Both my 60GB & 40GB phatties died this summer, so I need a new PS3 console. I'm hoping to find an awesome deal on a new system now that the "super slim" PS3 model is arriving next month.

I prefer to buy a "slim" instead of the newly anounced "super slim", but lowest price tag wins out ;)

I'm looking for the current Slim model but I noticed EBgames.com already has the Super-Slim 500GB Assasin's Creed 3 bundle for $299.99

Hmmm, time will tell I guess. It's still up to the stores themselves to decide if they want to fill their shelves with the new consoles & therefore clearance the existing stock.
 
I think slims will go for cheaper, maybe $200 msrp instead of the $250 or whatever they are now. I think that $200 is the lowest it will go maybe $180 if you get REALLY lucky with a deal or something. But definitely above the $150 mark
