i received this email from amazon, sorry if its repost or wrong forum.

We recently sent customers who have shown an interest in video games an e-mail with a promotional code for a special $50 credit toward the purchase of a qualifying PlayStation Vita console. We've realized that the code we initially sent was incorrect. We're very sorry about that. If you received a previous e-mail, please disregard it and use the code below. If this is the first e-mail you receive, please use the code contained here.
For this week only, simply use the code below in the Promotional Codes box at checkout to receive your $50 discount on the PS Vita Wi-Fi or PS Vita 3G/Wi-Fi (offer valid when shipped and sold by Amazon.com). Codes are valid through Friday, July 27, 2012.

edit: they sent me three code and im not going to use it, pm me if anyone wants it. gave all of them!

I feel ya, we get burned by the Texas summer heat and Amazon on top of that. I have like 80 bucks amazon credit that I don't want to spend since I'm used to not having to pay tax there.

Is it bad that I was debating even trying to pick it up at that price? I could eat a lot taco bell for that kinda money. (I'd obviously just try to flip it if I DID get a $50 Vita)

Are you all *really* that crazy to think a legit place like Amazon would sell fifty buck Vitas? If so, you deserve to have your time (clicks) wasted.

$50 by itself... no. But some "buy x get vita for $50" i could see happening

I tried and it said it didn't qualify based on the contents of my shopping cart.
 
I usually get most of Amazon's video-game related emails. Wonder what gives here. Probably wouldn't get it anyway because of tax.

I thought i wouldn't use it either until i put the vita in my cart and it wasn't showing any tax on check out. So I'll definitely be buying the vita if i can get my hands on one code
 
Can't believe they didn't send me a code! It's only for the 3G version anyway right? Don't really want the 3G if its always gonna be $15 a month.

Damn, I have about $200 bucks in credit just sitting around and didn't get the email. Spent quite a bit in video games the past couple of weeks too. :(

you don't have to pay 15 a month. you are actually never even required to get a data plan. i choose when i want to buy my data plan for my vita. For example, I bought a one month plan for March, chose not to in April and May, then chose to get another month plan in June. It's actually very nice to not be required to pay monthly but when i want too :)
