Play Asia (US starting soon, Asia Version Available)

Edit: Also Amazon.de ships to the US. I bought my Sonic Generations Collector's Edition from them. Not sure if 360 will be region free, but PS3 is so I'll post a link to that.

It's listed as 129 Euros, but they take the Italian tax off when shipping to the US, so it comes out to 109 Euros for the game and 10 Euros for shipping. So 117 Euros for the game shipped which is $150.xx. Only a few cents more than the US version!
not sure if frys will follow through but hope they do. i ordered two one for me and one for sister.
I was on the Borderlands 2 Gearbox forums and someone was mentioning how you could preorder at Frys in store, but it wasn't available online yet. That was a few days ago. I guess we will see what happens.

While I did really like the first one I felt like it got kinda repetitive (even for a loot-fest) and I could never bring myself to finish it. Because of that I'm stuck between "excited" and "meh" for #2. I've read some previews and stuff but I haven't really seen much on what they're actually improving or if it's just going to feel like a big expansion pack.

Nice. I ordered ten, one for me and nine for my "sisters". Hope it goes through!
When do they charge?
Thats what their website says for preorders

A credit card authorization will be processed when your pre-order is placed. However, your credit card will not be charged until the product is shipped.

Oh yeah, Fry's called me about 20-30 min ago to authorize my card. Cuz I ordered some other games too, and it was over $200. But I asked the lady on the phone about stock. She said she didn't have a number for how many they were getting yet, but at the time I was called they only had about 14 orders for the 360 version.

Edit: I don't know if that's 14 units total, or orders. Cuz some people could have ordered 2, 3 or more. But that's still low, and Fry's usually gets a decent amount of stock.
Might as well place an order here too. Missed out on big retailers, have one at buy.com, but who knows about them.
Same with me. Hoping one of them will come through.

Tempted to order another but I already have one at Amazon which I'll almost certainly get and then another at J&R which I'm not so sure about..

I'd probably order another but I get charged tax at Fry's and these things aren't cheap.

Still mad at myself for not getting one from amazon or BB when I had the opportunity. I have one on buy.com but I might place another order for one here since I'm not too confident with them.

I was so pissed I missed out on the preorder for this...now it's available I can't pull the trigger. I'll be satisfied with Vanilla. Or maybe I'll randomly find one a year from now at Best Buy for $29.99 haha!

This is awesome (if it ends up coming through). What with all the gearbox guys saying they prob. won't be making more. I see people posting $150 though. I had to pay $160 for shipping. Anyone else?

Do you see this as a collectible to hold onto for a while, or one that will quickly lose value? I don't know much about the developer, and if they'll keep this limited, or if I should just sell it off fast, before they do make more. I didn't want to start another thread for this, and I don't mean to take over this one, but I was just wondering what some of you people thought on the matter.

I doubt they will make more. But remember, you are putting in $150 minimum to begin with. You would have to sell it for over $225 to really make anything worthwhile off of it. I would imagine they will be listed for around $300 each on ebay, probably selling in the $250 range on average.

How about you keep it? There are plenty of people on multiple sites that want one, and flippers are keeping them from one.

Just take a look at how everyone is trying to jump on these wherever they pop up also with gearbox saying they don't know if they will make anymore I'll easily say they will hold their value and I also see them rising in stock if nomore are made by the holidays which more than likely mean they won't make anymore I plan on keeping mine sealed for awhile just to see and buy the vanilla on BF

Don't know about you guys, but I'm going to keep one sealed for display, and the other chest bring to office to keep documents, pens and whatnot.

Yeah, that's what I figured, based on the early listings on eBay and whatnot. There isn't much demand now, I don't think, and I'm not sure if there will be come release. That's the turning point, though. Either the price goes up, or you don't make a thing on it. You just can't trust the "limited" claim, nowadays. Demand will be at its highest just before, and just after release, more than likely. If they don't release more, then there will be the odd guy here and there willing to pay a bundle in the coming years, I'm sure, but again, I don't know much about this developer, and if they're going to truly keep this limited, or go for some easy money.

So, sell fast, make a little, or take a gamble. I always lose on the gamble, for some reason...

Oh, by the way, has anyone read any numbers for this release? Ten thousand to fifty thousand? Less? Maybe more? I'm thinking less than fifty, as I couldn't see that many selling out so fast at such a large price, on a not-so-popular title like Borderlands. Although, with all these new websites/shops claiming to be getting them, they could be holding thousands back.

Well, that's the idea, I'd like to make it a part of my collection for a while, as an investment, really. I'd like to have at least one true collectible in my collection. If things don't seem right, though, I'll sell it off fast. I've never paid more than $60 for a game before, and I'm not willing to invest that much into one, if there's no profit in the future, whether that's a week after release, or five years after.

Thanks OP! Tough to shell out an extra 25 on shipping and tax but I guess thats what I get for not ordering the first couple days it was up. :(
are there no other skeptics out there?

Edit: OH boy! Costcaptain.com just got some in stock! Im cancelling my Amazon order!:bouncy:
lol yea I'm with you on the skeptic side being these have been "sold out " for awhile but hey let people enjoy their hopes of trying to get one maybe it comes thru maybe it doesn't that's the only risk worth taking now if they were putting a hold on your card until then I would say hell to the no

exactly, I will take $150 to the blackjack table at my local casino, instead of a revolving charge on my account

Am I mixing this up with another title/CE where people were saying only GS, AMZ and BB were the only real retailers getting supplied with these? If so, it seems to me that Fry's is gonna get the shaft like FYE and Buy.com. Then again, they didn't have problems getting the Diablo 3 CE so I dunno. What also seems unusual to me is how Fry's is listing them available for sale way after the other retailers were told to shutoff preorders. I think all of the retailers stopped taking preorders at the same time making me think it was a coordinated communication effort by 2K.

Either way, thanks OP I missed out on this and will place a preorder in.

How about you post your concerns about flipping in the shopping morality thread and leave it out of here?

well then shouldn't he be asking his flip question somewhere else as well? always the second guy who gets busted:whistle2:#

I'll voice my concerns about trusting Fry's with any pre-order. They're notoriously bad about over selling their pre-orders. I won't be pre-ordering from them any time soon even if that means I miss out. I'd rather hold my money for a sure thing than gambling on if I'll get a copy.

EDIT: Didn't someone from the game company say they sold out of them day 1 and had no plans to get more out? I don't remember who it was but it was at E3.

I'd say they're pretty confident about getting copies since my local Frys had signage today promoting pre-orders for the Ultimate edition all over their 360 section. Looked like it was the big pre-order they're pushing at the moment.

Why would they have it listed for sale, have its own item number etc of they knew they weren't getting them in. Apparently Fry's starting excepting preorders for this a few days ago I'm store, and just listed it on the site today. They may oversell preorders but those who order early will probably get one. Guess we'll see.

Does Frys do the Best Buy tactic on pre-orders and continue to charge/hold your credit card? I got one of these reserved at Buy.com, which I am not sure about. I don't want a continuous hold charge from Frys especially when nobody is 100% sure they will even honor the pre-orders to begin with. If people can still continue to pre-order this rare item after a day or two and they don't shut off pre-orders and say that this item is sold out/unavailable when their quota has been reached, then I would find this pre-order from Frys to be unreliable and I may cancel. Maybe they will send customers some sort of credit/make good compensation if they cannot fulfill their pre-order obligation?

I don't see it being that big of a deal if Fry's places a hold on your CC funds. It costs about $175 shipped. Unless your credit card has a credit limit of $500 - what's there to really worry about? o_O

um how legit is this site?

they have it for 128.99 and if you use this coupon code CPE2012 you get 20 bucks off total for me was 113.88!

i really doubt it goes through though. if not ill just cancel my order, and yes they already pre-authed my card.
