CAGiversary!
Jerry "The King" Lawler collapsed after suffering a heart attack live during Raw tonight. King was stretchered backstage where CPR was administered. Lawler was then taken to a nearby medical facility. Michael Cole gave several updates throughout the rest of the show, but did not provide any further commentary during the evening. Jerry had tag teamed with Randy Orton prior to collapsing.

About 6:40 in is where the trouble begins.

Lets take a moment to remember a company that was infinitely more entertaining than our "favorite" Monday night Supershow; Japan's Frontier Martial-Arts Wrestling. FMW may be gone, but the legend will NEVER die.

Here's a little-know fact; there was an FMW Super Nintendo game. This is the only gameplay video of it on YouTube (READ: It's my video).

2013 WWE DVD release schedule here:

http://www.wwe.com/wweshop/dvd/2013-home-video-release-schedule-26050774

Bret Hart unreleased matches has my eye.

Best of Nitro Vol 2, Best of MSG, Best of War Games, History of WWE, Raw 20th Anniversary Box Set, and Best WWE PPVs have my attention. More so if they show up on Netflix.

I used to watch FMW tapes all the time back in '98-'99. Shit was crazy. Sometime soon I'll poke around on youtube and see if I can find some of my favorite stuff. In terms of sheer blood-letting ability, Mr. Pogo is way up there. Stranglemania is actually one of the funniest things I've ever seen.

Regarding the upcoming releases, all the WCW and ECW themed ones are no-brainers for me. Probably the Bret Hart one and the MSG set as well.
I'm still waiting for that Brya... I mean Daniel Bryan two disc Blu-Ray set.
What would that even consist of? Off the top of my head:

Bryan vs. Jericho on NXT
Bryan is the mystery man for Team Cena at SummerSlam
Bryan winning the US title from Miz
Triple threat submissions count anywhere for the US Title
Bryan wins MITB
Bryan cashes in on Henry but its reversed
Bryan vs Henry Steel Cage
Bryan cashes in on Big Show
Big Show manipulating Bryan/Henry keeps getting DQed/Big Show runs over AJ leading to Triple Threat Steel Cage match with Bryan/Show/Henry
Those three or four Punk vs Bryan Champion vs Champion matches from Raw and Smackdown that were a tangent of the Battle of the GMs feud
18 Second WrestleMania match with Sheamus / The rise of YES
Bryan vs Sheamus 2 Out of 3 Falls Extreme Rules
Bryan vs Punk Over the Limit
Bryan vs Punk vs Kane No Way Out
Punk vs. Bryan w/ Ref AJ at MITB?
Bryan/AJ Wedding
Bryan/Kane Anger Management

Is that 2 disc worthy?

Magic 8-Ball says we're getting new tag team champs this Sunday. The WWE should just go ahead and call the team of Bryan and Kane "Anger Management". Has a nice ring to it.

Did something happen around the time of the Kane/Bryan match? The crowd has been completely quiet since then and Lawler hasn't said a word.

Edit - never mind, they just mentioned it. Hope Lawler is OK.

Jesus. If Cole wasn't BS'ing, Lawler legit collapsed and CPR is being performed. Please be okay, King.

Just turned Raw on in the background, overheard Cole saying they're performing CPR on Lawler. Does not sound good.

Anybody else getting the same vibe from when they announced Owen died on PPV? Plus now Cole is being quiet during this match, this is not good.

This is almost worse than the Owen Hart incident in some ways, especially with the show going on in silence. The silence makes me feel like King didn't make it.
I hate to say it, but I havent gotten this type of vibe since Owen Hart.
I didn't see the PPV live when Owen died, but Cole not saying a thing during the entire last segment has me very nervous.

agreed with everyone - i was watching baseball until KaneRobot mentioned it, then I flipped the channel and the vibe is just way too bothersome to keep watching.

they said he is breathing on this own what is a good thing... hopefully everything will turn out okay

that KANE chokeslam could been a good way to break someone ribs

Aw, you edited your "I think he's dead" post between the time I saw it and hitting the quote button.

Cole just said he's breathing on his own and would try to give another update before the show ended, but there would be no commentary for the rest of the show.

Even more than the Owen thing this reminds me of the Steamboat thing where he was physically active in the ring and then had a serious medical issue. Think it's probably time to stop having near-senior citizens physically involved. It's certainly possible the two things are unrelated, but probably better to err on the side of caution.

Hopefully he's okay. It's just weird how the show is going on without commentary. I've watched raw since episode one and this is the first time that i can recall raw being silent of commentary. It's really a strange feeling.

Edit: agree Kanerobot Jerry shouldnt be involved in storylines anymore. They have a whole roster of guys in the back and they keep depending on him. As a pro I can see him wanting to get involved but really enoughs enough.

well even if he was dead i doubt we would hear about it tonight. They would have to contact his family and i would hate to even think the WWE would be low enough to tell his family Hes Dead on national tv instead of a personal phone call or a meeting .

about the senior citizen thing,, anyone at anytime can just drop over and pass out . Hell few years back i went outside to remove ice off my car and was outside for around 20 mins.. I came back into my grandfathers house and next thing i know i was on the floor and they said i just passed out for no reason what so ever... Few weeks later i was sitting here on the computer and next thing i know my cousin coming walking into the room and screaming that i passed out and was on the floor for probally a good 15 mins ... thank god after that i never had another one (i think first time i got overheated and body rebooted itself and 2nd time had the flu and the body just rebooted itself)

in the end i hope everything works out but have a funny feeling we will not see the king again for a few weeks and then he will come out and say his final goodbye

Dude not for nothing but I hope you've gone to the dr. at some point for a check up.
Body rebooting isn't a normal thing. Hate to see a fellow cag from the olden days gone cause of health issues.

Edit: sounding more like the king has suffered a stroke.

Those of you that recorded Raw, it happened right at the top of hour 3, literally when the Raw logo (copyright 2012 etc) was on the screen. You hear Lawler take four deep breaths, struggling to breathe, then you can see him slump over at the table.

I hope he's okay. This whole no-commentary thing is beyond freaky. Michael Cole kept it super together during his announcements and he deserves a ton of respect for that.

It's tough, but I'm trying to finish Raw. The Owen Hart vibe is all over.. Owen Hart was actually trending shortly after Lawler collapsed and Cole made the first announcement.

I hope King winds up okay. I can't think of anything in his match that could've led to something, but if that was his last match, at least it was good, and he went out as a wrestler in a main event role on Raw. As Randy Hales said on the Torch's livecast a week or so ago - it's impressive for him to still be main eventing a show seen by millions each week.

Full Raw thoughts -

Loved the show starting off with Bret, who wore something amazing. He found a pink and black plaid shirt. He got one of the loudest, most sustained pops on WWE TV in ages and included an OLE song too. Punk interrupted his promo, complete with the Hart homage gear. One fan completely lost his shit at Punk and it was great. They had a great back and forth deal that talked up the PPV main event, Punk's super-long title reign actually surpassing Bret, and teased Punk-Bret in some form too. Thank God WWE didn't try to mute the asshole chants. Raw Active doesn't include Bret, but does include BRODUS CLAY. Team Black Guys came out to face Miz and Antonio - huge step up for Antonio. There's going to be a Youtube battle royal to determine the U.S. Title challenger...well that deflated me a bit. The match was fine, but nothing special. I liked Aksana being alluring on the apron, but didn't like having Cesaro lose. Loved everything he and Kofi did though - they've got great chemistry together.

Loved that they kept in Booker's really awkward silence while he tried to explain why he suddenly banned the Brogue kick on SD. They did a WWE HQ deposition skit and they had a chick recording it on a camcorder even though it's being broadcast on TV. Sheamus made a 'shit' joke with his name. Yippie. This went on FOR-fuckING-EVER. Sheamus 'smashed' the camera, which apparently could only record in black and white and display a You Can't Do That on Television-level of smashed glass effect. ROH might've been able to top it. Six-diva tag. Some chicks are sending each other Touts back and forth, which matters for some reason. And Eve won that NBC show. Kaitlyn has new, hot Tron-ish gear. Eve won with a neckbreaker. Loved Punk calling the fans AJ's Superfriends and Brodus...tried to be funny interacting with Punk. His match against someone who isn't named The Armbreaker is up next.

Loved the chick behind Cole laughing when Brodus was mentioned. Shockingly, he didn't win and Orton did. Loved Punk doing the side backbreaker while in Bret's gear. I'm glad they brought up Punk saying he was a Heyman guy last year. LOLed at Cole trying to say a basic elbow drop was a reference to HBK and Montreal. Not even the flying elbow, just the regular one. They had a pretty good TV match that was cut short by Dolph's interference. Yet another match they booked themselves into a corner with. King came into help Orton, so I guess we're getting a HOLLA HOLLA TAG MATCH PLAYA. Odd to have Cole get cut off mid-sentence for a break.

Yup, it's a holla holla tag due to a AJ. Things like this really make the roster seem super-thin. Punk holding the tag rope in a sarcastic manner amused me. This match without anyone as a replacement for King really dragged due to Cole's lack of emotion during his work. God, Vickie screeching during Punk and Heyman's meeting sucked. Then the match meant nothing as they just focused on Punk and Heyman - to the point of them blocking the shot of the RKO finish. Poor Dolph. They showed another graphic for Bret interviewing Cena, which I don't want to see - I like Bret's deal from the opening being it. Doing more risks overstaying his welcome.

Loved Heyman's look of disgust at Striker during the interview, and Punk's delivery of 'I'm a Paul Heyman guy'. The SD Kane-Bryan vid still rules. Kane and Bryan had another wacky skit with Dr. Shelby...backstage. Slater continued his promo war with Ryder and faced...Ry...back... Goldberg chants continue. They showed fans humping the air and piped in FEED ME MORE chants. WWE HAS THE #1 MOBILE APP IN THE WORLD. Loved the PTPs getting a whistle as a new prop. They met with AJ over being number 1 contenders...no, a porn didn't break out. This deal was tremendous, and now they have to face Bryan and Kane to get a tag title shot.

They had a match. The PTPs act is finally clicking without AW. Kane and Bryan won after a chokeslam to Bryan on DY. Well, that takes things further away from Rey and Sin Cara holding the gold. Something happened with King, and kudos for Cole for doing so well with things without King there and with tons of stuff happening all around him. They came back with an extended video package and Alberto faced poor Tyson Kidd. Nothing at all from Cole about King, but he sounds back to normally vocally, so I'm hoping for the best. HOLY CRAP, TYSON ACTUALLY LOCKED ON THE SHARPSHOOTER! Dammit, Alberto made it to the ropes. They actually found a way to make the crowd care about something after the Lawler deal and then they went right back to not caring. They brought up King after Alberto's promo - King passed out and Cole is nearly crying with every word. They're doing CPR...I don't like this.

Sheamus came out to face Otunga...I really just wish they'd end the show. Cole's there, but is just silent. This is real scary. Sheamus got the crowd going again with the Brogue Kick on Otunga. Booker's actually on Raw for a change. He'll strip Sheamus of the title if the kick is done again before the end of Booker's investigation. This could take a while - Booker couldn't even do his own research on the tag division. They're back with video packages, Tout, zero announcing. Bryan, Kane, and Shelby are trying to save this. They didn't nix the word corpse from this. Shelby's idea of TEAM FRIENDSHIP is nearly as bad as Team Ambition. More videos, no VO...this is just weird. Cole's back talking and he's clearly been crying a lot. King's breathing on his own, and there will be no further commentary tonight. I can't believe they wouldn't just let Cole go to the back before, but at least they're giving him a break now.

Cody faced Rey, and this reminds me of a PWG DVD with no commentary by default. They had every SD match they've ever had, and Cody won after Miz helped. Then Cody hit Miz with the Cross Rhodes. Wel, that was unexpected. Guess it's a 3 way for the PPV. COLE IS STILL OUT THERE. I guess they're doing it to keep up appearances for the live crowd, but this whole show now feels like them just planning for some damage control.

Cole's back saying that King's reacting to some tests, and Cole seriously deserves a major pay raise for tonight. Cole was praying for him on TV and I nearly lost it. Bret did his interview with Cena, compared Punk to HBK and Cena to himself. Both guys looked like they'd rather be anywhere in the world but in the ring, but they did their jobs as well as could be expected. Loved Punk doing Bret's pose. Cena is doing amazingly well here. He's full of fire and it's helping get through the last ten or so minutes of this show. Punk did great here too, and the crowd not knowing what was going on with King helped the show as a viewer. Punk said he was better than Austin, which is interesting. Cena said that Punk's been champ for 300 days, and for 300 days, the title has been irrelevant...not really sure if that's a smart thing to say. Loved Cena bringing up Punk wearing other wrestler's gear and using their moves and that he needs to find himself - he was full of passion here. LOVED LOVED LOVED this ending deal. It was something they've needed for weeks, and finally did it here. I was terrified when Punk went to punch Bret that he might fall, but thankfully, he didn't and slugged Punk. The show needed some kind of feelgood moment, and this was amazing. Punk clutching his gold for all it was worth ruled too, and King is now stable. YES!

So, can they call Kane and Bryan.....Crazy KaB? That's what I'm naming them in 13. Wow, you do get a weird vibe when Kane comes out for some reason. Freaky. Glad to hear he is stable.

Edit: Wow, you can hear him slur words and just not get a complete thought out. When Darren starts to get momentum, you can see King hunched over with medical personal. You can also hear the concern in Coles voice.

Really scary news about Lawler. I really hope he's okay.

I felt so bad watching that Youtube video knowing what would happen. Eerie.
