I do want it though sometime in the future.
i agree, but i just realized it might be worth it if you combine 49.99 price with $10 coupon for $50 in store pickup

You have no idea how non savvy the majority of shoppers are I consistantly sell games on CL to people who love getting games for $50 tax free even though if they just waited it would be $40 or less(really less after @gamer coupons:bouncy:). There's a large # of people who buy games & have never been into GS or BB they shop Walmart/Target only so that's all they know. How can stores keep selling Just Dance 3 for $39.99 when Best Buy sold it for $13.99 and $11.99 before? because they aren't the ones that can decide that, manufacturers decide when price drops can occur and companies can have sales depending on how they negotiate with the manufacturer.
Do you think stores can just go, "hey the new black ops costs 60 everywhere, let's just sell it for 15 and we can beat all the competition!"

Hmm...nothing I want this week. I'll keep waiting.
Those Best Buy Wii games are ad filler - they have been at those MSRT for a good month, so there's nothing special about this weeks prices.
I went into my local Best Buy yesterday and the video game section had been picked clean - I would estimate that the store sold close to 70% of their stock during last week's sale.

Except when they make price errors (which seems to happen a lot) or stacking coupons. The PS3 deal last year, that was almost free, made me like Target a lot. They're almost always lame. And when they're good, you can just PM it somewhere else.

Now, Wal-Mart on the other hand, flat out sucks.
