Free super mario for WIi U with 40 dollars spent at old navy (Black Friday)
Crazy good deal, but I'd never wake up and wait on line for it.
You don't have to.. its midnight friday :)

I am confuse about this, does it says it's part of a giveaway contest or you just get it by buying stuff early in the morning.

Edit: nevermind, you guys answered it for me.

Doors open midnight....not early morning...

You get a copy for buying 40 dollars of old navy thats it. You get it no other crap. Then you can enter for a chance to win a wii U

I refuse to go into a store on Black Friday

If its online I bite if not no worries, it will be soon enough

Last year morons were fighting over 35 dollar games that I calmly bought on bestbuy.com

Anyone know how many the stores are getting? I might check this out at like 11p beforehand and see how long the line is at my Old Navy.

Going to stores is half the fun.

Too bad I'm always out of town for Thanksgiving, making it even harder to do. Not sure if I want to go game hunting in Ohio this year lol.

I assume all of them but from what I can make out of the blurry fine print each store is getting like 4 or something..

Says "A line will form outside the store and an associate will hand out wrist bands to redeem your super mario game. Very limited supply"

This is bullshit. Right on the ad it says they are handing out wristbands, which means the first 5-15 probably. Try reading it before responding with inaccurate info.

AKA Lego Rock Band 2.0. Might be an awesome deal if you live in a small town. I remember seeing a good 50+ people lined outside of Old Navy when they did the deal last.

Oh yeah because its sooo easy to read the fine print thats smeared all over the place because of a poor scan

Nice find OP.

Just know I won't be getting it if it's anything like the LegoRB promo

Yup, YMMV, as to how easy it'll be to get the game.

I skipped the LegoRB deal, but my friend went for. He showed up to find a line of 100+ people. And the store had 30 copies of the game

Where in Ohio? I am in Cincinnati. We might be able to divide and conquer!

I think the area is called Columbus? Planning on moving out there sometime soon too, so I guess I'll have to re-learn my CAG scavenging skills as well.

My wife and I did this deal a couple of years ago with Dance Central. Dropped her off around 10 and then went to Walmart. I'm pretty sure they handed out wristbands and she was able to get her copy without problem.

even 100 copies per store would not be enough, I think people will be camped out days ahead of time. And the rumors are that black friday deals will start the day before thanksgiving this year.

OK, thread title was a little misleading as it just said NSMB U with $40 spent at Old Navy (like you could go do it now). I just added the Black Friday part ;).

I'm tempted even though I'll be getting the game from Gamestop when I pick up my Wii U. But I really detest BF lines. Since this will supposedly be at midnight, I dunno, maybe I'll give it a shot. Though I am probably better served by sitting at the computer and hitting up online sales instead (that I would end up missing by standing in line for hours at Old Navy). I wouldn't even know what to buy to qualify for it - though I'm sure my wife could give me a list.
I don't think that anyone is going to camp out for days just for a free $60 video game.
People will camp out for anything.

I remember people posting about the past deals with old navy. Complaining that people got their hours ahead of time and that the store only had a few copies and only a handful of people got a wristband or a game.

People are F*CKING CRAZY on black friday. Dont expect to get in on these deals unless you are also F*CKING CRAZY.

Not only that, but it's not like the game is actually free. You still have to buy $40 worth of crap you don't need to get it ;).

Luckily, women always need clothes.

Well, to her credit, it was my wife that actually made that point (that you'd have to buy $40 worth of useless stuff) when I told her I was considering going there. Granted, we have 5 kids so I'm sure there would be something we could use. But the problem is that since it would just be me (she doesn't like going to any BF stuff) I'd have to make the decisions on my own and would probably buy the wrong stuff ;).

Clothes aren't really useless, I'm sure you could find some clothes for the kids and such.

Essentially this is $20 off the game, plus you're getting clothes along with it for $40 total, certainly not bad. Not something I'll camp out for though haha.

??? Not sure if I should feel insulted or not. Columbus is the capital of OH. I'm a northerner and only visit Columbus occasionally but there are/were some very nice areas with entertainment/restaurants/bars. Ohio people are generally good natured. BF can be fun or awful just like anywhere else. Of course, I've never been to Kiddieland so I can't compare. Most of the time I get the items I'm looking for.

I didnt mean because I thought people would be bad. Everyone i met so far there was very nice/friendly. I meant because I didnt feel like getting lost in the vast wilderness inbetween the shopping areas I had visited so far. I'm used to driving right up the road and getting to stores, had some 15-30 minute drives there just to get to decent shopping areas.

You kind of jump the gun with your response lol. Though I can understand feeling insulted

Super mario for the wii u might not be as bad as rock band.. The console will have only been out a few days when this deal hits.
I don't think that anyone is going to camp out for days just for a free $60 video game.
Not so sure about that.

One problem I can already anticipate in my area, is that all the Old Navy's are in the same shopping center as a Best Buy. People are definitely crazy enough to camp out at least 1 full day in advance for Best Buy (and in some cases even more). So some of those people will probably be keeping tabs on the Old Navy store as well. Probably more than enough if there's only 5 copies per store.

My brother and I did this for Dance central and the camera they gave out last year.

Super easy if you're not into black friday... hardly ANYONE waits for Old Navy sales...

My GF works at Old Navy she hasn't mentioned this yet. I think the thought of Black Friday still scares her though and she blocks it out completely. Does every store give away a console? How much shit would be started if a managers boyfriend won a console... We need to talk about this... :)
Where in Ohio? I am in Cincinnati. We might be able to divide and conquer!
I could consider a divide and conquer with ya. Im in cincinnati area too. PM me with more info...maybe we can make this work out or other BF deals. Im skipping the Wii U for now... but a free game for $40 i might be able to convince myself to buy some shirts or pants...:bouncy:

People are forgetting that it's for the first 15 or 16 people waiting on line? That alone is warrant a "no deal." It's a huge YMMV! Good to know, but no thanks!

Very cool.

Ive actually done the OLD NAVY Black Friday deal 3 years in a row now.

Year 1 Lego Rock Band
Year 2 Dance Central
Year 3 Digital Camera

I just like having an excuse to be out on Black Friday. Its fun.

In my area, all the 3 years Ive been able to lineup 1-2 hours before and be either 1,2 or 3rd in line.

I just bring my PSvita, or before PSP/DS and kill some time and get a FREE game or Digital Camera.

All 3 years Ive simply returned the clothing 2-3 days later and kept the game. Never an issue.

Is there a list of Old Navy's that are doing midnight? I know of one in a mall that I could probably camp at 10 and get a wristband.

Yeah I have to buy $40 worth of clothes but in my mind, it's $40 worth of work clothes because dear lord I would never shop there for any other reason .

I remember running into another CAG the Black Friday they offered Lego Rock Band. It was cool running into him and chatting it up, but gawd was that a waste of time in line.

Now THIS seems like a deal I might be willing to wait in line for. Probably a silly question, but does Old Navy carry any other games/electronics? I don't care about clothes enough to shell out $40 on them on Black Friday, of all days.

No games or electronics.
But they do have some nice tin collectible lunch boxes.

I'm not falling for this trick again. They had Dance Central giveaway a few years back and there were like 100 people in line and they only had like 5 copies of the game to give away. There are better deals out there on BF.

Luckily it's illegal to not wear pants in my state........

This is Mario. I haven't been to one of these Old Navy giveaways, but with Mario/Wii-U, I think it'll be like nothing anyone has seen! No thanks! I'll be at my computer waiting for those insane midnight deals that sell out by 12:03-12:05 am!
