awesome, been looking for a good deal on these plastic instruments.

Thanks!

The reviews have been pretty bad on amazon. people saying the instruments are used, etc... anyone have any experience with this?

The bad reviews are probably from people that bought from the 3rd party sellers. The ones sold by Amazon should be new, and easier to return.

This is an okay price. This genre is pretty much done and can be had for cheaper. Newegg had them for 35 not too long ago. If you want to play get it, otherwise wait for a better deal cuz I think we are doing them a favor for buying them at this late in the game.

The drums and guitar are pretty sweet. Guitar doesn't have that thing they have for rockband guitars where you set it how it sounds to wah wah, echo or something etc. Drums are great as well with the cymbals. The game, band hero, blows.

For an entire kit, it's a great price. That Newegg deal was a stellar deal and not the typical deal.

While the notes on the songs for Band Hero are terrible, there are a lot of great mainstream songs. Also, Band Hero was the first Guitar Hero title that incorporated drop-in/drop-out at any time and any instrument you want to play (want to play 4 drum sets? sure!). It was such a good feature that they had to immediate retrofit Guitar Hero 5 with the feature. Plus the graphics are great. Probably the cleanest looking graphics of the Guitar Hero series.

the deal on Amazon is over. Still live on Best Buy.

Still kind of on the fence...Maybe see if there will be an amazing deal on Black Friday/Cyber Monday

Weren't all those features introduced in GH5 and then Neversoft just reused the same engine to make Band Hero?

No, it was the other way around. The titles were done by separate teams simultaneously. When the GH5 team saw what was done in BH, they incorporated the features into GH5. GH5 and BH practically came out at the same time. Because GH5 came out first, people thought it was BH being derived from GH5. But if you look at the development blogs and the interviews, the GH5 team will acknowledge that they picked up some great ideas from the BH team. I think GH5 won the race because their team was bigger and more experienced. I'm pretty sure the base engine is still from the main team that did GH5 but the BH team thought of some ideas separately.
