I might have to check it out.
Anyone know when to expect the GOTY / Ultimate edition of Skyrim?
Not sure, but it likely will be a while. They still want to publish and milk more DLC, but I also keep hearing ES6 as if it's around the corner, especially with next-gen consoles on the horizon. Too many factors to guess, but I would say go ahead and pick up Skyrim vanilla. There's plenty of content there to last you a LONG time without needing to worry about the DLC..
So far, I've downloaded all 3 of the packs and I'm not too impressed, so I wouldn't worry about buying them in the first place. If you must, you could always trade in the vanilla copy for the GOTY copy if it turns out to be worth it.
As it stands:
Dragonborn: I enjoyed the main quest, but it was rather short. There's a lot more to explore, but I've always found Morrowind rather boring.. and for some reason even in a different game/engine, it still feels like a dull environment.
Hearthfire: It didn't take long for me to realize "I just paid 5$ for house DLC. ****!".
I haven't started Dawnguard yet, but the ratings seem average for it..
