I'm trying to get caught up with what's going on in Amazing Spider-Man before issue #700.

If possible, I'd like to start at around issue 680 or so. I just don't want to pay a fortune.

Other than ebay, are there any sites where I could perhaps pick up the back issues for relatively cheap?

You could try going with the trades.

Spider-Man: Ends of the Earth
Spider-Man: Lizard - No Turning Back
Spider-Man: Danger Zone

Danger Zone isn't out yet though and won't be until after Christmas. You could try to get those in individuals if you want.
