I think the lightning deals have a 15 minute time limit to check out, at least that's what my recollection is telling me about last year. If you don't have prime, you better have a good amount of stuff you want saved in your cart to move up to get to FSS. I'm sure they'll have a huge amount of stuff on sale at good price for the entire week, so it shouldn't be hard finding $10-20 worth of stuff to get up to FSS. Prime is definitely a huge plus when taking advantage of these lightning deals.

OK, this is probably as good a time as any to ask: Is Once Upon A Time really any good? I've heard good things about it here and there, but I'd appreciate any detailed opinions.

Pretty underwhelmed by Amazon also. Definitely picking up Brave and hope they'll price match other retailers throughout the week, along with those random price drops.

It's ok, the writing is a little stupid at times (particularly in the first season). I watch it once when it airs and I don't really have the urge to ever watch it again.

Kind of sad that Family Guy and Walking Dead weren't listed on Amazon's schedule.

Still keeping my fingers crossed on a Futurama sale.

they usually do add more items throughout the week

Yeah, they did this last year with most of the deals they didn't match right away. Unfortunately it's the reason I missed so many deals with Amazon because they put them up last minute. I wish they would just lay out all their deals ahead of time. I can't check the web all day on Thursday and I'm sure other people can't either.

I have to say I'm only slightly disappointed in the lack of Mad Men sales this year. It's become a BF tradition of mine every year to get the latest season on BD for crazy cheap.

It helps that the deals are limited to one copy per person.

Not quite Black Friday, but I picked up the following DVDs, all sealed, for a little over $3 each at my local thrift shop:

Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2
Twilight: Breaking Dawn Part 1 (2-disc)
Sherlock Holmes Game of Shadows
21 Jump Street (movie)
Vow (the recently released romcom)

My eBay account likes my local thrift shop. :)

That's a great price today on the Kids in the Hall megaset at amazon, it includes Season 1-5 (which have the same content as the individually released seasons) and the 2010 mini-series Death Comes to Town (which was mediocre to average). Packaging is one amaray case per season and an amaray case for the miniseries in a box.

I was about to purchase Bond 50 at Amazon, but there is a note in the box below detailing an upcoming sale on the item. Bond 50 will be the LDOTD at Amazon on Saturday. It is currently priced at $129.99. So maybe it will be $10 less. Also, there is a thread on Blu-ray.com that suggests the Indiana Jones Collection will be $30.

Goddamn. Indy would be amazing at that price even with it being bundled with that terrible 4th movie.

It's been years since I've seen any of the Indy movies, and I don't much recall the 4th one.

I think I could splurge $30 for it.

If its a lightning deal though, I may be out of luck. Better keep my guard up

It's still $7.99 for just the DVD. It's also $9.99 for the Blu-ray + DVD combo pack.

Grabbed:
Benjamin Button
Dinner For Schmucks
The Social Network
A Beautiful Mind
for $8 from Best Buy

wish they had Water For Elephants too, those are pretty much all I was looking for from Best Buy so that eliminates a trip.
