Its my understanding that this season the meat of the plot will be Harold Perrineau as Damon Pope. Supposedly a drug lord with ties to the One Niners. I believe his daughter was killed when Tig tried taking out Laroy.

Jimmy Smits is worked in as well....

Wondering if the ending from season 4 is tied up or if Danny Trejo will be back in any form.

STOKED!

That is absolutely awesome! I'm jealous!

Well, that was certainly awesome. I'm looking forward to seeing what goes down this season.

Also, I never fail to be shocked by what this show gets away with showing on basic cable.

i didn't get the leg thing either. this season is going to be EPIC!!! i can't wait till next episode. archer needs to come on now so it will be FX epic

After disliking Tara for most of the previous seasons, I thought she finally hit her stride last season. Seems like it's going to be downhill from here as she morphs into a younger Gemma, giving zero fucks about a lot of things.

That scene with
Tig standing there screaming, watching his daughter as she burned alive
was so awesome/uncomfortable.

Also, good to see I still need my closed captions when Chibbs has a line.

I have a feeling that because of what happened, Tig is gonna have a full on psychotic break from reality. As if he wasn't all ready a raving psychopath. Just another nail in Clay's (very deserved) coffin too. All because of Clays lies, holy hell is gonna break loose.

Ive always gotten a kick out of Tig having 1 or 2 moments a season where you see just how depraved and deviant that character is....I agree with the thinking this is the season he full blown flips the fuck out.

Yeah...was just a plot extender really. Was good tho. Was rather amusing seeing Nero and Jax play chicken with Popes guy. Looked like Nero was getting a huge kick like he was going back to his gang bangin days
Tig's daughter. The one that's alive, not the other one.
I dunno man, near the end of the first episode, Tig's daughter was looking pretty damn "hot"

on another note, anyone else really like Nero but has extreme skepticism as to what part hell play in the grand scheme of things?

If nothing else, Clay is going to off him when he eventually finds out, despite the fact him and Gemma are separated (and divorcing?). It's a drama and there's no way things end well for Nero. I don't think he'll sell out the Sons. He seems to genuinely like Gemma and I think he knows what kind of shit Jax is dealing with so he can empathize and sympathize.

In a perfect world, Jax gets the club out of their mess, Clay dies, Jax walks away from the table, Jax and Tara and the kids go start over outside of Charming, Gemma learns to leave the club behind and starts over with Nero, Jax learns from Nero how to leave the life behind and operate a business and have a steady but not insane income, Ope sits at the head of the table and takes the club out of the guns business and back into the porn business where they should have been given all of their connections to it.

And of course, none of that will happen.

According to EW.com and someone on the writing team, someone will die this week.

If thats the case, FX is leaving it to be a total shock episode. Either that its not a major character

Exactly what Im thinking...make you think theyre going left then at the last second they go right.

It was narrowed down to like 5 characters, all major except for one. I'll leave it vague as I'm actually pissed when I stumbled upon the link (and of course, I had to read it once I saw the title of the article). It will kind of ruin the shock of the episode for me.

Ive run into several opinions saying its Chibs but they wont give a reason why.

Ive tried looking at IMDB to look at a episode by episode cast breakdown to see who doesnt make it any further but theyve gotten better about that being a easy way to check.

I think that last night's episode could very well end up on the top ten list of best eps when this series is over. I nearly cried when he took that last shot to the head. :(

The guy who played Half-Sack was found dead. This whole story is bizarre.

Sons of Anarchy actor Johnny Lewis was found dead in the driveway outside the Los Angeles home of an elderly woman who was the apparent victim of a homicide, ABC News reports.

According to police, Lewis' death was caused by a fall, but it's unknown if it was from the stairway, balcony or roof. (TMZ reports that sources saw Lewis climb onto the roof). Whether Lewis fell or jumped remains unclear. The cause of death for the woman, who was in her 70s and found inside the home, has not been released, but police say she was the victim of a major trauma.

Remember other celebrities we've lost this year

Lewis is currently considered a suspect in the investigation. "The best we're piecing together now is that it appears that some type of altercation occurred inside of the house resulting in the death of the woman," LAPD Commander Andrew Smith told ABC News. "Then this individual ran outside, had an altercation with a couple of neighbors, ran back into the house and by the time we got here, he had fallen or had somehow died on the driveway."

While no details are known as to the relationship Lewis and the woman had, Smith said it's possible the actor was renting a room from the victim.

In addition to his role as Kip "Half-Sack" Epps on Sons of Anarchy, Lewis, 28, also had roles on The O.C. Boston Public and The Runaways.

Me too.
Wow. Dude apparently had some issues while on SoA from what I've read too, but that's just messed up.
Now the police are saying not only did he kill his landlady, he also beat her cat to death and then dismembered it with his bare hands. Yeesh. They're saying he was likely on PCP or meth. Poor woman and cat.

But enough of this. Tragic stuff, but I'll keep the thread on topic after this.

I caught up on this season the past two days. This show really hasn't been doing much for me lately, and it just seems like Sutter is out of ideas. He basically is just cutting and pasting story arcs from The Shield and fitting them in the motorcycle gang framework. I also just don't find the characters as compelling. HumanSnatcher compared this weeks death to Lem's, and I have to take issue with that. It didn't come close to matching the intensity of that moment for me, and for all the talk of brutality, Lem went out way worse than (insert dead character here).

Oh, holy shit.

Brutal episodes here. Setting the tone for what is to come, for sure. But Damon Pope seems unstoppable. I wonder how they ultimately get over on him (or maybe they don't at all...)

I dont really like nero, but maybe he will grow on me. Him playing chicken with the car that was chasing him and jax was pretty cool. He also seems like a good guy.

Personally im getting tired of all the female bullshit. Sometimes i feel like im watching a soap opera. Im tired of Gemma always twisting other people to get them to do something she wants. Now this child custody thing between wendy and tara isnt really anything i want to watch.

Speaking of Gemma, i was hoping her a Tig would get together, considering in season 2 i think they almost had sex. I dont know if that was just lust or they really do like each other. But it looks like so far this season Gemma is on a downward spiral. And if Tara told Jax about how Gemma was in on John Teller being killed, then she would be right there with clay. I could see that happening and Gemma and Clay being the villains of the show down the line.

Its pretty obvious that the home invasions are being done by
Clay and the 3 guys that joined the club this season. In the one episode you see the 3 guys with Clays safe. I dont really know why they are doing it, maybe to get the club to think it was the 9ers? I know one of em had some prosthetic leg.

Does anyone hate Juice? I was over at the sons of anarchy official forums and it seems like a lot of people hate him for being a rat and killing Miles. But personally i never looked at his situation as a rat, and i like his character.

The death of
opie really sucked imo. Once Jax took over as president i was thinking maybe he could turn the club around and him and opie could be just like their dads were back in the day before the club got into guns. But Opies death reminded me of Dom in Gears of War. They both lost their wives, had kids, and just seemed like they wanted a way out. They both eventually gave their lives up to protect their brothers. So even though im really sad to see opie go, he was one of my favorite characters, it makes sense for him to lay down his life for the others.

The future of the show...

Clay...
he seems like the main villain. I know each season they seem to have one main clan or bad guy. But overall through the whole series it seems like clay is the real villain. He was the one who killed John Teller and Piney. Also it was his actions that started a chain reaction to see Opie, Donna, Popes daughter, even Miles die. Maybe im missing more. All his decisions have led to nothing but death to his own club members and others. I dont know how long the series will run, but i think it would be nice to see him get his in the very end of the show.

ONLY READ IF UP TO DATE ON SHOW

The show became a chore to watch. Like Opie said, "it just ain't fun anymore". Aside from the disappointing S4 finale and depressing first half of S5, I got tired of the one jackass (usually powerful) coming along and causing problems formula, The whole Gemma and Tera thing got old, and I don't really care about Jax personal problems anymore. Plus it is total bs that Clay and Tig are still alive, especially Clay. The guy has done so much damage, it feels too late to kill him and keeping him alive is just annoying. I still enjoy watching the others, Elvis, Juice, and CHIBS!!!.. but they only account for a small portion of the show.

Looks like he will be back afterall-

I personally like the direction the show is heading. The death of
Opie
was sad, especially at the closing of the casket with
Jax standing over his best friend's dead body.
But the dilemma this season is sky high and everyone is literally fighting to stay alive. Aside from Jax, any character could potentially get killed off.

I like the antagonist(s) of this season especially Pope. As another CAG stated I think Clay will end up showing his true colors (I think he has even more planned) and ultimately get his at the end of the season.
