alright Joey! woo!

Anybody have an opinion on the Batman DLC? Except for Harley Quinn, they're all just challenge maps right? Probably not gonna get played much since I beat the game nearly a year ago...

Metro purchased. I, too, am debating on apples to apples for 200 points. I don't see it being fun by myself but I can't pass up a 200 point game.

I was thinking about it for a cheap GS increase, but after trying it out with my roommates, we found that the board game is infinitely more enjoyable. I was disappointed to see that Kill Team is just another twin stick, despite it being Warhammer and the only other game I was interested in. :(

Until next week...

Interesting...the german GoD of Metro 2033 is missing around 400 MB in the download file the austrian marketplace has the same price but I guess it's uncut (damn restrictions over here) I guess I'll get the austrian edition then since I still have points on that account...to bad the DLC isn't on sale again...

so metro is not region locked then.
what size is version you think is cut as in australia it is 5.42 GB.

ws hoping it would be $9.99 everywhere so we would get it at 640 msp or something again, but if it is not region locked i might get from my Hungary account.

Naaah the German Edition seems to be Cut and only has around 5.15 GB...the Austrian Version should be uncut...since Austria doesn't have restrictions unlike Germany in Case of blood & Gore...anyway 630 points are tempting...

@Tsel - In response to what you wrote in the old thread, I'd say pass on Voltron. It seriously sucks. I'd say it would be an okay buy at 200, but not even worth 400. I didn't find it quite as bad as Ghostbusters: Sanctum of Slime, but very close.

Thanks for that quick little blurb. I was considering picking it up but the reviews weren't very glowing and they missed out on such a great opportunity to have a cool avatar award for it. Looks like I am going to pass on it.

Thanks for that. I was wondering if anyone noticed what I had said. I'm gonna have to pass then based on what you've said and the fact that it doesn't look all that appealing anyway. Now if it had some amazing avatar award, that might change my mind, but a t-shirt? Pass.

Thanx ReddJoey for all the hard work and NEW thread.

Looks like Batman. I think the Robin & Nightwing pax are the other ones with the achievements. I've already got Cat Woman.

You want a horror shooter, or a adventure GOW/Zelda type of apocalypse game?

I wouldn't call Metro a good shooter. Technically speaking, it is a first person shooter, but shooting is definitely not what it excels at.

It depends on what you want. Shooter or adventure? :roll:Metro has an alright story and the gameplay is fine. 7.5 out 10.

Darksiders has a good story and plays like a GOW/Zelda clone. If you plan on buying Darksiders 2 soon then I say go with Darksiders. Its also $5 preowned at BB, and Metro RARELY goes on sale, so its your choice.

Go on youtube and watch reviews for both games and choose yourself.

It depends on your taste. Darksiders received critical acclaim, but since I've only played about an hour of it, I can't give a fair judgement. Metro is either a love it or a hate it kind of game. Personally, I loved it. It did do a few things wrong, but it did a lot of things right too. Some people didn't care for it.

Red Joey is BAAAAACKKK! Good to see you around your old stomping grounds.

Is anyone else kinda excited for Serious Sam 3 tomorrow? I know it's 1200 points, but the game does look like a blast.

Ya the T-shirt is beyond lame.

I've never played Metro, but Darksiders is GREAT.

[Off topic]Hey WV Matsui, every time I see your avatar, I cringe. I went to my first HOME Texas game since my senior year in November 2002 (I went to the National Championship game vs. USC) against you guys and y'all ruined my homecoming! Then seeing y'all get killed by Tech made it even worse, though not as bad as us getting massacred by OU. I still think Geno Smith should get the Heisman.[/Off topic]

Back on topic, I have YDKJ for Wii, but I would like those achievements and the extra packs. Not sure what to do yet.

Damn, I wish Harley Quinn's Revenge was on sale. Thats the only batman DLC that I'm missing. I would buy it if it was even just 25% off.

They're just different - I have both. If you like Bioshock-like smart first-person shooters where the shooting isn't so twitchy and perfect (ie. not MW2) but where the atmosphere, story and immersion is important then go with Metro 2033. It's a pretty exciting game but not anything relaxing. It's about a 10-14 hour game on normal.

If you like a 3rd person action, adventure, platform, puzzler in the vein of a more darkly told Zelda then go with Darksiders. It's about a 15-20 hour game to beat.

IMHO Darksiders was a bit of a grind for me at times and I didn't really get into the story too well. I was playing it for about 6 or 7 hours while my xbox wasn't hooked up to the internet and when I finally got back on live none of my offline achievements registered and my save file went kaput so I've never gotten back and started from scratch with it. Whereas the same thing happened with Metro 2033 and I'm itching to start it up again. So I'd try to sell you on Metro 2033 personally but to be honest I'd tell you to grab them both if you can. Doubt you'll see them much cheaper - especially Metro 2033, Darksiders you can probably grab off craigslist for $10 anytime.

I was excited until I saw that they're essentially splitting the full game into two 1200 MSP downloads.
One, the campaign mode (which can be played in single-player or co-op), then the second is a 1200 MSP add-on containing the new single-player DLC and the multiplayer versus mode. I wouldn't have played much of the MP anyway, but I'm not sure I'm going to spend $15 on what is not technically the full game.
