Okay so a guy is trying to sell me a new nintendo 64 everything is still inside the plastic its just that he opened the box up before...
he wants $50 dollars for it... is that a good deal? I really don't know anything about the value of the nintendo 64 system so that's why i ask..
thank you

I would not say it is new, unless you know for a fact it's never been opened. (Check the analog stick of the controller and see if it's loose as well, because in my experience they get loose pretty quickly.)

A lot of people will save all the plastic and stuff for some ungodly reason. My grandmother actually puts her PS3 back in the box and wraps up all the stuff after she is done playing.

Anyways, let's say it is unplayed or whatever. $50 is not a great price. Another thing to consider are the availability of games. Is there a place you can get games on the cheap, or is it going to be one of those you're gonna have to buy online deals? There are some nice games for it, but they will cost you. Some games require the memory expansion which will set you back $20 or so.

So--if you want to enjoy the N64 games, it's too expensive.

lol yeah 50 bucks for a minty n64 in box isnt bad at all
try to work him down lower

make sure all original inserts are there, instructions, promos ect...

50 to me sounds like a good price. I have seen them go for around that at used game stores here for the system alone. Check the controllers like someone else said and look over everything else in the box. See if you find signs of use. If it looks like it did sit out or the controllers look like they have been used a lot give them a counter offer of 40.

It's definitely easier to score a cheaper N64 than at that price, but then it's likely to be in poorer condition. If you only were looking to pick up a 64 to play some games, I'd look for a cheaper option since any quality 64 game is not dirt cheap. If you are someone mildly interested in collecting and the condition is a big factor to you, then $50 might not be such a bad deal when it comes to finding a 64 in pristine condition.

What's wrong with a grandmother playing videogames?

My grandmother played Ocarina of Time....

Nothing wrong with it...just a bit shocking.

Edit: The more I think about it, it's really funny because I think about my grandmother playing video games. This is a woman who calls me weekly about her direct tv and outlook express.

Nothing, just surprising to me too. Neither one of my grandmothers has any idea how to use a computer, guide based cable TV, or a cell phone let alone how to hook up and play a video game. Hell my parents can barely play video games, I think the last one I got my dad to play was Sonic on the Genesis.

The last game my dad cold play was pokemon stadium, the mini-games specifically the "jumping fish game" where the magickarp have to hit the hand counter and you have so much time to do it in
