Microsoft Works Word Processor pasting issue

I have a disc with this on it left over from when I bought a Dell XPS 420. I no longer have the Dell computer but I kept some of the software that came with it. Microsoft Works was one of them. Every time I try to copy something and paste it into it the program locks up. I have uninstalled and re-installed it a few times and it works for a little bit then just crashes when I try to paste into it. Any ideas as to what is wrong? I also have Works on a laptop that I purchased and if I remember right it started to do the same thing. The copy on the laptop came on it when I purchased it at Best Buy.

EDIT: Found out what the issue was. I didn't know their was a paste special that I had to use.
