Still hesitant to pull the trigger on Dead Rising 2: OTR. It's getting harder and harder to find but I still want to toss it on the backlog. Kind of hoping to scoop it up for closer to $10. $15.99 has been the price for a while. Not a sale but a decent price none the less.

Lots of things that interest me, no money to pay for it. Wish Best Buy would PM some of this stuff since I have some credit for it. A Best Buy near me has Valkyria Chronicles for the excellent price of $40.
is there a reason why there isn't a Splinter Cell trilogy for the xbox?
Prolly a deal Sony struck with Ubisoft.

Reference: E3 2012 Sony Conference (Just before FarCry 3 demo)

I can't believe how low Dark Souls is going for these days. I know it did pretty well but it still somehow offends me, lol.

Its not as good as Demon's but its still one of the best games of the gen. I wish every dev put gameplay first.
Is Downpour worth the $16? I have watched videos and read stuff about it, but I am still undecided.
IMO, no. Its just not worth the time investment, regardless of price.

I'd only go for it if you have no backlog to speak of, but i'm pretty sure most of us have 50+ amazing games we haven't touched.

Story, gameplay, mood, pretty much everything about it was disappointing to me as a huge SH fan. I had to play through SH1 to get the taste out of my mouth.

Have you played SH before and are you a big fan? Then no but if you don't care that it really isn't true to Silent Hill, then you might enjoy it.

Yes. The game felt more like a Silent Hill game to me than Homecoming did. A lot of the people who hated the game were the ones that hated any other Silent Hill after The Room, because those were not made by the original team.

But hey, it's a gamble really. I found some things about frustrating, but it was far from an unplayable monstrosity that IGN made it out to be.

On topic as far as the list goes: I would have bit on Mortal Kombat if it were the one with all the extra characters... but October is pretty full enough for me anyway with about 3-4 games coming in this month. :\ Plus I'm still playing through DoA 5 and Mists.

Ugh, October is waaaaay too heavy in game releases for me to even partake in these glorious prices.

I have like 5 launch titles to worry about 4 of which are from Newegg already, lol.

Would totally bite on Asura's Wrath, DMC, Tales, and Castlevania.

I really don't have much of a back log anymore. I'm currently playing Borderlands 2 and RE6. I have never played Silent Hill. Not sure why I never did, but yeah. I have just been curious about it for a long time. That and Heavy Rain, but a friend of mine is letting me borrow his Heavy Rain.

Then yeah I would definitely try it out. I definitely liked it a lot and took it as another take of Silent Hill. And just in case you don't like it, Best Buy still has a high trade in value for it.

For those on the fence for sonic generations, its a damn good price. It's probably the greatest sonic game this gen. Sega really is trying, it almost makes me want to play the other sonics i missed. I would like to know the deal with that purple rhino ninja and what silver is. The minute i hit city escape i was bewildered with child like delight.

Also DMC is an actual good HD remake, unlike the splinter cell fiasco. Castlevania LoS had a great story, dlc isn't too bad but short. Asura's Wrath was also good but short, without spoiling anything Capcom WANTS YOU TO BUY THE DLC.

Dead Rising OTR = Faan tastic

This is great. Lucky the Dark Souls I ordered yesterday from Amazon hadn't shipped and I was able to cancel:bouncy:. Picked up both Demon Souls and Dark Souls from this.

I seem to recall that the Silent Hill HD collection totally fucked over 360 owners by them not patching it at all for some reason (Screw you Konami). Were there any issues with Silent Hill Downpour? Or are both versions equaly buggy? That aside, im wondering if one version runs better than the other, i'll have to look for a head 2 head or something. To me it seems a silent hill game belongs on a sony console

Im tempted to get splinter cell but i hear its buggy and kinda half asses. Actually a lot of the HD remakes that are being crapped out seem to be half assed rush jobs =(
Is newegg the site that is known for sending "beat up" games?
Newegg typically sends games in padded envelopes. I've yet to receive a single damaged game from them but I'm sure if you ask enough people you'll eventually hear a horror story or two. It shouldn't be too difficult to get a replacement sent right out to you should something actually happen during shipping.
Valkyrie Chronicles always interested me.
Love that game -- I'd highly recommend picking it up for that price.

Not sure why I'm asking, BUT. Demon Souls vs Dark Souls. I know both of them have great reviews, but which one would you guys recommend to someone who has never played either?

Also, let me say this. My biggest concern is that I don't know if I will like the game or not. I DO NOT like games like Oblivion, Skyrim, Darksiders, etc etc. I have Dragons Dogma and The Witcher 2 and I have only played each one about a hour or so. I haven't touched either one in a few weeks now. You guys see where I'm going with this?

I think in the 30-50 orders I've put in I've had maybe one cracked case

I would venture to guess that you would not enjoy this

Demon's/Dark Souls involves a lot of dying and repetition, that's the main mechanic of the game, also it's not a "true" RPG as it's more gameplay action based and the "story" is pretty sparse. Every time an enemy kills you, you start at the beginning of the level and all enemies reset. Then you go kill them to pick up the souls (currency for everything) you dropped when you died. You'll learn where enemies/traps are to try to be ready for them the next time.

It sounds more frustrating than it is, but it can be quite addictive, and you learn ways of minimizing loss (spend as soon as you can), so if that doesn't sound like fun to you then skip both.

I would definitely play Demon's first because it will prepare you for things they expect you to know in Dark Souls, though they are not much different difficulty wise aside from a few cheap parts in Dark.

For me personally, I dislike all the games you mentioned aside from Dragon's Dogma. The souls games are closer to a modern day Zelda 1, or even Mega Man in some ways. It will expect absolute focus from you at times, but the gameplay can support that. Its one of those games where every time you die, you know it was truly your fault. Button mashing on most enemies will get you killed in seconds.

Some people complain that its trial and error. Those people don't hold their shields up and probably sprint around corners. Demon's Souls has been beaten with a barbarian using the starting weapon, no armor and not leveling a single time. It's pure gameplay.

Also, watch the opening movie for Demon's. No FMV has ever gotten me that pumped to play, I watch it every single time I turn it on.
is the prepare to die edition of dark souls coming to consoles?
Yes, on the 26th.

It's only announced for PAL and Australia so far, but I think it will come here. That's probably why Darks MSRP went down to $20.

Ohhhh, almost on Silent Hill. $10 will be my sweet spot. And that will more than likely occur around BF. Thanks anyways OP.

I recommend getting New Super Mario Bros.

Just a little joke. IATCG said he needed somebody to sub for him being an asshole since he was afraid of the ol' banhammer.
