Wow. Very limited. No locations in Ohio are doing this.
None in California either. Pretty unbelieveable.
I looks like this might be aimed at some of Best Buy's slower markets.
Well good. Judging from the blowout thread, Best Buy has lots of slow people to aim at.

When are you suppose to get those gamer welcome kits? It's been almost 2 months since I signed up and I still haven't got it yet but I have got a mag already .

I immediately got it after the first month in the mail.

Wow, Wheeling is the only WV location.

I have some good friends in Wheeling and the whole town is a dump, maybe not dump, but it's old and run down. I find it hard to believe that they can support a Best Buy.

Wow, thanks for giving us some Southern WV love Best Buy...I would have actually gone to check out some stuff before I buy it on Amazon.

I am nearing 2 months without getting mine yet as well.

It wouldn't surprise me if many of these stores are "on the bubble," in terms of BB considering closing them. Most of them are in rural, less populated areas so this could be part of an attempt to drum up some traffic and see if these stores are worth keeping.

I agree. The only in my state is 1/2 way across the state.

What do you mean?

Yeah. Wanted to check this out after shipwreck talking about his experience... but morehead city? That the only Nc location. Meh....

So, a private shopping event was done in the past?

I don't plan on buying anything large, but there's a best buy listed in my area. It might be worth going in and checking out anyways?

Shipwreck talked about it. They ad a drawing for $50 gift card and they won one. He bought some games, really only worth it if you "collect" reward zone points.

They seem to do them quarterly.

They used to give swag away but the last one was only GC drawings. Last year I got a dowload card for Gunstringer and Fruit Ninja. That was pretty sweet.

The reasoning behind the more limited locations holding the shopping event may have to do with the fact that the one I was at the employees outnumbered the customers like 3:1. This was the same day the first gaming blowout started.

I remarked to the gaming specialist how Best Buy should have held it before the store normally opens. That way Reward Zone members could have gotten in earlier on the deals and not have to compete with the general public.

I'm surprised many of you have not been to these events... but then again, I also learned that not many locations participate in these. That is obviously a factor in participation.

I've been to 2, and they were pretty cool. I particularly dislike that a family of 5 will each get a ticket towards the raffles. That includes the parents and their children. And by children I'm talking infants.
Question, does the 2X stack with gamers club 2X on videogames, making it 4X?

Cuz I might buy a VITA if thats the case
That's the best thing about tthese promos there's no restrictions besides the price points
a $100 game purchase nets
100 Base RZ points
100 RZGC points
100 RZ points for this promo
25 points for RZ silver

$250 vita would get
250 RZ points
250 bonus points for this promo
BUT CONSOLES DON'T GET 2X POINTS FOR GAMERS CLUB

Not sure if in-store P/U works with this either since the $10 savings code deal would still be in effect.

speaking of collecting rz points, now that i'm silver i see that i am able to "bank" pionts and print them out when needed. i didn't see this feature before when i was a regular member. is this exclusive to silver? it would only make sense since regular members don't spend enough to bank points anyways.

weird that this event has no store participating in california. this must be a special one. didn't the last one a few weeks ago give 3x rz points?

Just bought $1800 worth of hardware for my company last weekend at BB, 4x points on that would have been a killer bonus. I'd try a return/rebuy but there's no way I'm driving to Morehead City. I was in that BB a few months ago and it is a tiny (relatively speaking) mall store that seemed to be struggling for customers.

Anyone at or going to one of these this time? My piddly local store actually is doing one this go around, so I'm thinking about heading up there.

if i wasn't working i would do it. people made it seem like they were giving $50 gift cards every 30 min and that your chances were like 50% you would win one. i like those odds, but again, stuck at work...

Just happen to be going to Best Buy tonight, thanks OP. Will try the scavenger hunt thing while the wife is flipping my games lol.

I called every best buy in my area and they all told me to call the same best buy store, so when I decided to call that store, it said they were closed....

I just got home from my store and won a $50 gift card. I re-upped my GCU and am using the rest of it ($33.xx) to in-store pickup Madden 13.

about how long did it take from the time you got to the store to when they announced that you won the gift card? and is that contest a drawing/lottery like last time, in which you give them your name when you enter the store and they announce winners every 30 min or so?

I'm asking because I don't think I'll be able to stay for the full 2 hrs to find out if I won anything.
