Steam for Linux

Fell Open Ian

CAGiversary!
The beta is now live and while you probably weren't invited you can totally crash the party:

http://media.steampowered.com/client/installer/steam.deb

A normal launch will result in a not allowed dialog which closes the client but if you use the jumplist (right click on the Steam icon) then you can get right in.

For non-Ubuntu/Unity users you can use (in terminal):
steam steam://store

Cool, tried it out on opensuse 12.1, but it requires glibc 2.15.
Oh well, maybe it'll be out of beta once I feel like upgrading again.

Course, that's the only incompatibility I know of, might've been more.

All of my plans are lining up nicely. STEAM on LINUX is pure bonus.
Has anyone played anything yet? How's performance?
Anything on STEAM or in general on Linux?

I have a slew of Linux games that run like water.

On STEAM I played Quake II, Spiral Knights and Hard Reset and they ran awesomely!
