We just had a complete in box Atari 2600 Air Raid sell for a record $33,433.30 over the weekend on GameGavel.com making it highest priced "consumer available" video game in history. Here is a link to the just expired auction listing for those that want to check it out.

Congrats indeed, however it's abit like gas prices! Economics are interconnected and not only will that drive up market value of the classics, it will have an impact on current game sales and value. (LUV IT EITHER WAY) LMAO Who woulda projected that value two decades ago!

It's a bubble and it WILL burst at some point just like baseball cards, comics, beanie babies, etc. I don't think it'll crash like comics did, but I do believe that the market will settle down eventually. It's grown too big too fast. That sort of boom is almost always followed by a bust of some degree.

In the meantime, that's an insane price! O_o
