Way, way, WAY too expensive for me. I might have considered it at $99.99, but not at $149.99. :/

I just realized, though, that I don't think Konami officially released the price point for the LE, so this price could be a guess on Amazon's part. /wishfulthinking :cry:
 
That's an expensive bastard of a game. Had it been a real metal gear solid, and come with better swag.. I might bite.
 
Not a chance I will bite at this. I usually only do LEs on MGS games, but not doing this for a side game in the series at that price. However, I believe this will still sell..just not to CAGs.
 
Wow, that's a bit more than I thought it would be. I'll place a preorder for now but I don't think I'm going to bite at $150.00

It's so easy to cancel Amazon preorders and you don't pay anything up front, so it's not like I'm committing to anything just yet. ;)

If it doesn't lower to $79.99 (the most practical price point I can assign to this LE unless the lamp is more than 6 inches tall), then I'll cancel.

Boy, this makes the ZoE HD Collection CE look like a steal by comparison.
 
Those waiting for a price drop won't get it because anything Kojima sells out quick and very limited. I'd definately preorder it and slowly pay it off at your local Gamestop. Metal Gear collector editions always hold their value and increase over time. Look at the MGS3 Subsistance LE...that thing goes for $150+ on Ebay. It was $40-50 when it first came out.

I'm pretty sure there is a good chance of the value going up or maintaining the 150 but not all of us are looking to flip or sell it. If we are to buy it, is it worth the $150 asking price, that's what some of us are wondering/don't feel like the LE is worth it.
 
I tried using the $5 promotional code I received when I purchased Metal Gear Solid Collection: LE but it didn't work, anybody else having this problem?

And I still can't decide if it's worth it. Just a soundtrack, steel book, and lamp thing? I don't know...
 
its Tron CE all over again... I'm going to feel bad for those who actually buy it and the lamp is actually made out of cheap plastic.

Don't get me wrong, I'm a huge CE fan of games I'm into, but 150 dollar price point is a bit much.

I assume people are confused, including me, that it says temporarily out of stock instead of the usual "Pre-Order now" with the release date.
 
$150!?!? I don't think this is worth the price of admission, even as a big Metal Gear/Platinum Games fan.....
 
Gah. This is my most anticipated game in years, I am not impressed with this LE.

Hopefully FuturePress does an LE strategy guide. I'll certainly get that.
 
If it came with a good art book like the MGS4 one then it might be worth it.

But this is basically $90 for a lamp.

Agreed. This will almost certainly be very limited and sell out soon. I think im going to wait and see if there is an international LE with different bonuses. I want an LE for this game but not feeling the NA version of it.

If this does become limited, it could be worth A LOT.

The lamp would be seen as a great collectors item for sure.
 
I pre-order JUST IN CASE, but I will more than likely come to my senses right before release like with the SF 25th anniversary collection and cancel. I can't see this selling out right away and I could get the main thing I want out of this, the steelbook, for cheaper by itself on ebay. I have pre-ordered every LE for MGS but this is just pushing it too much... unless the lamp is REALLY killer, which I doubt. Hopefully we get pics soon
 
This will probably be even more limited then the borderlands 2 loot edition. They will not mass produce that plasma lamp. Only question is will the game have as much demand.
 
pics of it are all over online - i didn't preorder on some mgs le games and the turn out to sell out within the first month. it is true most things kojima tend to sell out quickly - if you are on the fence preorder - wouldn't wait too long.

Oh derp! Didn't think to google when I didn't see the pic on Amazon. That lamp does look pretty bad ass, but like others have said, how big is it and what quality are the materials. Well I'll leave the pre-order for now.
 
Just to make sure I'm understanding this completely, the only difference between the non-LE and LE is the lamp? No steelbook, no artbook, soundtrack or anything else?

The LE does also come with a steelbook and the soundtrack.

yeah i was looking for a video or something of it today - or atleast a pic of it next to something to compare size. seems like they left out some very important details.

Hopefully they'll add an artbook in there like the MGS artbook from the MGS collection and then it'll be closer to being worth its asking price.
